- The final moments of Jiriya the Gallant. Jiriya death was the most tragic and saddest moment in the whole naruto shippuden series. The student and teacher bonding of Jiriya and Naruto was amazing. Jiriya was killed by his former student Nagato(Pain).

and pain said that if jiraiya knew it was a 6 v 1 he would have won

His final speech never fails to make me cry. To think in your final moments that your life has been meaningless and that you have been noting but a failure, having that hope of one day having something that people will remember you for that instead of all of your short comings. Can’t help but break down especially when he comes to peace and sees his life did have purpose in the end.
A 29 year old adult grown up kid still listening to this and crying behind the scenes just to show other people that the kid is a grown up man.

I don't care if that MOFO old man is dead...he was totally useless...!! He trained naruto for 2-3 yrs but still I didn't notice any positive results of that training...!! On the other hand Oruchimaru trained Sasuke in such a way , that he was able to defeat Naruto+Sakura+Sai+Yamato(wood style) all together...!
Jiraiya was a complete loser , he was unable to win Tsunade bcoz of his pervert and shameless nature , his sage mode was also not perfect , his rasengan was also a failure technique , without kakashi's help Naruto won't be able to make it Rasenshuriken...

Damn hits so hard listening to his voice his death left me in a mood for months one of my favorite characters. He was like a father to me too despite being a fictional character growing up along side watching naruto. Pervy sage will be missed so much in my heart.

Master Jiraiya was my favorite character in Naruto when he died I cried for 2 days it was Soo sad I felt do bad that he couldn't even continue to make his dream come true... I just love the way he talks to Naruto and Jiraiya sensei's voice is so soothing.😞

He was the sensei of the 4th (Minato), not of the 6th (Kakashi), but otherwise agreed
also tsunade loved him orochimaru became good
and offered hokage position many times
Thing is, he didn't feel that way. He felt like he failed. How it goes in real life as well. People thinking they are failures, but only because of whiners.

This anime gave soo many emotions to generations of watchers truly one of the greatest it's just a shame it's followed by something so callous and non emotional as Boruto. Truly a tragedy.

@@krishnajayaswal6051 Actually he really got his Nindo from all the way back when he fought Haku and Zabuza, Haku kept saying that to be a ninja is to be an emotionless tool and just get the job done. Naruto realised this was wrong and wanted to help everyone as much as he could. Other people along the way (Gaara, Sasuke, Pain, jiraiya, finally Obito) all added to his philosophy and helped him confront the flaws within it.
It's been years since I finished naruto, and I'm crying... one hell of an anime, one hell of a character

No matter how many times I see this episode (I’ve been rewatching the series for almost 2 decades now). No matter how many times I see it, I still get watery eyes when I see Jiraiya die. It’s like I actually lost a mentor in real life. It’s so strange how we can connect to people that we know don’t exist, but they somehow exist in our hearts based on our connection to a show/anime.

Legitimately remember crying when I saw this for the first time back in 2012 when I bought the box set.
Jiraiya died feeling his life was a failure. If only he could see what became of Naruto, and how he changed the world. I wish he could have seen it. The look on his face as he is released from all his pain knowing he didn't fail this time would have been amazing to see.
He didn't die feeling his life was a failure. He died feeling that his true win in life was training Naruto. In the end he left Naruto with his will and hope that things will change. He wholeheartedly believed in Naruto and that Naruto was his one win. He died gloriously because he acquired glory in raising Naruto.

If there is one thing Kishimoto is good at, its writing tragedy and self sacrifice on their emotional peaks. Been getting that right since the first episode and the anime making you feel since the first named arc where threat of death almost hit the prodigy of the trio.
