When I don't paint; I clean up as much as possible on heavy rust, wash with water, wipe down with mineral spirits or gas and spray it all with satin clear coat.
Prevents further corrosion and saves the history.

When I first started watching him I thought He seems like a rwally decent guy, hope he doesn't injure himself or worse, but before long you realize it's like a professional ice skater posing as a beginner, and doing the slip-slide-trip- 'perpetual- stumbling- nearly-falling several times' routine applied differently. 😎

    You should name that truck
"Trench Digger". Cause it looks like
It is Grave Diggers uncle .
Next time you use a flat head screwdriver bit on your impact driver try putting a piece of clear vinyl tubing on it, it helps keep it on the screw head and you can still see the screw to align it with the bit tip.
Now I see why you said you were going to use a glass pack for the muffler. Nice smoke stack!

About the radiator fan pushing air forward!!
Go ahead and install it for now, it will really help with any driveway test runs and I suspect that the top speed of this beauty will not be enough to interfere with the cooling.
In any case you can put some cardboard or plywood in front of the grill and and the fan will push the hot air through the radiator and then out the sides behind the plywood.
You might be able to reverse those blades if they are riveted to the hub.
I better go back to watching the second half of the video.

we must be twins separated at birth, we do the same kind of restoration on trucks and cars, i never have to go to a store and buy a nut or bolt or any kind of fastener, truck frame used to store reusable pipes and scrap metal, sheds and truck boxes full of used motor and body parts, one room is my shop is full of rebuildable motors and shelves full of carbs, starters, generators alternators, water pumps, and boxes full of miscellaneous parts. did about the same thing to an old truck like yours and drove it for an hour on back roads to a car show and they took a picture of it and put it in the club magazine along with all the beautiful restored classics from that show, and it was one of the biggest shows I have ever been to, everyone loved it, i called it my 1952 GMC TOPKICK pickup.

Quickest way to do the ignition is to take some ten amp wire and feed it through the bulkhead to the battery. Then tie a loop in the cab end and tape the battery end to the croc clip.
