I did have a dalmatian for 13 years, they are adorable, fun, loving energetic, they will love you no matter what. Very loyal. Without doubts the best dogs as pets.

Dalmations love tearing toys up. I dog sit one, and it used to steal my tshirt and socks to put in her basket. They are so affectionate , and demanding.
Could I ask, how are they in terms of energy? because I have read that they are prone to temperament issues and such. having said that I would really like to own a Dalmatian one day and Im just seeing what I need to be aware of.

I don't think a lot of breeders have Dalmatians in Canada anymore - at least not in the area I live in. It's a shame. My gran had Dalmatians on her farm in the 90s. Very sweet dogs but high energy though.
And my male Lucky was very protective but both attracted lots of attention my female Emily was deaf and I taught them handsignals he was her ears..we were on many adventures together!

He is such a beautiful dog ☺ you should've bred him once before terminating his manhood. He would have made very pretty puppies...sad that opportunity is lost 😔.
They do indeed make very good guard dogs; I own one myself. However, they tend to get very jealous of other animals and can be overly-protective and aggressive, so beware.
@INTERNET SAFETY BOARD I'm not really an expert on training dogs. But, when potty training, I usually just put my puppy through the routine of going outside every time she finished eating or drinking. That way, accidents were mostly prevented. For biting, however, I would just say no a lot in a stern voice when the puppy would start trying to chew on things she wasn't supposed to, and me haha. I never spanked her because she was only attempting to play, not hurt anyone. I kind of winged it when raising my dog, but this worked out for me. If you have other thoughts on it, I'd suggest asking a professional or just doing your own research. Hope this helped out!

Can you run half a marathon with a dalmation or are they too obstinate?
i think the dog would be able to keep going after you're ready to stop, Finn gets an 8mile run a day now and loves every second
