I have no experiences with hogs on horsenettle. Allen Williams says that they will dig the taproots out. I do wonder if they were to dig the roots out if there would be more nettles grow do to the rooting. Diffinity would be something to try and see can if can make it work. Great question!!!
Love the question!! There are two sources I use a lot. Google ID (take a picture and look it up on Google) and A book called Pasture plants of the northeast. grazingguide.net/pdfs/plantguide/PasturePlantGuide-2018_full.pdf I also use text book called Toxic Plants of North America if I suspect a plant is toxic a.co/d/fmUvqS1
Greeting Russ, Thanks for filming and posting, I know it takes a lot of time.
I am always amazed at how knowledgeable off the top of your head you are with soils and grasses. You are always so curious.
Once again great content, keep them coming …
Thank you for your analysis of your soil and information about the horse nettle.
Great content

I don't think pigs would like eating the roots like they do for some plants like bur dock and amaranth
@quarrybrookfarms8156 I don't have horse nettle so would not know. might be worth an experiment.
Is there a plant id book that you like for its ease of finding species that you have?
