How to Build a Floating Pump Platform

- Here is a quick and easy way to build a good dependable floating pump platform for any kind of water pump. All together everything cost under $75.00 and it just bolts together in minutes. It has the capability of being able to have a full flotation set up if the bottom is filled with the small 5 gallon drums. We made it wide enough to hold 12 drums for heavy lifting underwater. With this side up the bolts stick up to mount the motor but you can flip it over, fill the space with drums, throw a piece of plywood over it, and you have a dependable rock mover & floating platform.
That float sure does work good, motor just above idle was plenty of water flow . LOVE IT !! now we are ready to go spend another couple months up there in the mountains before the snow flies, heck let the snow fly we can stay warm its called sitting by the fire.

that was nice looks like the dredge i built except i used 8 floats gust like urs and i have the same size motor looks like urs would work as a dredge 2 its to bad u cant use dredges in california how do u get away with it is it because u dont dredge right in the river just wondering

We got these for free from a car wash. They use them for soap and then recycle them or give them away.

it depends on the box width and height out of the water. 9hp with a Proline HP500 is what I use.

Unfortunately here in the Golden State, I just don't dredge. The dredge ban that was put in place is there to take more jobs away from the people. Back in the great depression California wasn't affected as bad as the other states because there is gold here & people can make a life mining. Today, people would still be making a good living Gold Mining if the California Legislation wasn't doing everything that it possibly could to destroy all businesses & kill our economy with environmental BS laws

No, this is just a pump platform though it could handle a 3" dredge box easy enough, we can't dredge here in the Golden State anymore. Heck I still have 6 dredges sitting here, a 2.5, three 4"s, a 6" & an 8" that are just collecting dust. It's funny to me that all I have to do to go dredging is cross any state line bordering the Unites Socialist State of California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Mexico is all legal, it's just here where the EnviroNazi's have taken over that it's illegal.
