It can be awkward talking about money in romantic relationships. So, to break the ice, I’m asking everyday people what they really think about hot-button money and relationship issues.

George Kamel is a personal finance expert and co-host of The Ramsey Show. Following Ramsey’s proven money plan, George went from negative net worth to a millionaire in under 10 years. His goal is to help people spend less, save more, and avoid money traps so they can live a life with more margin, options and freedom.
This channel will simplify complex money topics, bust money myths with actual facts, and debunk the stupid financial advice you're seeing in your social media feed. All with a healthy dose of pop culture, humor, and snark.
Love how the entire financial community is trying to set Caleb up 😆❤
Love will find a way
That couple working as a team has their priorities straight and sounds like they've gained a lot of wisdom.
Same thought. Those two are going places!
Hi George. This morning my wife suggested to take a vacation to Mexico and charge it to the credit card. I replied that George wouldn’t agree on that and she said “who TF is George?!” Now she is mad at me. Please come and save me from this one.
It is better than Dave telling you to sell the car
Stay strong. Don't take vacations you can't afford!
I would say take the vacation & then sell her in Mexico.
That was the best intro! You definitely need to make those into printable Valentine's Day cards. ❤❤❤
"He's got an office not far from here."
George - "He doeeeesssss" 😂😂
I wonder if George filled him in 🤔
Little did that man know that George Kamel works for Dave Ramsey as his co-host. LOL.
LOL! My hardest laugh through the whole thing! George: "He does. I've been there." 🤣
The only thing better than that first cup of coffee in the morning is logging into UA-cam and finding the latest video creation from George. I no longer have to work out, as I laugh hard enough to make my stomach muscles hurt 😂
George is the greatest. Lived this episode.
Same!! 😂😂
Morning showers with George for me 😅
So delightful, always!! 😂🎉
True! I’m dying 😂
I would never date someone who makes more then me, my wife wouldn't allow it.😀
Lol.
😂😅😂
Well played 👏
The hate over not tipping is so unreal to me as someone from the Netherlands. In Europe the waiters will straight up refuse tips and tell you not to give them money.
In America, that is how their income is earned. They have a reduced base salary well below minimum wage, I think somewhere around 2$/hour. So if they have 4 designated tables and they can clear 1-2 an hour and the table spends 50$, they make 9.50$-17$/hour on 15% tip.
It is a backwards system really.
Although I generally will tip atleast 15%. I still maintain the attitude that its your EMPLOYERS job to pay you, not me.
@@Dixielinemuzik I understand where you are coming from. Technically speaking, it still is. If the server doesn't meet the minimum wage threshold, the employer has to make-up the difference. I think there is something nice to not feel responsible. On the other hand, that's the point of the current narrative. I think the culture has changed. Before, eating out was a rarity and you would sit-down for an extended period to enjoy the company of others. It is easier to be generous in those circumstances. Today, most people eat out because they don't cook and want to experience new foods. If you change the system, generally servers make less and the cost will go up.
George is so fun to listen to!
Just gotta clear this up: There is no pumpkin in pumpkin spice!!
Pumpkin spice is the spice that goes into pumpkin pie: Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, & Cloves!
TIL
That's not technically accurate. The pumpkin spice lattes usually use a pumpkin sauce or pumpkin flavored syrup (including starbucks). You can make a really good creamer with real pumpkin and the spices. It's actually easy to make and so much better (and cheaper) than store bought. Cheers.
@@madisonhruschka3718, I suppose you *could* put pumpkin in a PSL, but Starbucks doesn’t.
Pumpkin Spice Flavored Sauce (Sugar, Condensed Nonfat Milk, High Fructose Corn Syrup or Sweetened Condensed Nonfat Milk (Milk, Sugar), Annatto (for color), Natural and Artificial Flavors, Caramel Color (class IV). Salt, Potassium Sorbate (preservative),
@@Chard-man-G "In August 2015, Starbucks changed the recipe to include pumpkin and remove artificial colors. The ingredients announced included a "pumpkin pie flavored syrup" made with sugar, condensed skim milk, pumpkin purée, coloring, and preservative."
If you remove the artificial pumpkin flavor, you have to add in real pumpkin. They make it that way because it's more economical.
“McDonalds has a dollar menu for a reason” that is definitely something I will be saying next time someone says they won’t tip at a sit down restaurant 😂
So does Taco Bell! Or Wendy’s 4 for 4
Mcdonald's hasn't had a dollar menu in more than five years easily now period
Closest saying you're gonna find today. Or even within the past six months is a bogo
You mean value menu. Dollar menu has been long gone for a while.
3 dollar menu
@bradleyhowell4155 3 dollars is not the same as a dollar menu.
The Entire point of calling it a dollar menu is that everything on the menu is one dollar each .
More videos like thos asking random people questions. Nice work
Yeeeeaaahhh, for anyone saying that “oh if you don’t combine all your finances, you’re PLANNING to get divorced!” The amount of people I saw as a loan officer who had previously said the same thing, believing they’d always be able to work it out, only to have their whole lives shattered in a moment, they’d always say the same thing: “I thought I could trust them.” & “I wish I did things differently.”
It didn’t matter if they were married for 5 years or 30, they wished they never combined their finances fully.
It depends on who you are with. My parents are together for 40+ years and they literally share the account. Only way to do this is if you are both the same in terms of values and money. Both live frugally both value money. Etc it depends who you are with and hence why you need to be careful with who you want to marry take time with that person and see how good they are with money. Jesus I sound like my parents and I am only 22
Caleb is the whole package! He's adorable, funny, smart and has the biggest heart! AND he loves animals!
That voice too!
Unfortunately it's his terrible texting game that is keeping all the dating app users from discovering his virtues XD
@@IAmebAdger It's soooooo bad!!!🤣🤣🤣 But I would be won over by his British Morgan Freeman
He just needs an annual dating profile audit from Graham
@@aliciaz4682 He really does! I hope Caleb made those changes. Graham was right about all of it. His main pic was terrible
loved your intro lol--all the people u interviewed were awesome--I'm so happy to see people off the street being logical and kind🥳
BEST PICK UP LINE EVER "I'm falling for you faster than the price of bit coin"
That would be funny except not factual as bitcoin has not been falling, and as a matter of fact it outperforms any other asset or stock over any 4 year period you pick.
@@rustyshackleford6637 "Past performance is no guarantee of future performance"... and especially for something that's only been around for less than 2 decades
@@rustyshackleford6637 Yeah it has doubled so far this year and will probably do the same next year.
@@rustyshackleford6637 I think he was referring to the period just after it went from like 65k to 16k but idk maybe that's speculation on my part. Maybe I'll just replace Bitcoin with N.f.ts
George, this is a great video! Love your pick-up lines. You are a true comedian.
😮😮My needs for guys that I dated? Ability to maintain a full time job or business, have a working vehicle, be a responsible person and the number 1 criteria is be a NON smoker. I also needed someone who respects me and who makes me laugh. . . . I have been married over 30 years.
“I’ve been there” 😂
The honesty in the answers.... Loved this episode so much!! So def do it again!
Love this episode, George. So obvious that one guy had no idea you work for the Ramsey show! LOL Ineresting takes on money. They were generally more conservative than I thought you'd find the MOS (man on street) to be.
When I was young, having motivation and goals was important to me. I wanted someone who was willing to work as a team to get to common goals. Now that I am older (almost 60), I don’t believe I would date someone I would have to take care of. What were they doing all their lives?
Paying off medical school debt is not guaranteed. Doctors spend 8-10 years in school and residency making min wage. Their loans have been accruing interest during that time. They've probably put nothing aside for retirement. At any point, it's possible they could die (with the top cause for physicians being suicide or overdose) and leave the debt unpaid.
Dave actually says some of the worst people with money he sees are doctors. I have seen one with over 2 million in net worth who has an 80k student loan, but only pays minimums because the interest is low. She also bought an 85k chinchilla fur blanket. The root problem is in the original loan agreements and the ballooning cost of tuition.
Love the woman at 3:02. Honest and fair - passions are important, but I put paying the bills first, and I expect that from my partner too.
8:55 George and I both thought for a good 3 seconds she meant cancer like the illness. 💀
I finally reached my goals. Paid off my $400k home and finally making 6-figure income. But im old now 42, man. Maybe I screwed up 🤷♂️
You still have your youth bro, live your life now that you are debt free!
You are in the best yrs of you life enjoy every minute of it congratulation
How did you screw up if you met your goals
My opinion, and this is from someone who has been with the same person for 35 years and married for 31 of them, but, if you can't join bank accounts with someone, then you WILL have other issues in the relationship eventually, PERIOD. Can you change someone?....NO. Should you try to change someone?....NO. It is all about compromise!
As someone who’s been married for 36 years, having a joint bank account is good for the mortgage & other house bills, but it’s important for each partner to have their own account as well. My senior hubby has become a collector/hoarder & forgetting his wallet in public, etc. There are times where you need to count on money being there for you!
@@gallopinggoose7997 I think so, that way you can contribute money toward your regular expenses and also save up money towards family goals such as a family vacation. But in your own personal account you can make choices about your own financial goals - such as maybe buying more clothes at thrift stores so you can save up to purchase a guitar. It's harder to track things like that when all the money is lumped together.
I live in South Florida, those answers would be completely different 😂
“He does! I’ve been there!” 😂😂
Ok George, I wasn’t a huge when you first joined Ramsey, but you’re doing a great job with this channel!!
True - Dave overpowers most of his people. George actually has an amazing personality
The women SAY they'd date a man who makes less as long as they are passionate about what they do, but that has an expiration date. They will get tired of pulling all the household weight for years, while waiting for your rap career to take off. 😂
😂
Or waiting on the call to be lead singer of a band. (I'm kidding)😂😂😂
I have noticed that when they put "passion" in, they tend to mean ambition. I was like this before because I would be happy to build with someone. It now seems more genuine to say that I am okay with temporary fluctuations/lower salary while you are building a career. I don't want to feel like I am scraping the line of poverty and have to choose between working and having a family and home. It's a better question I think to ask long-term perspectives. Would you marry someone who will still make 35k in 10 years? I think the conversations people have at the beginning are either not authentic and are cutely worded or do not consider future planning.
@@madisonhruschka3718 Then the women always say "I'll change him to make him make more." 🤣
I did have a spouse that cleaned out our bank account one night that he got drunk. Couldn’t even pay the rent. Got a separate bank account just before my next pay deposit. Eventually had to divorce him due to his new addiction to percocets. He wasn’t a drug addict when I met him but he soon got involved with a business partner that was on percocet for pain. Within 3 years my spouse was completely addicted and spending everything. I could not take it anymore and divorced him.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope in the time since this happened he's gotten help.
@@SquirrellyFries I sure hope that happens one day. I’ve been divorced 11 years and thus far as per his niece, he is still addicted to drugs.
The good news is - you've been free of him for the past 11 years.

Those pick up lines are hilarious 😂
Wow! George is so short! He’s so adorable 😊
Living with parents shouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker. I know a dude who has 150k in the bank who lives with his parents. He will buy a house cash. It all depends on what they have going on.
This blonde lady with the Gucci bag is very smart, love it
My husband and I graduated from high school at the age of 18, were married at the age of 19 and we are now both 55. We’ve had joint accounts and finances the entire time. We’re a team in every aspect of our lives.
Fun video!
My hubby and I have had separate accounts for our entire relationship. We’re both very independent people. However, we frequently review them together, will show statements to each other, be transparent about spending, and discuss big purchases first. It’s a balance that works for us. We own our home outright, have some decent investments, retirement savings, and have minimal debt. Plus, we don’t fight about money. It’s worked for us for the better part of 20 years. Not for everyone.
LMAO GEORGE is so relatable 😆😆 the iPhone / android take is so real
HAHAHA BRO HAS ME CRACKING UP, George is the man
This is your funniest video yet, George!
How people can say they don't care how mych their significant other makes. It's not only about money, but also a sign of one's discipline, ambition, ability to create value in relationships and so much more.
I suppose you should care up to a point. But I would rather have someone who chose academia over industry, screenwriting over acting, and small business entrepreneurship over corporate greed.
I think it’s more of what’s their relationship to it.
Yes she makes $150k but she lives like she is a millionaire and won’t budget etc. it would be hard to go further with that.
But I wouldn’t hesitate to date a woman making $60k but she is ontop of it. Paid off car, and no debt etc.
@@vforvendettaMA Yeah what if they're a teacher who absolutely loves their job and is super dedicated to helping children? Low income doesn't translate to lack of dedication and discipline.

Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. Building wealth involves developing good habits, such as regularly setting aside money for sound investments.
I invested with Ricky, i make about a 30,000USD every month.
Same here, a Transformation of £4000 to £15,400 in just 2 weeks, he's really the best
I trade with him, The profit are secured and over a 100% return on investment directly sent to your wallet.
After watching so many UA-cam tutorial videos on trading, I was still making losses until Mr. Ricky wen started managing my investment. Now I make $6,800 weekly. God bless Mr. Ricky wen as he has a blessing to my family.
I've seen a lot of recommendation about Mr Ricky wen, Please can I have his info? I want to invest 2,000usd with him.
So funny. I enjoyed laughing while learning about saving money and dating advice.
Those pickup lines are 🔥🔥. Definitely gonna use one of them.
The pickup lines, gotta love it!!!
@georgekamel I agree with you on the TP but when your daughter starts moving around the house freely, you may find value in flipping it around. Just a forewarning
Yeah. There are patents and there is real life. My husband I found never understood the practical reasons for some things we did to prevent the messes. Probably because I was the one cleaning up the messes as well. OTOH I'm just happing when the TP ends up on the roll now that my kids are older. If my husband cares which way it rolls he can take it off and "fix" it.
Preach! I never understood it until I had a toddler 🤣
"HE DOES! I've been there." 😂🤣
It is not over it’s under the original creators aren’t even known today because they didn’t do it right 😂
Haha just messing around thanks for the great content George God bless you and the family!!!
LOL That intro though. GOLD
Bad so much i believe differently how people think deal breakers over the average person thinks.
OMG I LOVE those pick up lines.
The introduction and the music!!! 😂
The couple is just like my husband and me. We are a team.
I think it's very different depending on age. If you're young and just starting out, combining accounts makes sense. But if you're older and have assets or debts you accrued over the years, maybe not. I prefer to think we marry for love and companionship, not the finances one brings to the table. I realize you're marrying the whole package and becoming a team, but you have to be practical and protect yourself. Or maybe it's just there's no one I'd drive off the cliff for...
Estate planning and prenups
Certainly depends on when you got married for sure.
If y’all be together for 25 years. The accounts should be already.
But if you are in your 40s 50s and getting married. It’s safer to prenup and separate accounta
The intro is legendary 😂😂😂

Really fun video!
I think that after Dave retires, you’re going to be running the show and doing him proud
The older lady is the only way you could get me to completely combine finances: prenup. I have too much trauma in my past around my parents combining all their finances and one of them cleaned them out when they left so the other couldn’t even afford to buy groceries. Sure, the lawyers got some of the money back in the divorce, but that didn’t help when groceries were needed immediately
If you are planning for divorce you shouldn't even get married in the first place
@@zachjones2346this is a good point 😂
@@zachjones2346nah, you have no idea what could happen. That’s like saying you shouldn’t get life insurance because you’re not planning on dying. There’s too many unknowns in life to not protect yourself.
@@Tazazak Being married to a selfish person must be a wonderful experience. I bet if your wife started making 5x your income you would want to share finances suddenly. Also, your example is false equivalence.
@@zachjones2346 you can share finances and still sign a prenup for the amount and assets you had before marriage. Also, I’m a stay at home mom 😂 my husband and I got married young and were both dirt poor, but if he had had a lot of money or family assets I would not have minded signing a prenup for what he had before we got married. What gets earned and acquired during the marriage is different, that should be shared. Also, before you come at me for being a stay at home mom, I worked up until I got pregnant (hard pregnancy, couldn’t keep doing my physically demanding job) and HE wanted me to stay home with the kids, so I did. 🤷♀️
Oh this is too good😂❤️ Love it!!!
That’s hilarious I watch Caleb Hammer too!! Hope he meets someone soon & uses one of these lines! 🤣

Money is super important. When I met my wife she was the equivalent of a public defender and made about $69,000 a year. I made about $34,000 repairing air conditioning and refrigeration. That was 9 years ago. We now make more money and it makes life very nice.
I was laughing so hard at the intro, in my office. LOL Love ya George!
Too funny and so true.
This was great!
Damn, George done rizzed me up 😮💨😮💨😮💨
My daughter and son in law have been married a little over two years. He told her before they were married, she could quit her full-time job and go to school full-time to finish her masters. She now works three jobs plus goes to school full time and they have still not combined their finances. I believe couples should have an account with the majority of their money in it, and have a separate account with an equal percentage from each person to spend as they like. If he wasn't going to help support her, he should not have suggested she quit her job.
Fully agree. I would never tell my partner they can quit work to go back to school if it wasn't my intention to financially help them through that so they can focus more on their studies. That just seems dumb that he did that.
Something tells me you don't have the full story. As her father, you should have a one-on-one conversation with him. Express your concerns and come from a place of love. You are not overstepping, you are helping them confront what will eventually fester into something more serious. You already resent him for it, so will she.
The pickup lines!!!!!!! LOL
“He has an office not too far from here.” Haha I love it.

I can not! How many retakes? It's no way you and your team didn't laugh while taping!!!!! 😂😅😊🤣🫠
You forgot toothpaste…The squeeze from the bottom (as God intended) and the heathens who squeeze from the top.
I think what comes through as a theme here is the fact that the person is trying. If someone is broke and just a lazy ass living with their parents then that’s not attractive. However if they’re living with their parents because they’re working on saving towards a goal then it’s different.
‘Dave Ramsey has an office near here ya know’… ‘yeah I might’ve been there’😂😂😂😂That guy had no idea you were on the team 😮
