The main problem is not that it gives you memory or does a search. It's the fact that as soon as a Digimon leaves the Breeding Area, another Digi-Egg is immediately generated, ready to attack Security or have a next move ready. If Ukkomon had an [All Turns] This Digimon cannot attack or the effect of placing another Digi-Egg was removed, then it would be more balanced
I'm a bit on both sides. I'd rather have 1 generic searcher, that can't be digivolved on, than 20 different Rookies for searching for 20 different decks.
Agree. Ukko is needed for a lot of 2nd and 3rd tier decks to even keep up with the speed of high tier meta decks that get more support every set like agumon, veemon
I think this is only going to be a temporary issue, as the game progresses this card will become less effective. Much like the Blackwargreymon problem, it was the begining of a new era. Blackwargreymon is still a great deck, but it was the begining of the next level of power creep. Much like Deathxmon. These decks/cards are very powerful on launch as they shift the paradigm of game balance. But give it a 2-3 sets and all of a sudden the card goes from being suspected of going on the chopping block to just being "good". Look at Shinegreymon, as well. The rest of the game will catch up to protag power. Protag power is just bandai's way of keeping fans happy/bringing new people in to the game. People who dont play the game wouldnt be excited if they heard about, lets say, SHIVAMON being meta. Who the fuck is shivamon? I personally have at least 3 friends who joined the game because they saw blitz Omnimon steal a game, or watching Blackwargreymon use Hades Force. Now that protags are powerful, other decks are starting to become powerful now like numemon or leviamon or jesmon etc etc. You need to have protagonists to be powerful in phases. As much as i secretly want it, decks like tyrannomon and....Aegisdramon need to step aside so bandai can establish a core based on familiar monsters. As the game grows, so will the pool of viable digimon.
Been having a consistensy issue with Leviamon thanks to the restrictions. Ukkomon will help it in this upcoming format I feel. It can't deal with the meta because of effect immunity, but i've bricked so many times with that deck it stopped being fun to play.
Great video like always. So I had a few disagreements. First the top decks in the format, you and East have different numbers. I think top 3/4 decks are 1. Yellow vaccine (armors) 2. Imperial 3. Numemon 4. Bunnies Now my issue with ukkomon isn’t the search per se but the hatching of another egg. Ukkomon just can swing tempo in the first turn players way. Bt 16 ukko is probably the best turn 1 play. It fixes hands and allows you to hatch another egg to then build your real stack. Numemon is my favorite deck to play but if we go off the JP format it stays in the top 4 decks even currently. Even after ex07 I think numemon will still be a top 4 deck. I think ukkomon rewards already aggro decks to become more aggro and win more often. The new blue hybrids (ancient garuru) is a sign of this. I also think that it’s the promo that should be hit to 1 since the bt16 ukko if it’s limited to 1 it seems too high rolly to me. Having the unified format will solve some of these issues as well. “Japan walks so the west can run” we get to net deck and improve decks so I think that is also some of the issues. What are your thoughts?
@@RideMyAvatar you know a sleeper top for the format will be mirage. Mirage doesn’t need ukko either. Bt16 ukko is also much better the earlier the game is. It gets diminishing returns the longer the game goes on. However, promo ukko does not suffer the same diminishing returns, unless you are already on your last egg.
Yeah I can agree that BT16 Ukko (and arguably trainings) does kinda feel like a bandaid patch to a general support issue. I'm only assuming they're just trying to either keep from being too redundant or just have something to tide older decks over before they print something that happens to benefit the top decks way more on accident. It's just an assumption tho. At least bt16 Ukko is there as an option so i can be satisfied with that for a bit
Ukkomon as search support in many deck is fine but the effect of hatching digitama too is too much is accelerate the pace too much many deck that run 8 ukkomon with 4 rui can be called ukkomon deck instead of using it as support for example the blue hybrid they can end game in three turn without try anything hard From what i see if bt16 ukkomon is just choosing between search or hatch it would be fine but when it can do both it a bit too much
I'd rather hit Magnamon X first, but Ukkomon is a problem for game design in the future. For now, I'm good with Ukkomon and his ability to allow for creative deck building.

Oh agreed

I just want them to have the equal in rookie department
I agree with this about bt16 ukkomon alot, i think the promo is keenly different as its accelerating games instead of just enabling
Thank you. At least you watched it. It’s a small change that can fix bandai over all issue.
Agree. Ukko is needed for a lot of 2nd and 3rd tier decks to even keep up with the speed of high tier meta decks that get more support every set like agumon, veemon
Yeah, main protagonist level support need to come to an end
Top tier use ukkomon better.
@@richardshiflett5181 most top tier only if they choice to, play it at 2. Only a few decks can really play 4+

I do love this mindset. I also love the recognition that more decks need more support than just the main male protagonists
Yeah after doing research, it seem that ukkomon not the dang issue it the fact there nothing better to help the decks

Yeah consistentsy

I think putting restrictions in you can play both ukkomon in a deck. East gather stuff form somewhere I don’t know
@@RideMyAvatar you know a sleeper top for the format will be mirage.

Yeah it definitely feels like a bandaid patch to the support issue for sure.
Is not a issue. It helps slower older decks play against the meta, only meta decks that uses him are numemon and sometimes red hybrid
Oh I know, not once did I say he was an issue. The issue is the fact bandai sucks at making equal searcher for deck.
Wait till you see environment of BT17 this card become broken to the point of make many deck unfair
I look at the competitive ineverment. I think the issue comes down is having 8 ukkomon for the deck that don’t need them
It is an issue.

I think the promo Ukkomon is too much.
Your not the only one. 4 copies it to much
The main reason I’m going back to Miragegaogamon, just to spite the ukkomon players lol
Yeap alot of player on that to punish them
Patamon searches Top 4 for ALL yellow tamers 👀
Bam him
Ukkomon made me quit. Seeing numemon dominant so much because of ukkomon made the game unfun.
Just ban ukkomon to 1, is beyond fair.. is just too powerfull!
I'd rather hit Magnamon X first, but Ukkomon is a problem for game design in the future. For now, I'm good with Ukkomon and his ability to allow for creative deck building.
Myotismon bt16 8 ukkomons 🤣
It was one of like 4 list Xd
@RideMyAvatar I'm just talking my current list 😅
