Nice work Dan ! The Farmington can be tough at times , especially harder in the winter, but definitely fish are there for the taking! Working the water and changing up flies can be the difference! Would have been nice to see you set the hook on that hit you got! Keep plugging away and tight lines buddy!
Nice to see a trout caught in December , totally cool to see a trout in the net this time of year.. ! Next time , is will your time ! How about a Christmas or New Years Eve trout in the net! ??
At 3:00. To. 3:08. What all that about lol. My home river. If ya want to have alot of space to fish. Get out of the fly only areas. They get too pressured anyways. Trust me ive fished this river over 40 yrs.
Man, nice video. I'm a newbie to the area, trout fishing is kinda new to me as well (I grew up catching bass and carp on the fly). I haven't cast anything lighter than an 8wt with 12lb test for "tippet" in years. I now live an hour from the Farmington and got out last weekend, it was challenging to say the least, only caught a few tiny rainbows on a dry fly. Streamers produced nothing, and I think that's due to my previous habbits fishing streamers aggressively on sinking lines for bass and pike. Looks like you mainly dead drift streamers along the current, almost like you're tight line nymphing with a floating line? Guys were telling me it's hard to catch fish on anything heavier than a 5wt. Does that sound about right to you? What size line were you casting here? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to figure out this awesome river. I'm going to be spending a lot of time here.
Hey man welcome to the channel. My other farm video (bunch of em) will help substantially more than this one!!!! I almost always euro nymph with mono rig on a 3 weight 10.5 foot rod now. 5-6X tippet. Farmington fishes best april to august. Autumn on this river can be tough at times.
Hope y’all got some relaxation out of this one, back for REVENGE soon 🤘
Looks like a great place
Challenging river !
Its hard to relax watching someone else go fishing. It just makes me wonder why I'm not out fishing somewhere! Have a great Christmas.
Hahah! Right back at ya 🤘
Fishing in MA this winter - my streamer catches have pretty much all come on long pauses or holding in current - euro nymphing working well too
Yep for sure 👍👍 nice
Nice video!
Thanks 🙏

Did the flexseal work or not
That's why it's called fishing not catching. Those days happen sometimes. Good stuff.
Ain’t that the truth !!!!
What part of the river are you fishing??
Anywhere from riverton area down towards the main bridge past upcountry
@@DownstreamDownrange ok thanks man. Love the videos!

I wonder how big that fish would have been.

Amazing how this damn river can humble us. Reminds me of a trip on a warm December day I had last year.
