Really good look around the car, thankyou! The only review I've seen that shows the adjustment of the wheel, reversing mirror features, etc. Stuff that's really good to know.
I have had the previous model for 18 months and I have said it before it's the most underrated EV on the market, and this is from an from an Audi boy. The car is a complete joy, stuck in traffic on a hot day wearing shorts, the ventilated seats are an experience not to be missed. On 0 regen which is what mine stays on the friction brakes are rarely used. So mine lives on regen 0, normal mode with SCC being used 95% of the time with great milage
At what level of regen do the brake lights activate? I'm concerned about potential tailgate crashes on some recent EVs and I've stopped using B mode in the Leaf now over 30mph as it can be dangerous when cars behind don't realise you are slowing down in time.
I tested the E-208 and then immediately test drove this Ioniq in the Hyundai dealership next door. I wasn’t blown away by the 208, but got in this and just liked it from the moment i sat in it. It’s just a nice place to be. It’s a clear choice for me.
Funny...Im switching now, coming from a 2020 e208 GT...but I have realized this comes as far as the Peugeot with a smaller battery and to be honest the Ioniq is a car for adults.

I would say that in regards to the rear window getting dirty I would be inclined to say that it is the aerodynamics of the car design, which pulls the air in near the rear causing the water spray to hit the window. It's also what probably helps the efficiency!

Superb review. I have one of these as my first ever EV, only done about 500 miles but what a car! Its warm when i leave for work and so, so, so relaxing and easy to drive. Not sure what all the fuss on charging speed is as i charge it at home when i'm asleep. Love it.
Traveled in my 28 Ioniq to Galway via lake District, Scotland and Ulster during the same storms I think you were referring to. With four people and a dog. Magic car. Spooky how it manages to keep its promises about range.
So after a year long battle trying to get MG UK to sort the charging issues they created when they updated my MG5's charge parameters at the 2023 service (the cars now don't charge from solar) the dealer has finally agreed to replace the car . I'm getting a 2020 Ioniq and can't wait to get into a decent quality car.
Excellent review, and I really like the two perspectives that you provide. The points about efficiency are hugely important, especially as EV ownership increases and when considered from the shared energy system perspective. All these EVs will need to be powered and preferably by sustainable power sources, so more miles per unit electricity is vital for overall sustainability and minimising impact on the environment. We tried an Ionic PHEV and really liked it so, if the EV is actually available, this will be high up on my shopping list.
Im thinking about changing from my bmw i3 94ah rex to the revamped Ioniq 38.8kwh model and was wondering what your experience is of the Pros and cons of the new model. Particularly around the slower Charging speed at Fast chargers , and whether that has made any difference to your EV experience, thanks
Thanks guys, one of the best reviews of anything I have ever watched. Totally real world comments from a real world family. You made up my mind for me. Take care. :)
Thanks guys! That was a really helpful review which was fun to watch. This car keeps coming out as my favourite choice for my first EV when I research online. Your real world review has convinced me that this is the car for me.
The salesman at my Citroën and MG Dealer in Merthyr Tydfil South Wales was saying in the bad storms we’ve had recently their driver used the ZS ev to take customers home and pick up etc and obviously had to use air con for the windows lights etc he got 125 miles out of it, was showing 10 miles left when he charged it back up at the garage. And we have a lot of hills around here too.
I've had my 2018 Ioniq for a year and travelled 40,000km. Cash price was $49,000 in Australia. The 2020 Ioniq can be bought now for $52,000 as a dealer demo with a few thousand km. I don't regret having bought mine early but if I'd waited a year I could buy a second hand 2018 Ioniq now for about $40,000. So in a year my car has lost 10 grand. I guess we've yet to see what the real depreciation is going to be on EVs considering their longevity. An EV will have much greater reliability and less deterioration over time. My 2018 has the perfect range with all our Australian rapid chargers closer than 200km apart. As our network increases the DC rapid charge at 30 minutes to reach 93% is just perfect. I still have a smile every time I get in.
Hi Robert thanks for your reply, yes i see that the 28 one is around $40k, really tempted to trade in my 2010 Toyota Camry hybrid for a secondhand 28kwh one, I am in Brissy however if i want to go to Moree in NSW, I am screwed as there are no chargers after Warwick QLD heading that way.
I've been waiting on this review ever since you teased you were testing it. Due to pick my new Ioniq Premium SE up next weekend so great to see your positive thoughts on it. I get a few Vauxhall Ampera vibes (my first EV in 2014) with the touch controls, split screen and basic body shape. Really looking forward to my new car coming.
Having seen some Terrible negative reviews towards the revamped Ioniq 38.8kwh mainly around the slower charging on a Fast Charger compared to the Older 28.8kwh model , it is refreshing to see such a positive , well informed review of the new Ioniq Ev.
Nice one guys. No lively debate is always missed when you two get going, but that is just a credit to the car. always been a fan of the ioniq. Styling for me is fine, however I just can't get used to the wheels. much prefer the wheels on the first edition ioniq. what you said about the leaf is so true. compared to the competition, people will eventually drop the leaf for other alternatives. As you say, you don't want to drive at 55 just to eak out the battery range. and I speak from experience. Ioniq - great car.
It's funny because I am smiling all of time watching your reviews. Not flashy, just a happy, honest review. Thnx! And now for the million dollar question... Would you choose this over your MG if you could do it again?
Thanks, glad you enjoy them. Honestly, no. The range is better at higher speeds but the MG has space, high ride height and of course, cheapness on its side. They are both very good EVs however, so very much a case of 'what do you need'
Great review this has helped me choose my next ev think this is gonna suit me perfectly moving from my zoe. If you guys like it it's good enough for me.
I thoroughly enjoy using Regen level 3 but also often use the left paddle if needed, which kind of gives it a level 4 & even firmer slow down. Also for those that don't know, if you hold down the drive mode button for 3 seconds, it goes into Eco-Plus Mode. Top speed is throttled, climate and a few other features are disabled, but it ensures maximum range for those longer trips where charging isn't readily nearby. I've owned a lot of different vehicles over the years and my 2020 IONIQ limited (US model) might be one of my favorites overall due to simplicity. I drive roughly 70-100 miles 5 days a week and my electric bill has only gone up $25-$40, yet I'm saving easily $120 in fuel costs a week. Charging at home during non peak/demand hours and weather situations will ensure the least amount of KwH usage costs as sometimes power companies charge 3x the money during overly cold or hot weather. Usually most power companies give a detailed cost/usage time frame so you can ensure your not wasting money at a time when you could of just charged it a few hours later for much less money. The car has a built in scheduling system to start and stop charging automatically to ensure you follow the cheaper rates.✌️
I’ve watched this for the 2nd time as I’m looking for a used EV and I’ve narrowed the list down to the Ioniq electric and e-Golf. My wife wants a “normal” looking ev, whereas I want something a little more interesting to drive. The longer warranty and reliability record of Hyundai has me swaying more that way, begrudgingly accepting a less interesting drive.
Well done you two. I've been waiting for a decent review on this car. I've ordered it blind and should have been delivered to dealer on Friday with me seeing it on my drive on 6th April. However, COVID 19 has stalled the date... I'm really looking forward to it and I'm coming out of a Merc C350e....
It’s an amazing car and I might replace the Wife’s 30kWh Leaf with it if the Leafs battery stops being good enough for the Mrs with its continuing degradation. I found the noise in the cabin surprisingly low! Definitely very relaxing drive. The slowness of it and the price made me not go for it and buy the Model 3, no regrets there. It’s also work fine for the wife as she doesn’t need to rapid charge. But for me, after watching Bjorns video about it, I wouldn’t want to deal with that
If i were to buy an EV this one would be the one for me. I really like the normality of it and the efficiency. Wish they would produce more cars like this instead of these massive boxes on wheels with huge battery packs with poor range for the size of battery.
I’ve got the premium se, didn’t realise the mirror has two settings, thanks for that. We have a swivel seat for my granddaughter and that makes putting her in much easier. I love the Ioniq and it compares nicely with our Kona as well. We traded a 40kwh leaf to get the Ioniq and I feel it’s a much nicer car.
Did you mean two ‘camera’ settings ? Based on the rear visibility, this car would be so well served to have a rear view mirror that could be switched between ‘normal’ and digital.
Great video as always (thanks). I have had my Zoe ZE40 three years now and although it is great it has terrible headlights (and I drive mostly at night plus I don't have 20:20 vision even after cataract ops and lasering). The headlights look really good, a great safety feature. I think for me my next car will need 200 plus miles range (too many trips I do are 60 to 80 miles each way).
If it is helpful, we are getting 172 in bad weather at about 4-8 degrees, with heated seats, wheel and heating set to about 21 degrees. Even on the motorway. We used to run it at 65 mph, but the weather was up to 10 degrees this weekend and we push a little over 70 mph and still got over 170 miles.
Two issues for me - charge speed - Bjørn Nyland has done a good job of reporting on that ! and then the torsion beam rear suspension - hows that feel ? Bob Flavin was not happy at all with it !
We were four up regularly and it was well planted. The charging thing, especially here in the UK, shouldn't be a thing. It chews miles up easily and when we did charge we found 43kWs to 80% was over in 35-40 mins.
Bjørn really didn’t do a fair assessment of the charge times in my opinion. If a battery with this range gets to 80% (approx 225 km) in 45 minutes, I would say that compares favorably to my 2017 Ioniq EV which, in three years of real world use, gets 80% (approx 160 km) in 25 minutes at a DC charge station. Two questions: What’s wrong with that? And: Show me a car that charges faster at this price point with all these goodies. I’m jumping out of my old Ioniq EV and into this new one this summer and can’t wait. My only complaint is that, here in the North American market, colour selection is nonexistent (black, white, gray, gray and the same blue I already own) and we apparently don’t get the rear view camera while in forward gear that you have available in Europe.
@@Jamesandkate The lower charging rate compared to the 28kw Model has been overplayed a bit. For most people who home Charge, they'll rarely use a FAST charger, and you typically charge while having Lunch or Coffee at an FCP so you need 40mins anyway. I was watching Tesla Bjorn having Lunch and he had to go and move his Model3 while having lunch as it was charging at 140kw, but there are few Chargers available at that speed, and most people dont do 1,000km challenges, requiring multiple Fast Charger stops in the same day. I drive a bmw i3 94ah Rex myself, having previously owned a Leaf 24kw, and a Zoe Ze40 , and had thought about the Ioniq as my Third EV, but went for the i3 because of its Completely fold Flat Back seats giving me huge Cargo Space allowing me carry my Racing bike without removing the Front Wheel, and for its amazing Power, and the Rex as a Backup. If Ioniq came out in a 64kw model like the Kona, it would be a huge seller. Thanks for the great review.
I thought Bob Flavin's review of the Ionic was unfairly critical. For example, he referred to the BMW 9i3 boot as a "nice big useful space" and the Ionic electric boot as "okay...it's a boot. It's not remarkable, its not clever, it's just a place to put things". The i3 boot is 260 litres and the Ionic is 357 litres.
The dealer I visited recently to test drive the Premium SE told me they are colour spraying the front grille to match the body colour for a lot of customers. He showed me a picture of one recently done and it looked very smart. Shame Hyundai don't offer this as a factory option.
Thanks guys. My favourite online couple. Great review about the practical performance and range and lovely to hear your daughter too. For me there are two things I do not like. One is the front grill. I feel Hyundai could have done some more research and development for the aesthetic appeal. Second, it would be nice if they could have worked on the dashboard layout. As you put it, where is the wow factor to match the real world of £30k+?
I sat in an Ioniq EV at the dealer a few weeks ago. Front seat was great, but the back seat didn't have enough headroom. I would seriously consider one if my kids weren't so tall. Though to be fair, the Kona was no better.
Hi James kate thinking ov getting this the 38kwh has coolant problems as it will be a uesd car do you think I should look elsewhere any advice would be helpful as you are a ev machine any advice thanks steve
I really enjoyed your fair, honest and down-to-earth review of the Ioniq ....... thank you! Your conclusions reinforce my own, albeit from only a short test drive of about an hour in the Ioniq Premium SE a couple of months ago. I'm going to be getting my first EV in 6 months time and the Ioniq is a strong contender as it will certainly meet my needs. I've also shortlisted the VW ID.3, MG5, Hyundai Kona (2021 model), Kia e-Niro and Skoda Enyaq for test drives when restrictions allow. I will be very interested to see what the new Ioniq 5 looks like and costs when it's launched. This may also be added to the list, depending on price and when it becomes available. I share your opinion of the external appearance of the Ioniq, particularly the rear split screen. But the range and efficiency benefits outweigh the aesthetics for me. The standard equipment levels, particularly in the Premium SE model, are on a par with the Lexus RC300 F Sport I'm currently driving, which is remarkable when you consider the price difference! I'm sure the Lexus UX300e will be a great drive but it's just too expensive, so won't make the cut.
Amazing review, love the new logo. After your review was tempted to swap it for my ID.3 1st I have on order, however with a list price of €39,955 for the Ioniq in Portugal is a lot considering battery size. I just feel the ID.3 1st at under €39,000 and with a 58 kWh battery will be better. I could be wrong and the ID.3 could drink electrons quicker than I drink beer, but I pray VW have nailed it.
Hi James and Kate, great review.... At a £30k++ price point.... Would you recommend a used Tesla or the Hyundai ioniq? I'm torn between a "new" ioniq or used tesla.... Any recommendations??..... I do 16k+++ miles a year if that helps
Recommendations dont count for much really. Everyone will have a different opinion. Try out the Different Models your interested in, see if you can get them for a weekend, and test out the Fast Charging, comfort, Test their real world range, and does the car fit your Drivin requirements, does it drive well on the Type of roads where you Live. A Tesla models is a big car, so might not be great on small roads. Youve the issue with Tesla of expensive Servicing costs, and waiting on parts. James and Kate have a couple of videos about taking their Tesla too the Service Station, but then the Tesla have Access to the Super Charger Network, so if you do a lot of miles daily the Tesla might be more suitable.
you can buy a 38 kwh one for under 30.000 but comparing with the 28 kwh what are the differences over 1 - charge speed is faster on 28 2 - better miles kwh based on 28 kwh = 130 miles = 4.643 miles vs 38 kwh = 160 -= 4.177 miles 3 - Different lights
We are getting over 172 miles in the winter, with rain at 65-70mph on the motorway. On a warm(er) day last week, I hit 6 mpkWh on the way to work, but I think this was wind assisted.
I had the ioniq for 3 years and loved it, but needed something with more battery and more gadgets in the car, so I’m getting the model 3 in September and hopefully won’t have too many issues with it.
Oh, it is not expensive in Germany at all. You get 8000 Euro off by Hyundai, so that is fair. Range is better than you might expect from the size of the battery. The point is efficiency! So the range is better than the e 208 for example.
Thanks for another enjoyable review. Good to see you highlighting the importance of efficiency in an EV in a world that seems to be producing EVs with bigger and bigger batteries as a means of addressing “range anxiety”. Leaves me thinking how fed up you’ll be as a Mach E owner with a 99kW battery getting 40 off kW from an existing rapid charger! In terms of the road noise, does it come with Nexens like the Kona? There’s been a lot of discussion about this on Kona Electric fora with the simple solution to replaces the tyres with something quieter.
Loving your EV car reviews. My husband is undecided between the Ioniq and the MG5 and I am trying to decide between the Peugeot e-2008 and the Ioniq. We are a family of 5 so boot space and a slightly longer range is essential - which would you recommend?
@@Jamesandkate Thank you :) We have been offered a really good lease deal on the pre-face lift exclusive and budget can't quite stretch to the facelift model. Which would you choose between the e-2008 and Ioniq?
If you touch the brake pedal does not mean that you are using the brake pads. You can completely regen with the brake pedal without using the pads if you brake gently. Tesla are different.
I found the boot quite shallow but I do agree like everyone else who’s had experience with the Ioniq that efficiency is legendary! I full agree with the seats too. They do need some more support. Not as quick as the 40kWh Leaf but love the infotainment system. Was Florence playing on a kids Fire Tablet? We bought one for Millie and she loves it. It’s surprising how quick kids pic up things. The only down side is that she now thinks our tv at home is touch screen 😂
Thanks for the honest and excellent review, James and Kate. That lack of rear view would drive me to distraction! Can the rear camera be used as a way to improve that deficiency whilst driving?
Great job as always guys, love the details! Again, the Koreans prove they are producing very very good BEVs from existing platforms - not designed/built ground-up models yet. I agree, their battery SoC and range predictions are very good and both Hyundai and Kia's BMS are super efficient - I've seen that on all their models I've tested.
Thanks James and Kate for this interesting test and report. At the expense of being a bit cheeky, is there a chance of doing a joint test of the 2020 Kona SE please as the last test one year ago and we also never heard Kate's views and certainly it would be good to hear her views as my wife likes to get Kate's point of view as she wants to get this car. Also the 2020 model has a number new changes so may we please ask you if you could seriously consider this please. We would be very interested to compare it against the Ioniq test you just made. Keep up the great work and hello to Florence x Thanks
£32.000 is a lot for a car that's let down by its looks. If I'm ever in the market for an EV, I doubt this car would be on my shopping list. A friend of ours has owned four Hyundai ice cars and all have been impressive.
Thanks for the great review! Really looking forward to my new Ioniq which will share the garage with our e-Golf shortly. You guys are a cute couple. Do you knit a lot? ;) High five! :)
Lovely car and you are a lovely couple. I have a Leaf but this is now a better car. Wish it had a slightly bigger battery. Much better made than Nissan and much more efficient.
Excellent review as always! We test drove this and decided to get the e-208. I'm coming from an i3 and I found the Ioniq really noisy (as you mentioned), really sluggish (as you mentioned) and personally, I found the flappy paddles a faff. I don't need as much boot space as you guys. And I really *love* the look of the e-208.
Yes e-208 looks the biz. But, people are getting 140 miles over the last month from 50kWh and the Ioniq Ev is getting about 170 miles from 38kWh at motorway speeds - it is unbelievable. We have had 3 EVs now and 'Flappy Paddles' are a must. The more control you have over regen, the better range you get. On motorways for example, you want non at all, just cruise.
@@Marketingparle I've been keeping a close eye on the ranges people have been reporting on the e-208 group on FB too. Having also driven it myself in single digit temperatures at motorway speeds over night, I got about 150 miles which is good enough for me. Ioniq has been the efficiency king for ages but I personally couldn't live with the shortcomings. In particular how slow it is. Each to their own - so glad we're really starting to see some decent choices!
please do more hybrid or plug in hybrid reviews, I have limited ways to charge at home and two of my choices a Lexus CT200h hybrid or BMW 225 xe plug in not been reviewed by you really struggling if to go hybrid or plug in hybrid
Content good. I like Kate's voice a lot: its a great voice, and she comes over as a lovely and bright lady with a good plain English accent. (I'm a Northerner, so that is a big plus for me, and I like the way she calls a derriere a bottom!) . The sound quality is a bit lacking on this viddy, though: a bit twangy and cheap sounding, if that makes sense? .
Sorry but the 155 mile max range is a deal breaker for me regardless of how efficient the car is. IMHO if you buy the car as your primary vehicle it needs to have the most range possible, no less than 250 miles and better if it has over 300 miles max range so that it is useful for local and long range usage. Alway enjoy your videos. Thanks
I have had this car 6 weeks. I drive 24 miles each way to work 1/2 distance on motorway, driving like I did in my ICE. I get around 5.3 miles/KW in the mornings (slower driving speeds) had a couple of 6s and 4.3 in evening drive. Definitely over 155 miles. And would reckon in the summer will easily get 210 +
Both my wife and I have the ionic electric and we agree with everything you brought up! This is an excellent affordable choice for families!
Really good look around the car, thankyou! The only review I've seen that shows the adjustment of the wheel, reversing mirror features, etc. Stuff that's really good to know.

Perfect antidote to ‘Grand Tour’ and ‘Top Gear’ which are just for entertainment and carry little information about cars. Looks like Hyundai have another winner.
"Ooh, look at the shiny cars!" That about sums up most of the online car reviews too these days. They just read out the press release verbatim.
I love that car I have one 2021
it’s soo efficient I have made several trips across the United States and Canada with it no regrets

thanks
Thanks guys, one of the best reviews of anything I have ever watched. Totally real world comments from a real world family. You made up my mind for me. Take care. :)
Thanks guys! That was a really helpful review which was fun to watch. This car keeps coming out as my favourite choice for my first EV when I research online. Your real world review has convinced me that this is the car for me.

And we have a lot of hills around here too.
One of the real strong points of the Ioniq is the possibility to coast (regen level 0), which really makes it feel like your on a flying carpet. :-)
We’re looking at the e208 vs the ionic as a family car, I’m so glad you brought this up in the review 😊
Ioniq all day long 👌🏻
Thanks to your review I have just got one of these pick up in couple of weeks. If you guys like it I'm sure I will
Excellent. You'll love it, it's a great EV and a great car all round 👌
What a great video! So many details, well done guys!! I'm getting mine in 3 days ;-)
Energy efficiency is important for those who want to get best value from home solar panels, especially in the UK.
His and hers matching jumpers 👌
Nice one guys. No lively debate is always missed when you two get going, but that is just a credit to the car. always been a fan of the ioniq. Styling for me is fine, however I just can't get used to the wheels. much prefer the wheels on the first edition ioniq. what you said about the leaf is so true. compared to the competition, people will eventually drop the leaf for other alternatives. As you say, you don't want to drive at 55 just to eak out the battery range. and I speak from experience. Ioniq - great car.
Such a fab review! Thank you!
Hi @@Jamesandkate, thanks for the reply! And judging by the fact that we have a 1 year old and a 3 year old boy... The MG it is😉
Great review this has helped me choose my next ev think this is gonna suit me perfectly moving from my zoe.
Wish they would produce more cars like this instead of these massive boxes on wheels with huge battery packs with poor range for the size of battery.
great review and two minds are better than one. just subbed. :)
Based on the rear visibility, this car would be so well served to have a rear view mirror that could be switched between ‘normal’ and digital.
for many reasons more and more people like ionic, i do too :)
ionic is iconic
@@ernestheming4866 i want one :0 they are cheap now, very cheap. £20k
Excellent review of the Hyundia, made up my mind to buy one. Thanks guys.
@@Marketingparle that's pretty amazing efficiency in bad weather. My Zoe would be at about 135 miles range doing that.
My first idea would be something like spray-painting the front bonnet panel black or dark grey. Possibly even add a token chrome strip.
The paddles to tune the regen are brilliant.
James and Kate have a couple of videos about taking their Tesla too the Service Station, but then the Tesla have Access to the Super Charger Network, so if you do a lot of miles daily the Tesla might be more suitable.
you can buy a 38 kwh one for under 30.000
but comparing with the 28 kwh what are the differences over
1 - charge speed is faster on 28 2 - better miles kwh based on 28 kwh = 130 miles = 4.643 miles vs 38 kwh = 160 -= 4.177 miles
3 - Different lights
We are getting over 172 miles in the winter, with rain at 65-70mph on the motorway. On a warm(er) day last week, I hit 6 mpkWh on the way to work, but I think this was wind assisted.
DC charge speed in faster on 28
Nice homely review. What is the range like if you are mainly doing town driving? Does the range increase like the MG does?
Great video, does the Ioniq have an app for preheat and checking charge remotely?
Yep, and it works! My last two EVs apps were sketchy to say the least.
I had the ioniq for 3 years and loved it, but needed something with more battery and more gadgets in the car, so I’m getting the model 3 in September and hopefully won’t have too many issues with it.
split rear screen is one of the reasons the ionic is so efficient on motorways...
I m getting one on Lease, if it is as good as you say I will probably buy a used one after the Lease finishes
PS: liking the updated intro BTW
Great review! Thanks guys.
Great car, the only problem being that Hyundai don't make enough of them, and they're still a tad expensive for what you are getting range-wise.
Oh, it is not expensive in Germany at all. You get 8000 Euro off by Hyundai, so that is fair.
Range is better than you might expect from the size of the battery.
The point is efficiency!
So the range is better than the e 208 for example.
Yes I'd love some reductions like that in Australia, I'd buy one tomorrow.
I'd take the MG5, it has good space. If you can stretch to a facelift it's got loads of extra tech too.
@@Jamesandkate Thank you :) We have been offered a really good lease deal on the pre-face lift exclusive and budget can't quite stretch to the facelift model.
Which would you choose between the e-2008 and Ioniq?
Your intro says it's not as slow on charging as one says.
Yet you didn't review that with a test.
I showed the screen charging at 43kWs. However, the time to 80% was 46 minutes.
@@Jamesandkate oké, was that on a 100kW charger? I thought it was random impression shot. On 50kW charger it would be normal.
Good review, hopeing you are going to review the new Soul EV as we are expecting one next month. Thanks.
Lucky guy really like the look of the soul I have to save for it now
If you touch the brake pedal does not mean that you are using the brake pads. You can completely regen with the brake pedal without using the pads if you brake gently. Tesla are different.
What a lovely family 🎉😊 cheers!
Good review as always. What about against the MG that I think you own ?
I like this video so much! Thank you!
View versus the ZS EV then? 😊
Great review.
One thing I really like about Hyundai and Kia is they don't over exaggerate range estimates.
Thanks for the honest and excellent review, James and Kate. That lack of rear view would drive me to distraction! Can the rear camera be used as a way to improve that deficiency whilst driving?
yes , it is a lovely car.
I wonder if they have a panoramic roof option..
Another great presentation.
£32.000 is a lot for a car that's let down by its looks. If I'm ever in the market for an EV, I doubt this car would be on my shopping list. A friend of ours has owned four Hyundai ice cars and all have been impressive.
Please can you test Mini and Seat Mii when get the chance. I'd only consider a Supermini in the future, anything else too big.
Were you able to test the charging speeds using a DCFC? My 28kwh Ioniq can charge up to 65kw. I heard this new one is quite a bit slower.
Looking at one of these 2nd hand or a 40kwh leaf with pro pilot? Ideas
A comparison of reasonably priced evs would be most interesting.
Content good. I like Kate's voice a lot: its a great voice, and she comes over as a lovely and bright lady with a good plain English accent. (I'm a Northerner, so that is a big plus for me, and I like the way she calls a derriere a bottom!) . The sound quality is a bit lacking on this viddy, though: a bit twangy and cheap sounding, if that makes sense? .
What colour is the vehicle you reviewed please?
Love your videos! Do you happen to know the miles-per-kWh ? That's the real test of efficiency, and helps compare the car to other vehicles...
241km thats a little bit for me especially the price for it but moves for growth💯
What is the reasoning behind not having the 64kWh battery as an option?
It just won't fit.
@@gregoryosullivan Im sure something close to 64kwh would be doable.
@@samusaran7317 Not with the cells used in the current 64kWh pack.
Cost
And would reckon in the summer will easily get 210 +
Tossing up between this (2020) or a Nissan Leaf. The screen position is better in Ioniq and CSS.
Drive both, but id strongly recommend ioniq, feels much more Premium
@manfornehm394 can't afford either. Sticking to car share apps for now. Corolla Hybrid is best bet in those apps.
How much more range dose the mg5 standard range have over this car
Have you still got the MG ZS EV and the Tesla
Have you guys booked to test drive a Mini electric? Not ideal for kids I know but still await your honest review.
