    Clayton...you inspired me to go and focus on some wallies at a local lake filled with boaters, kayaks, jetskis....but close to home.
    Yesterday I caught a 4 lber and a 7 lber on a completely overfished lake.
    One of my favorite days fishing.
    I could almost hear your voice saying
    "If you are patient, you can get a handle on a lake and break it down and score." (Clayton)
    I also was so eager to get that big wally back in the water as quick as possible. I almost forgot to get a picture.
    These big fish are the future of this lake!! (Clayton)
    Your videos are educating!!
    I don't even share any photos with the locals anymore....they always say....("Well you sure as he__ didn't catch that fish on this lake!!)

    When you are at that last point when it gets calm, our cottage is like 1/2 mile south of that. Turquoise cottage white boat house on the point. If you go straight out from there in 23-30 feet you'll find eater walleye.

    Can you do a video on targeting fish that are suspended between 25-35 ft in deeper water? I'm struggling to get fish in the boat these days.

  • @rc145
    @rc145 3 роки тому

    Can you explain why you're always pulling out a foot of line when landing a fish? I've seen this in many of your videos. At first I thought you were testing your drag but at 11:33 you do it when the fish is coming up near the surface with no resistance.

    • @ClaytonSchickOutdoors
      @ClaytonSchickOutdoors  3 роки тому +2

      I adjust the exact length I want to keep the fish in the water with still applying pressure so I can land the fish. It's all a feel thing, because you don't want to apply to much pressure at the water surface and pop the hook. In that case you are looking at I had reeled him a little too far to make a smooth transition into landing it.
