I had the same issue on my 13 jeep wrangler and it randomly happened all of a sudden. Turned out to be the TIPM and cost me around 1200 bucks. Its good as new now.
I know the Liberty and many other vehicles have had the ignition switch actuators break, causing a no start condition many times? I replaced one on the ladies Liberty across the street many years ago? Just a little help, if you haven't thought of that issue before? Good luck in the chase? By the way Dorman makes the replacement actuator, if you didn't already know? Just trying to help a fellow mechanic?
How do you like identifix? It looks like it’s D.I.Y. portion works with windows and ios! Which would be nice because I use an iPhone and iPad. Thanks for the vids. Tom
What would you say your favorite resource for wiring diagrams is? Im working on an 08 Liberty right now actually. Customer hit a pothole really hard and after having battery, alternator, and starter replaced, still no crank no start. Starter is getting power, accessories all coming on. Run/start relay clicks and is grounded but doesnt have power. Trying to find out if maybe some wiring got knocked loose
i have had several of them that the fuel pump relay stopped working and found the Star report for installing a external fuel relay and havent had any problems wonder if it would work on this one for your problem have never looked to see if there is a star report on your problem
Yeah, I’m not sure about that. There were a lot of other issues going on with this vehicle. I have a feeling it was a widespread internal issue inside the tipm. I’m curious, I may try to open up that old module just to look for signs of damage. It sucks though, because there is core charge for this unit. I usually keep these old fuse blocks! They come in handy having all those extra fuses and relays 🤣!
We had a similar issue. Engine light and tire reading law. Started where keyfob only activates alarm and unlocks Jeep. Won't lock with fob or switch on door. Came home smelling like burning plastic. Checked everything. No start. Then, complete power loss. Sending tipm to make soon.
I am half way through this video, and what I am going to do to mine is unplug and re plug the tipm. Look for any green crusties, plug and unplug that plug in and see if my engine temperature and radio human interface module gets corrected. Shoot my Bluetooth phone module might even work.
Well that sucks to hear? My 02" Renegade was the best damn vehicle I have ever bought new, and owned to date? I'm a 50 year old master mechanic, but been disabled for the last 20 years? They must have made a bunch of bad changes to the platform, not for the better, obviously? The only difference the original model I owned to the next year was the fan had a Hi/Lo extra relay, instead of just a single speed fan on mine? The brake style changed in the rear, also? Never had any issues with the TIPM in mine? I got a 2011 Compass from my inlaw's, once I regrettably sold the Liberty to a friend at 155K? The Compass is the biggest P.O.S. compared to the Liberty, even at the very low 25K it had on it a few years ago? The CVT is on it's way out at only 58K, now?
They are, I was looking a conflicting diagrams though. Some are not always correct. Have to watch out for that..went down a rabbit hole for a bit on this one 😂
Wonder why did they put very important fuses hard to find! They should be all in a special fuse holder and labelled in case you blow a fuse in middle of knowhere a 1000 miles from home!! 😮
I was looking at multiple diagrams. The first one I pulled up was wrong. So that made things fun. However, you’re right! They do seem to be spread them out. And some fuses, power other fuses, which power other modules or relays that come back to the tipm and power fuses. It’s just an over complicated system in my opinion. But hey, nothing a good diagnostic process can’t figure out! Thanks for watching!

I like identafix. It’s pretty comprehensive. Have prodemand as well. Having more than one service data programs is idea. None of them are perfect.

@@mattwright5013 OE diagrams are typically my go to. I like identafix it has multiple options.
Good job 👍
Thanks Norman!

Yes it will

This is a brand new channel, so I greatly appreciate your support! Thank you very much and stay tuned. Have a couple videos, I’m working on right now!
My guess is bad tipm. Of course a new tipm would cure this but no way can I Afford that on mine. I will pull mine out and put it back.
You can send it to circuit board medics to solder it and fix it it works and cheaper than buying another tipm
Tipm at a junkyard is $50

Awesome fucking video
They put important fuses all over in different places!

Be careful you don't set off the security system when you change the tipm
I posted a follow up of the fix. TIPM replacement, all went well! Thanks for watching!
@@BigDogDiagnostics It cost me 1111.00 for a key, module and the labor
k4 and k10 relays are blinking
The most important start and run fuses should be all on one fuse box and labelled!!
They are, I was looking a conflicting diagrams though. Some are not always correct. Have to watch out for that..went down a rabbit hole for a bit on this one 😂
There's a few companies that repairs those Tipm
Yep. There’s quite a few.

They want us to take it to dealership or buy a new car! They dont want peaple to find out their wiring diagrams and copyrights!
Find the wires that feed the circuit and make a relay block external... Freaking Tipm is junk!
Diagnosis? It’s Chrysler doing what comes naturally. Stop interfering with nature.😂
Another case of TIPM and shipm. Such a crap design man.
Yeah, just seems like such an overcomplicated design.. all the manufacturers do it now it seems like..The days of a simple fuse block are over..
