Karius, Mendy, De Gea etc have all made horrific errors in Champions League and World Cups. Most goals scored at every level of Football are because of bad plays from the conceding team...

Referee did everything he could to help Austin. Still couldn't win.
When you’re down 2-0, winning is no longer the goal. Simply getting a result (one point) is a great accomplishment. A tie never felt more like a win than last night.

The call wasn’t wrong and those people aren’t referees in any respect
Orlando should have won. Referee mistake. VAR mistake! Before that last corner kick of the goal. Ball hits Austin player in the head it should have been Orlando’s Kick and Austin should have never gotten the corner kick to begin with.
Might need two eyes or more eyes on that screen in Atlanta. These are the kind of easy mistakes that change games. Not acceptable.

I seriously have a negative understanding of the handball rule at this point
First one is good. Arm is in a unnatural position and it is a shot on goal
Second one is for a good debate. He does move his elbow out but he jumps slightly and only a little movement from it. I have it to no hand but based of he moved it out. It is for debate

MLS, take a bow. Are you proud of this? Do you think this is good? This only happens against Orlando, these stupid calls. Credit to Austin, they actually played decent but no circumstances should they have been helped as much as they were. And they even made bad calls against Austin too? I can't even comprehend the logic of these calls. He's not even biased towards a team, he's just simply an awful referee. The first red, I can't even explain it, it was just an dumb call. Not a yellow leading up, NOT EVEN A HANDBALL FOR THE SECOND. I do understand the second red though. But! The second goal, what was the previous call. That was just simply not a corner. Oh and one more thing, you used the Austin commentary. You used that to justify YOUR ref's awful decisions? I can't believe it. What about that Jansson yellow card? Every other referee in the league would book him. Because it wasn't anything. And it's not shown in this recap for this reason. MLS, I know you don't care, I know you won't do a thing. You've done this plenty of times to Orlando in the past. Nani last year (or two seasons ago, can't remember) was sent off for something not even close to a foul. Just see the comments on the video, YOU POSTED. What about the game against Nashville, where at the death Daryl Dike's goal was ruled out for a foul on someone somewhere. Where? Fantastic question! MLS, fix this. You want to be one of the 5 major leagues by 2040? Solve this. Those dreams will never be accomplished with things like this. Apologize, or just at least cancel Schiegel's suspension. MLS, you should be ashamed

As an Austin fan I can agree to some of these things
first red is an easy double yellow. handball outside the box causes a fk and a yellow. second is that he strectched is elbow out and hit the ball. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was strying to shoulder it but none the less hits his outstretched elbow. I couldn't see the corner from where I was sitting in the stands so i'll concede that but why are you bitching about MLS using the home teams commentary like they always do (unless it's national)??? weird, good day.

The red cards were unfortunate but all made sense. Blocking a shot a goal with a hand ball is an automatic yellow, and the kickout on ring is an obvious red. Only miscarriage was the corner Austin scored on that should’ve been a goal kick.

However, both were in line with his body, so neither should have been given as a yellow, just a foul
What you need to talk about is how MLS is making the critical calls from the MLS headquarters in NYC. The final decision is not left up to the referee. They are literally fixing the games from NYC. They are probably doing it for gambling reasons or they doing it to help teams like Austin, Atlanta, Charlotte etc that have mega billionaire owners and they figure these cities are very critical to MLS progression. This type of refereeing has become quite obvious over the last 5 years. MLS is doing everything in their power to make certain teams a success or to keep the buzz going. MLS use to help NY Redbulls all the time due to the team having tremendous trouble getting fans in Redbull stadium. It’s quite obvious that MLS is helping Austin here. Orlando is my team and I watch a few other teams like NE, Timbers, Sounders etc but it’s difficult for me to get invested in MLS. The league is bad in all aspects. To be honest, although it’s a lower tier league, the USL is a better officiated and better run league than MLS. USL is ground up and MLS is top down and that’s the problem.
Never in a million years is the 2nd handball a yellow card. It's not even a foul. His arm didn't extend out from his body. It's literally in the rulebook that your arm has to be outstretched. They got that decision wrong 100%
Which ended up losing the W for Orlando.

Watching the Orlando keeper cry and throw a temper tantrum after the second goal was so satisfying. I get it, I know it’s a part of the game, but I’ve never seen worse blatant stalling than that keeper. Dude was doing it in the first half even! Every goal kick, every save, every single thing became a lesson in patience. FFS, you’re a grown ass professional ball player, every time you grab the ball you don’t need to throw yourself to the ground and then act like you’re close to death. You want to take an extra second or two, understandable, but calling out the medical staff every play is borderline cowardice. Disgusting, really. Soooo glad to see him crying like the big baby that he is.

Wasn't sure what to make of this game: the 2-2 draw, Orlando playing with 9 men (for the short time), or whatever else caused this game to be whatever it was... ??
Alright, before I go into this rant, I’m going to congratulate referee Joe Dickerson and VAR Rosendo Mendoza on their assist on Austin’s first goal.
That was arguably the most biased game I have ever watched across all of America’s sports leagues. The calling was abysmal and disgraceful. I swear that Dickerson has 12 teams he calls games in favor of and 12 he calls against. He does this across the entire league. I mean, in the 7 games he’s called for Orlando, we’ve lost five times due to poor officiating. That PK had Schlegel’s arm tucked in and that should not have been called. That should have, if anything, gone to the monitor, but Mendoza decided to take his check rather than do his job. Four “corners” on our side came off of Austin players, the goal being the only one I wasn’t sure about. Yet, 16 fouls, just under half of them being stupid, were in Austin’s favor.
And last time I criticized a referee like this, 50% disagreed and the other agreed. An MLS analytic even immediately jumped to the ref’s defense, so I’ll just say don’t judge this game off of the statistics afterwards. If you watched that game on your television as a mutual or someone who has enough respect for the game to admit when you’re wrong, then you can truly see my concern.
If you’re an Austin supporter who will try to justify it, don’t. Honestly, I’m amazed that you didn’t win with all the help you got, still carrying some of that luck from last season.
In short, get people like Dickerson out of this league. Matchfixing has to stop!
By the way, no hate to Austin fans. You guys, overall, played a good game.
As a neutral watching from Canada, it looked like this game was fixed, nothing less. Dreadful calls on the reds, the penalty, the time added... Just something very off about that game.

FIFA needs to think about some kind of "Referees Exchange" program. Unfortunately, unlike player and coach, referee is not a full-time job. So, referees barely can't move out their city, let alone country.

Player on Orlando got butthurt Ring stepped on his foot (INCIDENTALLY) while coming down and reacted by kicking back at him = automatic red card for retaliation.

They were both pretty soft reds but reds none the less, second was questionable but first although looks dumb makes sense

@@gshotatx ye unfortunately for everyone "soft" doesn't mean anything when it comes to violent conduct. look at the kick-out jozy had last year on opening day. was a really whimpy kick at a player running past him but since it still falls under "violent conduct" it's still a automatic red. not saying I agree but that's what IFAB decided.

I Went to this game and tbh I think orlando was a little toxic but their are alright I guess. I think the orlando goalie was slow and orlando kept floppin and faking fouls but that other half was hype and the whole game was complete hype!

Good job Orlando,the ref made some bad calls here, San Antonio looked weak and barley scored the 2nd goal didn't deserved that point at all but even a blind dog gets lucky once in a while.
There was no hand ball at all ,no penalty,the ref helped austin .
And this is why the MLS is still a chump league compared to what's in Europe. The Prem, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1...aren't perfect, but WAY better officiating than the pathetic joke of a league called MLS. And this goes beyond this Orlando game.

-Outshot 22 to 12
-Out-possessed 72% to 28%
-Austin FC hit the post twice
-Gifted 2 goals off Austin FC blunders
If both teams are at full strength Austin FC wins 9 times out of 10 based on what I saw.
Austin was lucky to get a point up two men at home.
@@jacksondowney4327in this particular game, both teams were lucky to receive a point for separate reasons. To say Orlando didn't get lucky in their own right with 2 gifted goals + Austin hitting post twice is laughable.
Fyi..It could have been 4 2 if Orlando had not missed two clear goals.

@@alexvalaitis3342 I'm not sure what a "gifted goal" is. Austin can't play through the press, and other teams know this. Had Schlegel not been shown a red card (and it's debatable that either handball deserved a yellow), Orlando wins the game easily.
