Good work Nikki.
It’s New Zealand thanks
Thanks good information.
Why not convert the prices to NZD?
This really enforces why i will not go full ev.
Those EV energy consumption numbers sound really low. Did you mix up MWh vs GWh or TWh? My home solar kit generates about 10MWh in a year so I find it bizarre that all of the US EVs is about that...
Ambition is beyond the battery technology. Battery technology is not there yet. Battery technology has 3 challenges: charging times need to be same as fueling an ICE car; extreme cold/hot weather degradation needs to be addressed ; and easily upgrading batteries in existing EVs (plug and play aspect).
Hyundai is my next electric vehicle Nikki.
Akio Toyoda might right all along. For every EV, the lithium content could be used for 6 PHEVs or 90 hybrids. This is known as the 1:6:90 strategy. Every little bit helps in lowering fuel consumption whether it is pure EV or hybrids. Remember, Toyota made electrification a reality with the introduction of the Prius. This laid the foundation for Tesla down the road. As long as fuel consumption declines, the solution can be EV or hybrid.
You just can't resist throwing in a Tesla negative. I guess you are at least consistant.
I'm in Aotearoa, I own a tesla and tsla$. Want to dicuss this in person, do you have the balls? Nikki is 100% correct.
There are 16.5 Million EVs out of the 1.2 Billion light duty vehicles in the world on the road today (from IEA). That is minuscule and most of them are in China which means the rest of world won’t drastically change to EVs until the industry solves the known issues with EV ownership.
