I started street photography with a second hand FujiX100f after the depressing Covid lockdowns. It is such a fun camera and I love using it. I have always wanted a Ricoh because of its 28mm lens which might encourage me to get closer. You're right to say that making photo is the goal we're all after. I love film photography for various reasons, one being that its limitations give me more satisfaction and sense of achievement when you get a pic right, even just one from a roll of film. So far I did make one photo I like from the MP I bought last year, which is out of focus and blurry, not intentional but the subject and composition please me. My plan is like yours, make lots of photos, enjoy the experience and hopefully become a better photographer. Greetings from the Netherlands, Chris
yeah i was a much change needed change for me just like you after the lockdowns. yes the lens will force you to get close. yeah i have to remind myself that it's about photographs and not about the medium. yeah i love film so much too for this exact reason, it's hard to predict, the rush of getting the scans back and the emotional investment in the photos is so much more than digital but yes you're right we just have to make photographs by any means sometimes and not by one's that appeal to us more. thanks so much for commenting Chris! let me know how you get on!

Hi Alex, actually in the same boat with a switching from film and the expense. Two quick questions from me, how do you find the grain of the images (not sure if you have shot at a 1600 or 3200). Also is have you had a chance to use the view finder and would you recomment picking one up?
hey mate, i have shot at that i find the files very clinical personally i've just spent time in LR refining a preset / adding a bit of grain in post as the photographs were very clean imo. and yeah man i got the tt artisans one from amazon it should be around £50 . hope that helps
