Oh yes it is! I’m living in Japan right now and fashion here is really high in standard. Impressive, and also no one really cares so you can express your style freely
I actually like the colorful fashion that Japan has, I will love to go there one day and see it for myself. Not sure I would have the confidence to wear it though.
The thing I recommend for getting confidence is just fake it until you make it and slowly interpretate some of the Japan fashion into your normal style more and more. For example if you like Decora, instead of going full out the first time just throw on a colourful jacket or some bright and colourful hair pins onto clothes you would normally/comfortable wear. But I agree with you on going there someday. The fashion styles are one of the many reasons why I want to travel there.
I know this is an old video but that Nike Air shirt is honestly the most glorious thing I have ever seen. Truly, I have never coveted a piece of clothing more in my entire life. The entire asthetic in that store is amazing.

But when it comes to the subgenres and the kinds of looks that you see on runways, I feel like Western fashion is just kind of weird and not put together. @@Leah-yh5sj Yeah, I gotcha. I really like their style of clothing, especially the pictures. I never really liked runways because they are boring, you just see a person walk back and forth. So yeah, I understand. I guess what they're doing isn't necessarily new to the west (cutting and mixing up clothes) but the fact that their putting their own unique spin on it makes it really cool to see. But there is less variety and openness of clothing in the west and you have to go to small shops to get the stuff close to what you see in the video. But I get what you're saying.
you have to differ between american and european fashion as well though. for example the runway outfits of brands like Armani, Dior, Versace and co are very much put together within the collections.
