RinRin did right by you. But you guys did such an excellent job of showing the range and creativity of street fashion scene. Much respect for the work that went into this. I love how much research and effort you put into learning about places you are visiting so you can present an accurate snapshot of the place to your audience! Your time and energy does not go unnoticed!
I have always been in awe of the usage of colour and different materials plus layers of clothing used in harajuku street fashion. I wish I could wear some layered styles but where I live it's 24/7 hot so I just can't lol
I actually love how Japanese fashion actually emphasizes that the clothes are not meant to be sexy and show off skin but rather it be more about a really cool looking style. I think the Mode trend is my favourite 👌

This was amazing! This is exactly how you should visit another country and embrace the culture! Rinrin was so sweet and helpful, it really made the video ❤️❤️❤️
You have a great attitude when it comes to cultural differences, and I love it! I remember reading about different cultures in school (social studies, i think) and the biggest thing that stuck out to me was my teacher explaining that foreign cultures aren't WEIRD. They're just different. Understanding that distinction really helps me to keep an open mind . I always keep that in mind when watching videos like this. I love seeing you do videos like this, and I hope you do more.
Ashley L it's crazy how a good teacher can make such an impact on your life and the way you see the world, then the opposite about bad teachers! Bless those good ones they help shape the future by doing right by the youth! So appreciative of them 😸😊♥️♥️
Tbh, this video was very formative for my own fashion sense. Introducing me to the existence of mode style especially shaped how I've chosen to dress since. Plus now I remake some of my own clothes, which is benefited by my love of buying second hand clothes. Thank you for showing such variety of styles that don't get as much exposure :)
Well, I guess that's your taste. To me, it's not boring it's just different. And not everyone in Tokyo wears this, like they said in the video, it's more of a model style and less of a casual, everyday look. But yeah, the way they dress pretty cool.
@@Justanidea5976 oh I totally see what you mean! To be honest, my original comment was just a condensed, simplified version of my thoughts that I put out onto the internet, but I have a more complex view of fashion overall. As far as the street clothing that like, 95% of people wear goes, I really do like Western fashion (specifically American). But when it comes to the subgenres and the kinds of looks that you see on runways, I feel like Western fashion is just kind of weird and not put together. Whereas I feel like the kind of looks Safiya wore in this video have a purpose, albeit and complicated/unique/crazy one. Does that make sense? I'm not always great at putting my thoughts into words.
@@Leah-yh5sj Yeah, I gotcha. I really like their style of clothing, especially the pictures. I never really liked runways because they are boring, you just see a person walk back and forth. So yeah, I understand. I guess what they're doing isn't necessarily new to the west (cutting and mixing up clothes) but the fact that their putting their own unique spin on it makes it really cool to see. But there is less variety and openness of clothing in the west and you have to go to small shops to get the stuff close to what you see in the video. But I get what you're saying.
you have to differ between american and european fashion as well though. for example the runway outfits of brands like Armani, Dior, Versace and co are very much put together within the collections. Japan and Korea are like a few seasons ahead when it comes to streetwear but they lack the classical sartorial suits and outfits most french and italian brands do.
It's a shame you didn't do Tyler as well at the same time, I would have loved to see some of these styles in the male version. Thanks for the vid Saf :)
I was like, " yes yes...... Tyler, what are you doing behind Saf?? Oh, oh, oh dear, ice cream hit the concrete. " that was the inner workings of my mind there in that moment
xmasonfieldingx hum? Could it be possible that you're mistaking her for Venus Angelic or are all the doll like girls problematic like that. I'd be super sad because I was deceived though. Edit: looked her up and she seems clean, pretty much no drama unless you want to enlighten me lol
It would be really interesting to see her do a sorta “extra” video about styling these pieces in the US. Seeing these sorta avant-garde pieces mix with Western fashion trends and Saf’s own wardrobe. This was an awesome video, btw. Japanese street fashion is always visually stunning!
I really adore how open you are to new fashion! This was an amazing video and gave us a great insight on Tokyos fashionscene. Can't wait for the third part!
This is my favourite type of video. So explorative and adventurous where most fashion vloggers just showcase the same type of clothing (nothing wrong) but I actually love Safia for getting out of her comfort zone.

These looks are supposed to be unisex, but I get what you're going for.
most of them quite andrognous
Yess. He needs to be in these!
Tyler trying to nonchalantly eat the ice cream in the background with out making a huge mess 😅😂
Hillary Marshall I was looking for this comment lol
I was like, " yes yes...... Tyler, what are you doing behind Saf?? Oh, oh, oh dear, ice cream hit the concrete. " that was the inner workings of my mind there in that moment
Hillary Marshall scrolling specifically for this comment😂
RinRin was soooo sweet and welcoming! I loved seeing you two together!
RinRin melts my heart shes so nice and open to everyone
20:02 wtf RinRin is super adorable she literally seems like the sweetest person you'll ever meet
xmasonfieldingx hum? Could it be possible that you're mistaking her for Venus Angelic or are all the doll like girls problematic like that.
I'd be super sad because I was deceived though.
Edit: looked her up and she seems clean, pretty much no drama unless you want to enlighten me lol
xmasonfieldingx xd I get where the confusion may have come from
It would be really interesting to see her do a sorta “extra” video about styling these pieces in the US. Seeing these sorta avant-garde pieces mix with Western fashion trends and Saf’s own wardrobe. This was an awesome video, btw. Japanese street fashion is always visually stunning!
Hailey Bricker I would like for her to wear the exact outfit in the states to see how people react lol
I really adore how open you are to new fashion! This was an amazing video and gave us a great insight on Tokyos fashionscene. Can't wait for the third part!
26:09 - tyler struggling with the ice cream is a eternal mood
No matter what Saifya wears, she is always so aesthetically pleasing to look at
lol tyler in the back with his icecream
B P I JUST WAS ABOUT TO COMMENT ABOUT THAT!! I just hit that part in the video😂
and the fact that saf completely didnt acknowledge it either
Glad you noticed too. I actually laughed out loud watching that part
I was like Tyler isn't handling that ice cream very well
Chloe Ana that part was so funny I was totally cracking up too
"sneaky???? SNEAKY???"
I read this in Dobby voice. 😂

I legit get anxiety over how much these multiple outfits must cost! Saf, you are so lucky to have such wonderful opportunities!
This is my favourite type of video. So explorative and adventurous where most fashion vloggers just showcase the same type of clothing (nothing wrong) but I actually love Safia for getting out of her comfort zone.
Tokyo and Seoul’s street wear is on a whole other level. I need to take notes.
good
