Darren, Your simply the best weather man that I have ever watched. Awesome delivery along the incredible graphics. Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Thank you Darren!! I truly enjoy nerding out on weather with you 🤓 very fascinating to learn these terms, the separate parts of the storms and other weather phenomena. And ofc an excellent and accurate forecast ❤️🙏🏽
I have a creek running through my property. It rarely goes over its banks. I’m around Penngrove. I shall be keeping my eyes open on my creek. It’s 12:30 pm and my usual standing water spots aren’t too bad. But, it’s early.
Please zoom in on the lower half of the screen to assist us in seeing intermittant color changes showing pink within the wind speed indicators travelling over the overall vicinity of Watsonville's inland areas up to Aptos and inti the Santa Cruz Mountain Foothills. We really don't benefit from seeing the graphic in the upper area when it comes at the expense of being able to discern such questionably tiny wind indicators, especially while watching on a phone.
Weird he can't seem to land on mentioning Eureka or Humboldt. He got Mendocino, Arcata and Del Norte. When the obvious bullseye is on Eureka and Humboldt. Lol.
Great explanation of the terminology. I think that these terms weren't used as often in the past even though they existed is that news media is much more sensationalized now.
Maybe you don’t know how satellite maps work? when they zoom out, you only get a small number of cities. When you zoom in then you get the detail of the smaller cities and towns. Just like Google maps.
The term "bomb cyclone" is definitely over hyped by the media...no surprise there. It's better to refer to it as an extratropical cyclone that underwent rapid intensification.
?? It's always been called bomb cyclone, these have happened forever.. the real BS is them claiming this stuff is new.. these people attribute everything to either climate change or some -ism..
@@arxligion These good old bomb cyclones - are charged with a whole lot of more water than in your early days. -> **Clausius-Clapeyron-Equitation** That's caused by rising global average temperature.
Atmospheric River is appropriate since it’s a prolonged stream of precipitation. Conventional storms rotate around a center and just tend to roll through an area. I dislike the bomb cyclone term however.

Thank you, Darren. You always do such a nice job.
Great, calm presentation, no drama, just info.
Darren is a rockstar of Bay Area meteorology! He drops the science on atmospheric rivers, ocean conditions and any kind of cyclone❤
Professor Darren once again flexing that knowledge! Love your mini weather lessons. Thank you and looking forward to the next one!

My comment above pertains to ~ 5:50
Watch The Wobble nobody's talking about the wobble😮

Boring

You mark only 3 cities in all of California - and 1 is not even affected?
How many people do not live in those 3?

Coolest weather report i ever saw but im only
72
Whatever happened to just having rain days now it’s either a bomb or a cyclone lol
Good report but could be said in 30 seconds. The guy rambles on, and on, repeating, over and over and over again the same info.
Holy crap you try to overexplain yet you go around not being clear
Do we need to brand everything? Can we just call it a storm? ⛈️
Seems low...already got like 5 inches in gualala
it is just rain....... :-)
Gotta worry about words like "bomb cycle", as the rural folks will accuse you of being "woke"...

"Bomb cyclone"??? lol at these new terms. Get a grip.
An we just go back to calling it a rain storm? “Atmospheric River” and “bomb cyclone” are so unnecessary 😂

I am the storm ⛈️
