  • Year 2008 is a special year for the country Bhutan, as it is a year that marks 100 years of monarchy in Bhutan. It is also a very special year for King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, 52, the much-loved monarch, formalize his abdication and place the Raven Crown on the head of his 28-year-old son, Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck, as it is the public coronation ceremony of the fifth Bhutan king.
    He was once honored as Prince Charming and has now been acclaimed the People’s King. Why is the Bhutan King so loved by his people even though he is one of the youngest monarchs in the world?

    The king and prince who massacred,raped and tortured tens of thouands of its citizens and tortured in 80's.No matter how good bhutan PR team is working to make it look like happiest country,bhutan have a very dark side.Still today thousand of Lhotshampas are denied rights by the monarch.

    • @wangchuklhamo4740
      @wangchuklhamo4740 Рік тому +1

      That's because lhotshampas were ungrateful and demanded a separate land for them. The ones who were no as stupid are very much a part of the country right now. Any sane monarch would do the same. Do not fall for one-sided stories, folks.

      Totally false. The massacre happened in Nepalese Royal family by the Nepalese Prince in Nepal. Not in Bhutan. But Yeah some Nepalese immigrants wanted to overtake Bhutan and resorted to terror activities in Bhutan but they were not successful. They falsely reported to world media that Genocide and human right violations were happening in Bhutan when Bhutan defended itself and retaliated against those terrorists. These Nepalese trouble makers appealed to human rights claiming ethnic cleansing. In the Refugee camps these Nepalese showed 100,000 Nepalese as refugees from Bhutan. The funny thing about it was the refugee camp was in Nepal and 100 % of those people were Nepalese. They were given free rations and relocated to America and western countries ( how nice - its a dream for most people in these regions ). Their Leader Tek Nath Rizal, main person who started this trouble in the beginning, was recently arrested by Nepalese Police in Nepal for running a racket and charging millions as fees for sending Nepalese people to America as refugees from Bhutan. These people were operating like the Chinese Mafia sending boat people to America but only one step ahead from the Chinese because the Nepalese clients were given legal status in America as refugees from Bhutan. The operation was exposed in Nepalese Parliament with connections to Nepal's top political leaders. Google for detail information. Their nexus was wide with connections to top Nepalese political leaders and possible cahoots with some members of UNHCR for issuing false refugee status to people from Nepal as refugee from Bhutan thereby leading the world to believe Bhutan was carrying out ethnic cleansing. Some world media also reported genocide and ethnic cleansing without actually visiting the supposed place of incident but based on hearsay. This scam needed to to be told as they kept fooling the world and made millions by maligning the innocent country of Bhutan.

      Keep your rubbish judgements to yourself. We are Bhutanese and our say has more validity than anyone's right now. Our King really cares for us and places people at the centre of every development activities. Just because you didn't see a leader like him, doesn't mean there aren't any. If you can't spread love, don't spread hate at least.
