I think it's a regulation in Japan where they need to put catwalks next to the track in case they need to evacuate people in an earthquake or something. But my memory's a bit rusty so idk
@@CitizenTaco If I'm not mistaken, I think it has more to do with their form of OSHA than earthquakes. Something about the catwalks being necessary to ensure that mechanics can safely (according to Japanese standards) inspect the track. But Earthquakes could also play a part in that too.
And there was actually a gangway over the entirety of the track? Did they also open it as a a walk-through experience or what XD
