  • Learn how to change the oil in your 2023 NIssan Frontier Pro X in under 10 minutes with this video with no jack required! From the amount of oil needed, to tools, to location of your drain plug, I cover it all in this video. I even cover how to reset the oil life on the dashboard of your truck.
    I've attached links to where I purchased the oil, oil filter, as well as parts used in the video.
    I also linked another great video that goes over how to change the oil on a 2022 Nissan Frontier which is the same body style but using a lift from a shop. They show how to tip the filter up slightly when removing from the tight space, so check their video out if you are struggling with removing yours.

    👍 Not sure if you have to do it every time, but there is a copper crush washer on the drain plug that may need changing.

      There are some mixed reviews on whether it has to be done each time. I will probably order a bunch of extras so that I can do it next time. I just didn't have one on me at the time and it is my wifes truck and she had to get to work soon. I appreciate your comment and watch! :)

      I appreciate your reply and comment so much! I am clearly not a professional and some people tend to not take that into account before commenting, I honestly don't even reply to the ones that talk about the littlest of things that I did not cover. I swear some people might add that to mention you need to breathe while replacing the oil lmao. Again I appreciate your comment and I hope your oil change goes smoothly!

    Whoops, my mistake. It is 5.3 quarts. I was looking at the Euro (imperial) quarts 4.3 . You are 100% correct and my earlier post was wrong.

    For what it’s worth I have changed the oil in many different vehicles and pieces of equipment and I never fill the oil filter with oil before installing and have never had an engine problem. In short it’s not necessary.

      I appreciate your comment! I've had a few different vehicles and have never had to prefill the oil filter as well, but when I looked up another video on how to do it for this one they had recommended it so I just went ahead and did it. I probably will skip it in the future as it is a pain to prefill and manage not to spill it onto myself in the reattaching process. Thanks again for the watch and comment! :)

      Thank you! I do love it and actually just posted a new video talking about some of my main likes and dislikes over the truck. Main likes include the headlights, body style, how smooth it drives, and the small details within the cabin. The only real dislike is how stiff the steering wheel is but I have gotten used to it and it has loosed up a bit. It has to do with the rack and pinion steering system which I have been told is better over time so it is actually a good thing. Check out the video on my page for more! I'm uploading a new one soon going over the differences between this model (PRO-X) and the SV. Thanks for the comment and engagement :)

    Not the worse instructions but by far, not anywhere near the best.
    Crush washer is required every time the oil pan drain plug is installed. Never explained how to reach in and remove and install the filter. Installing the skid plate oil filter plate and then checking for an oil leak is ludicrous.
    After drain plug and washer are installed and torqued to 25 ft-lbs, you then need to wipe the oil filter location surface clean with a rag, then screw in filter...hand tight.... and then clean up the oil on the inside of the skid plate. Then fill up the oil, run the engine, and THEN check for an oil leak from the filter and the drain plug. If that cover is place it hides the filter and oil could drip onto the skid plate and not be immediately known.

      By no means am I a professional, just wanted to make a quick video for people that want to change their oil. I also referenced the best video that I used to help me in my bio. I have seen mixed reviews about the crush washer needing to be replaced. I do understand the importance but I have a few buddies that are mechanics at nissan and say that they rarely do it. As for the torqued ft pounds, I referenced another video that gave me the one that I used. I will have to look up the correct one for the future. I didn't include every little step in my process since my phone while replacing the oil filter itself. Nonetheless I appreciate your critiquing and appreicate the engagement of watching and commenting! I hope you have a wonderful day :)

    I appreciate and respect you making this video, you may want to wear nitrile gloves next time. Used synthetic oil could be a carcinogen so protect yourself. An inexpensive set of ramps would also help you a great deal next time you do the oil.

    • @DoriiMariie
      @DoriiMariie  Місяць тому

      I usually wear gloves but had a tough time trying to record and change my oil. I have a whole box of nitrile gloves usually for this purpose. I have a set of rhino ramps but noticed that they aren't rated for the weight of this truck and I didn't want to risk being under it and something happening. I appreciate your comment and support of the video! :)

      That's a great question! When I looked it up online, and in the book at autozone, I saw both said to use the M1-110A. When I took the factory one off the truck, they were the same size but different brands. However, I was curios to see if what you were saying was true and when I googled it, they can both be used. The only difference between the two are that the M1-110A is slightly longer than the M1-108A and therefor has a larger surface area for the oil to filter. I hope this answers any questions you had! :)

    • @DoriiMariie
      @DoriiMariie  5 днів тому

      They can both be used actually! The M1-110A is just slightly longer and can allow for a larger surface area for oil. They both have the same thread size and are compatible with the truck, however I have seen that people with the older model (2000-2019) use the M1-108A instead.

    10k oil changes, you are brave. I would never... 3500-4k for me. Check out Z-1 OFFROAD for Nissan goods. You should install the steel oil pan skid plate, it is the OEM and not very big, comes with the 4 bolts, bolts up.. 23.00 at Z-1. piece of mind not leaving the oil pan vulnerable. Yes I have a 2023 PRO4X.. I love it.

      I know trust me I will never go that long before changing it again. I've bought a level kit from Z-1 off road before so ill be sure to go check out their steel oil pan skid plate, thats a great idea and thank you for sharing it :) Congrats on the Pro4x! I'm jealous of some of the extra upgrades you have on yours that are missing on the prox, but good choice going with the frontier over other small trucks on the market!

      @thewiseguy7100 Personally, I like the reliability on the Toyota brand as I use to be a Ford guy but didn't like the issue with their transmissions, so I went with Toyota and been really happy but now I'm hearing that's not the case anymore so looking for an alternative which the Nissan truck looks amazing.

      Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that, if it is still under warranty I would reccomend taking it in and not even bother with the customer service. They have to fix it if it is under warranty. I had an issue with my automatic lights staying on all the time. I took it in and they found the sensor was unplugged during an inspection, and they fixed it for free under my warranty. Again I am so sorry that is happening, i can't image how frustrating that might be :(

      I am working on a likes and dislikes video as we speak! As well as a video showing differences between the Pro-X version (shown in this video) & the SV version that I just bought. Looking to post it soon! Personally I have driven many Tacoma's while being an inventory photographer for dealerships and I never liked how stiff they were. They are extremely reliable but I can't get over the uncomfortablility factor and the toyota tax on it. New Tacoma TRD Pro are going for close to 60K...meanwhile you can get a Pro4x for around 50k
