    This is my first time watching one of your videos. I have to say, I just watched more practical, functional wisdom in these 13 minutes than I think I've ever seen. As the first teacher implied, there's a world of a difference between martial arts sparring and an actual fight, and for all the reasons he mentioned. I began training when I was only a kid, and there's a lot that's wonderful about martial arts of all kinds, but in my experience, most teachers don't do enough to clarify to students (a) those differences, and (b) exactly how any of what they teach is applicable to real-world situations. And by 'real world', I mean adrenaline-pumping, life-and-death, no-time-to-think situations that can happen in an instant. Having experienced a fair amount of both these scenarios, I really appreciate what you guys are doing here, and I think this should be required viewing. Cheers!

    Protecting ourselves or what we think worthwhile to save and fight in combat sports is a completely different issue, I think. I do not object to learn complicated, subtle techniques. But in street fight, simple technique may be useful to save what we want to save. One way is that we create a situation such that your adversary feel difficulty executing offense. Thank you very much.

    Please provide some ideas for an immediate "take down" , for us seniors. I am 71 yrs old, in less than good health, and also have my CCW...but would like to know how to quickly physically disable or stop an attacker, if need be. Thank you.

      @doctorartphd6463 a kick right to the knee, or a good hard stomp right around where the ankle is. If they can't stand up, they can't fight you.

    Just to clarify on the beard grab.
    It's "Terrible" to do in a demonstration but not in a real situation, if the opportunity presents itself.
    Today, you see a lot more guys than ever with full beards. It wasn't always like this where you had every day guys just sporting full, long beards.

    It takes many years of very hard training and proper instruction from high level martial artists/fighters to take people out in street combat. This is not it.

      Absolutely not true. It takes some knowledge so that you recognize the situation early enough, some training (not years) so that you have some basic skills, and it takes INTENT, a mentality where you are wiling to act and hurt another person.

    • @jasonblizzard9635
      @jasonblizzard9635 Місяць тому +1

      @stmartinhk Mentality is part of it, yes, but you are wrong to think just a little training is enough. You must be fighting drunks and weaklings, otherwise you'd know better. You must train a long time to be the person who dominates in street fights against one and multiple attackers. The correct mindset needs to be developed as well, and that is a process in and of itself, which involves losing, hating it, working harder, fighting against and again... It's a lifestyle as much as it is a mindset. These online courses are a scam.
