Such a peaceful and beautiful song you get to listen too before you march, or rather crawl through a jungle, into hell. I feel like its definitely trying to capture some of that idea of honor and glory in war the Japanese had(and, before WW1, most Western countries had)
When 2:06 hits I get the most intense chills, simply the most emotionally impacting part of the piece. Really makes you think about the honour and nationhood at stake in terms of the Japanese forces. As many people have also pointed out, the mix of eastern and western instruments is outstanding here. A tribute to both sides of the Pacific theatre. A most underrated soundtrack
Extremely underrated. It always sticks with me. But I guess it is one of songs that you have to be in a certain mood to really understand. I was showing it to my friends when we played some good game scores and they thought it was a really boring.

I always found it interesting how disciplined and faithful both the Germans and Japanese were, willing to fight any odds and almost unshakable in their determination, honor and duty to fight to the very end. What I believe really stands out is how they went about it; the Germans were logical, calculating and striving to be as efficient as possible, machine like almost, iron discipline, the Japanese on the other hand were more Spiritual and connected with their Ancestors, and did not want to bring dishonor or shame upon them. They both had the same mentality in the end of giving it all and till the very end, but they had a very different approach. With that said, same respect has to be given to the Americans, British and Soviets who fought against such forces, no doubt any mortal man would have been shaking to face such an fearsome opponent, where death was almost a guarantee.
Many more nations fought in this bloody war not just these 5 but stalin did once say that a million deaths is a statistic so i guess we just dont have the time to honour every countryman who fought in this war so we just focus on "major countries" but it is what it is
Wars is what shatters us, but when that is put aside it’s what brings us together. Part of being human we learn from our mistakes and that makes us stronger.
I miss this game so much. I'm really sad to see that my favorite WW2 video games either got abandoned or ruined over the years. People moved on from Rising storm to Vietnam and other games like HLL. HLL isn't bad but I don't like how big the maps are and movement and guns don't honestly feel as good as RS1. War Thunder - Used to be great WW2 game with great community. But now is suffering from way too many vehicles and nations being in the game. World of Warships - Also a great WW2 game with ships but was ruined by too many additions and stupid ideas.
+Emre Aydın Soviet Union alone had 21 million casualties, how about that? Even though I respect every single sacrifice that was made during World War 2, American one can't be compared to Soviet one, not in any aspect....
+Titan Mind It was their own fault though because they had to use pointless suicide tactics. The casualties would not have been so great without those.
+Applewille That doesn't change the fact that their sacrifice was the greatest. Life that was taken away is invaluable, regardless of the way it was taken or why it was taken.

Ricardo Gadelha No, you should get punched in the face for not liking this song period, nobody is comparing it to the original theme, the song on its own is magnificent, and took some excellent composing/thought.
Thank you, Rising Storm, for completely turning my Red Orchestra 2 game into some other game that I don't even have. I'm gonna buy this thing because I know I'll enjoy it, but I still think that Tripwire should care about some people not willing to buy it a bit more :)
God it's so sad that no one ever plays this game anymore because of RS2. I love the Pacific theatre aesthetic and as much fun as RS2 is I have never had more fun than going to a Banzai charge from one end of the map to the other. And as you can hear, the music was tight as fuck.
Tojo only took the prime position just before the Pearl Harbour attack and drove the already-prospering empire into a desparate one-way to hell, negating other possible options (of course his predecessors also share that fault).
