I have a 64 and have removed and replaced the radio so I know what a pain it is! I didn't have to remove the little duct though. I watched you and I knew how you were going to have to slant it to get it in. It took me a while to figure it out too. I also have gone to the LED lights and they make the instruments actually readable at night. Thanks for your effort to help other C2 owners!
I love this video. When I bought my Vette, it had an after market radio because the original one did not work. The doofus who owned the vehicle before me got rid of a lot of original parts. They saved the original radio and I had it reconditioned. I need to install it. I am missing that large bolt on the right hand side. It was thrown away of corse. Your video is perfect for me! I am also needing to remove the vents to get at a screw for the console that is underneath the vent on the driver's side. Another win for me, thanks to you!
I have a 64 with an after market radio that either doesn't work or the speakers are bad. I pulled the radio out with about 25 wires attached to it. Now I need to buy a radio but can't get to the speakers to replace them. What did you say regarding blue tooth. Is there a way to eliminate the original speaker. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I currently use a cheap Bluetooth speaker I got on Amazon for $20. There are companies that sell original looking stereos that have AF/FM with Bluetooth built it. There are some that will rebuild your original radio (if you have it) and add Bluetooth to it. Then you would still have to replace your dash speaker. It's not the easiest job, but is do-able. I recommend a cheap Bluetooth speaker for the meantime. If you want to replace the stereo, replace it with a Bluetooth capable unit. Then put in a good dash speaker since you're already in there.
@@beneddy75 That will solve major work for me and keep me from buying a radio that would require me replacing the old speaker. Thank you so much for getting back to me quickly.. I will also need to figure out how to get the antenna up, I think it originally was activated by the radio. I can just put a normal one on I hope.

Remove the entire glove box, which 😊makes things easier.
