This video shows some of the testing I did to make the robots play the drums. I didn't know anything about robotics before embarking on this project, it was a lot of fun to learn.

I think you already do. The definition of an algorithm is "a set of instructions for solving a problem or accomplishing a task" That must apply to sheet music.

The bassdrum you are using is a Roland one, the pedal has two sides on the hammer, one with a white/yellow powder on it, one that is just plastic. the plastic one is designed to use on electronic drums, the powder gets stuck in the bassdrum, making it malfunction

I went here cos I'm drummer my self, my niece 11 years ago called me KUKA because she could not pronounce my name till today 4 of my nieces calling me Kuka plus I have privileged working with this robots from build to commission whole application systems using this robots electrical and mechanical from last few months hmmm🤔 love this machines how smooth they are and quiet working.

I've said this before, but was a fan of your music BEFORE Timescapes and Solar Echoes (When you were known as John Stanford). I loved the original Deep Space and what you have done with it ever since. Congratulations on your success and hope you get to continue to create awesome content and music! @@mrduckhead0119 No, in this test video, none of that is CGI. They really are moving that fast. You can tell just by looking at the lighting, and listening to the sounds.

if i had a robot drummer there would be some fancy triplet 16th or 32nds on the hats. not some boring midi programmed shit.
A shame. In the actual video they looked so fake...
They're fake in this one as well, when they start playing. The lighting is totally different and the movements have clearly faked motion blur. Notice how it cuts between the (probably) real movements and the playing part.

Would be much more believeable if you left the servo sounds in and didn't have the whole arm recoil for the snare hits, obviously it would just use the wrist like a real drummer. Try again.

Watching it a few times, there's a few things that give away what's actually going on. Here's my theory: Everything after the first two initial shots is accomplished with editing and speed manipulation.
There's a little pink tag hanging on a string near the robots. In a couple shots you can see it rapidly moving back and forth, indicating the footage was sped up.
Whatever the case may be, I think it all looks a bit camp ;)
This goes against everything I believe in. As cool as this is, I’m strongly against robots playing drums. It replaces the human element of music. I’m not trying to be rude or saying that I don’t like the fact that you used robots to do something like this. But it subtracts the human element of drumming by 100%, and that’s a big problem. Samples do not belong in music, replacing real musicians. If what I say is rude, I apologize fully, but I must stand up for what I believe in, and unfortunately, that means I’m gonna have to give this a dislike.
maybe samples dont belong in the kind of music you listen, but in hiphop for example they play a mendatory rule
