Personally, I feel like as more large creatures come out, troodon actually benefits. This is mainly for a few reasons, for example: Most troodons now die because of bad hit boxes and very fast alt attacks getting them mid air However, larger slower creatures without the ability to rapidly spin around and catch them before they latch on, enables large troodon packs to successfully take down large prey which seems weird because troodon would be (potentially) good at killing small, large and extra large prey, but not medium sized (cerato, carno, etc)

This is what I've been saying for a long time now, a lot of classes will be obsolete regardless of what people say/think, with 60+ Dinos they have to make there'll be no way that all those will be played and AI will have to pick up the slack. I think its a waste of resources, time and money to make all those.
Very well said, they have spoke about splitting up the roster into different groups on different servers so that should help with population, I'd hate to see dinos never get used again
Unless the Devs bump up their player count to 200 then I can't see 60+ Dinos being played, MAYBE on unofficial servers, but I'm calling it now you'll only be seeing the most iconic ones being played. (Seriously who is going to be playing Homalocephale or Protoceratops?)
Not the power creep talk again... There's no power creep going on in the game, at least not yet. Cerato has more passive effects than other dinosaurs, but it doesn't put it any higher on the roster at all. Teno and Carno can still suplex the shit out of it in a fight if they're not ass, and everything that's smaller can easily get away from it. At best, you could argue that it's an instance of "feature creep," not "power creep" but even then, it's more so a case of previous dinosaurs having more simplistic designs compared to the newer ones, not them being left in the dust. Where was this whole talk when Pachy came out? That guy literally introduced a whole new gameplay feature with fractures that no other dinosaur even uses.

After playing this for a couple weeks, I can feel how some of them need a good polish. Simple things like Pteranodon needs its diet to make more sense for what it hunts for other players and maybe a "charge" peck for a right click so it can actually swoop in with better hit and run than just tickling them until they get away. Diet as a whole feels like it needs some tweaking as well. Troodon is such a neat concept but the venom mechanic resetting if another troodon pounces when the dino is meant to be in groups pouncing on prey? I can tell there's a great game here but I really do notice where it just needs more consideration to balance them all out and make all of the choices equally enjoyable with unique playstyles. I want to like Gallimimus but why would I pick something fast that picks on smaller creatures when there's others that do that already and what benefit do I get? There's hypsi's being interesting but not really worth playing because your growth is done and you're just meant to spit and run away any point you run into another player... @halfslyced They managed to differentiate Bary and Sucho pretty well by having the latter be a slow wading pelican and the former be a quick diving bear so it's certainly possible
Omnis work quite well now and bleed can properly kill things, but it does have its fucky hitboxes. Although cerato has a good kit now, I kinda worry about it's future when bigger mid tiers get added. Idk if a cerato could bully an allo or alberto off a corpse, so we'll just have to see about that. There are a few other animals that I think are already power crept without being added. From what we know, I think oviraptor will be absolutely pointless. I'm concerned that certain dinos will just be overshadowed by other ones completely like Troodon and Dilo, with what we are hearing and seeing about dilo makes it sound like it's going to overshadow Troodon in almost every way, Kissen said that Dilo might have the best NV in the game but hopefully Troodon's is better since Smaller dinos are suppose to have better NV and Dilo's venom is just way better than Troodon's the Hallucinations and Fog is super useful to Dilo since it allows it to do things Troodon can do like easily stay hidden to surprise attack and it won't need it at certain times but Troodon's only increase bite and pounce damage which sounds better but it feels underwhelming and pretty weak since even at level 3 it will take about 10 pounces to kill something like Pachy and Pachy only needs 1-2 and Cera's Bile feels more venomous than Troodon's actual Venom
@@halfslyced Would there be a point to play Troodon when Dilo is released? Troodon's venom just increases damage but Dilo could already do that damage with bite and hallucinations and it's less punishing, has Great NV, Fast, and just Overall just Troodon but better
@@YourAverageSpy955 yep... They really need to add mimicry for troodon. It would make for some really intelligent coordination and interesting interactions. To differentiate it from its more blood lusted cousin, dilo.
@@halfslyced The Mimicry would make it more unique but it wouldn't be too useful if you're just going to die right away, I was hoping they add more to the venom so it wouldn't be a worst Dilo and make it more viable, like have the venom Increase Stam consumption and Decrease Stam regen at level 3 to pressure a decision on the target to either run and risk having little stam to fight back or Fight back and risk having almost no stam to get away with that way Dilo's venom effects targets mentally while Troodon effects them Physically making both their playstyles and fights more unique.
60 playables (80% of them won’t be played) humans AND tribals?? I don’t think the developers realize how flawed this idea is on a fundamental scale. You can’t only have 100 players per server and no please don’t bring the “roster split🤓” argument because it makes 0 sense once you also include the other factions that are also planned for this game It can’t and won’t work, something needs addressed here and I feel as if not enough people are realizing how silly of an idea this is
Obviously not a omni main bc omnis ponce works its usually the user....competent omnis aka 2vs1 can unalive the following (carno cera tento stego) and if anyone says thats unfair omnis are almost one tap to all those listed, its usually a skill issue with omnis🤷♂️
I happen to play Omni the most, but the crazy ping and lag has done me no justice. But other than that, pounce has definitely improved optimization-wise. Pounce works a lot more than what I exaggerated in the video, so you got me there... But I shouldn't have to worry about the 1/10 chance that my pounce completely breaks. And yes it certainly is a skill issue most of the time, a lot of Omni players are just rats with scales 😭
I feel like thay should make different maps for different dinosaurs so thene you can only play the ones that are balanced equally and not throw random dinosaurs that never evolved to be in that time period it mite make some people upset but i think thats the only way to balance it so that all dinosaurs that are supposed to be strong are weak in all the weak dinosaurs are supposed to be weak aren't strong or i dk off topic but yeah thy should make dinosaur more diverse
i get the power creep idea, but like why you complaining that the new dinos have unique and indepth abilities💀its a good thing, and i feel like every point you make with "the old ones being useless compared to the new ones" is a bad point bc its pretty well said that they arent finished and will be recieving new things.
I am not complaining at all, that's the whole point, I want to see the older creatures being brought up to the newer ones level of depth. And yes they have confirmed the old ones aren't finished but them saying that then never updating them and all they do is rename Utah to Omni shows me they aren't going to be updating any of the old ones for a while. Or at least any time soon. And if they add creatures with fully fleshed mechanics without touching the old ones, then yes, people will begin to not play them as much and eventually not at all. Path of titans has fallen into this loop many times. But I have much more hope for the isle and I do know they will update all the previous creatures. I just hope they do it sooner.
Power-creep is the wrong wording I think, I believe it's feature-creep. They indirectly lead in some cases to power or more power of other playables, but some features added are just fucking dumb and clutter the playables. (Need I remind everyone of rex's weird bonebreak that didn't work until halfway through legacies lifespan?) Its only natural that they will have more features, the real problem is that they wont go back and add features to the older playables because this is the isle and their dev's are not only lazy but couldn't care less about the state of the game or its dino cast. They're obsessed with humans and becoming Tarkov 2.
I think everyone is wasting their time talking about the dinos when it's the game itself that needs help, how about you fix the game itself first then worry about adding and balancing. Lag, mixpacking (like you did here) and lack of food sources for carnivores in which mixpacking plays a part of. These are the real issues. But no let's add a new map and add more dinos, because let's all be honest most people who play this game don't care so all they want is more dinos.
Very well put... personally I hate how people treat it as a death match and suggest things to make it more like one. I want an immersive survival experience. Not a dinosaur battle royale. And thank you, I think this is a discussion that deserves its own video.
I don't have a problem with the pounce when it's actually working. Plenty of times IV seen omnis suspended in air after getting a crisp pounce on a carno. Or fall through the map and fall to their doom.
Can you put the in-game volume a little higher please? I think I was able to hear you every fourth word

@@YourAverageSpy955 yeah they could def make troodons venom more interesting.
60 playables (80% of them won’t be played) humans AND tribals?? I don’t think the developers realize how flawed this idea is on a fundamental scale. You can’t only have 100 players per server and no please don’t bring the “roster split🤓” argument because it makes 0 sense once you also include the other factions that are also planned for this game
It can’t and won’t work, something needs addressed here and I feel as if not enough people are realizing how silly of an idea this is
Especially since a lot of the creatures are smaller than a toaster, which feels like a waste of player slots and may as well be ai only
Obviously not a omni main bc omnis ponce works its usually the user....competent omnis aka 2vs1 can unalive the following (carno cera tento stego) and if anyone says thats unfair omnis are almost one tap to all those listed, its usually a skill issue with omnis🤷♂️
And yes it certainly is a skill issue most of the time, a lot of Omni players are just rats with scales 😭
i like that 6k people just listens to ur rants
It blows my mind too. Crazy to me that discussion vids do better than gameplay ones
i want to make videos like this, but ima teen. not many like to hear a voice of a "kid"@@halfslyced
Tbh this game is so bad now. Idk what the devs are doing anymore. Too many yes men around them.
Don't play it no one said y have to play it
@@arsedq5367that’s not the point, them leaving won’t make the game any better
I feel like thay should make different maps for different dinosaurs so thene you can only play the ones that are balanced equally and not throw random dinosaurs that never evolved to be in that time period it mite make some people upset but i think thats the only way to balance it so that all dinosaurs that are supposed to be strong are weak in all the weak dinosaurs are supposed to be weak aren't strong or i dk off topic but yeah thy should make dinosaur more diverse
Same things happening in path of titans
i get the power creep idea, but like why you complaining that the new dinos have unique and indepth abilities💀its a good thing, and i feel like every point you make with "the old ones being useless compared to the new ones" is a bad point bc its pretty well said that they arent finished and will be recieving new things.
(Need I remind everyone of rex's weird bonebreak that didn't work until halfway through legacies lifespan?)
Its only natural that they will have more features, the real problem is that they wont go back and add features to the older playables because this is the isle and their dev's are not only lazy but couldn't care less about the state of the game or its dino cast.
If you can't use omni's jump that's on you bc no one I know is having issues with it.
I don't have a problem with the pounce when it's actually working. Plenty of times IV seen omnis suspended in air after getting a crisp pounce on a carno. Or fall through the map and fall to their doom.
Your voice is really quiet and everything else is definingly loud pls fix
Fixed it in my latest discussion
Your voice is so low
I know, my apologies. It didn't sound like this before I uploaded it
Make your mic abit louder to improve you video quality bro
Thank you, IV been playing around with the volumes, it didn't sound this quiet while editing it
