Just bought A7 III with FE 28-70mm kit, for 1530$ brand new, for my first ever camera think this is a nice deal, especially since i never had any camera, all my life shooting on iPhone.
Thanks for a review! I ordered A7M3 and gonna use it with my Samyang 50mm f1.4 and 35-150mm f2.0/2.8. I will leave my old A7M1 as a backup for a kit lens and 50mm f1.8 😊
@@herokme For hybrid shooting if you save your optimal settings in the M1 or M2 recalls for photo and then use the Video mode for taking videos. You wont have to mess around with the PP settings or the autofocus settings.
my only problem with that is if i already have custom settings based on the scene (ex. if my M1 has auto WB set, but i need it at 4000k), then i have to set my white balance again every time i switch back to M1
It's a good camera but it is starting to get outclassed by a lot of new, similarly priced cameras. It's also falling behind in the video department. I've come from the a7iii and now I'm on the a7iv and I do not miss the a7iii in the slightest. I will say that for photography it is still a beast.
definitely! i still love it for photography, but it’s certainly starting to show its age. i’ll probably want to upgrade to the a7iv soon. the lumix s5ii seems like a beast of a camera, the only thing would be switching ecosystems which is annoying, but if you’re not invested in any system yet, i would probably go that route!
thanks for the effort and sharing. good info since i am a stills only photographer. i do like the 24mb sensor size. i also very much liked your posted stills. thumbs up
Another great video man, videos a bit older so I doubt I’ll get a response but do you recon it’d be worth upgrading from my a6400 or waiting for something like the a7siii to go down i price?
@@herokme The main things are the lack of in body stabilisation on my a6400 and I would like to move to full frame for low light situation and that amazing depth of field. I also much prefer the size/grip of Sonys full frame camera bodies. Ive been looking at the a7iv too for the reasons I just mentioned. I also love the bigger battery on the full frame cameras.
@JamesB754 if you’re doing like 75% video; i’d recommend the a7siii. that’s my main workhorse camera. a7iv is a great hybrid camera for a cheaper price, but does get hot pretty fast when recording
I'm split between the A7 III and A6600. I need a versatile camera for photography and videography for traveling. The A6600 seems to be more of a portable option, but the full frame of the A7 III would provide better prints and low light performance. Both are in the same price range when looking for used ones. There's actually an offer for the A7 III + Tamron 28-75 for 1500$ which seems like a pretty good deal. Are there some other alternatives in this price range?
i personally would take the a7iii. the a6600 is smaller, but it’s a little too small for my grip, and it’s missing a few key buttons and dials on the back and makes it feel incomplete to me. i much prefer the layout of the a7iii, as well as all the benefits from full frame. the 28-75 is a great lens as well, and seems pretty cheap if you’re getting both for $1500
@@herokme the only thing that bothers me, is the lack of 4k 60fps, but I guess there's no way I can get that in this price range, right? The A7 IV is significantly more expensive, way outside of my budget right now.
yeah it doesn’t have 4k60 unfortunately. although unless you’re cropping a lot, i’d say a lot of ppl won’t even notice if it’s 1080. especially if you’re doing a lot of social media with it
In almost 2024 what would you recommend me the a7iii or go for the canon r7? used they are both around 1200 but a7iii will be 6 years old soon and the r7 isnt even 2
@@herokme im a little concerned about the lens selection for canon R bodies tho, thats why i was also considering another brands. I can use old EF and sigma lenses with an adapter too right? seems like a good option
Hey, I know you probably haven't used the fujifilm xt4, but in case you have, how would you rate it compared to the A7iii? (Assuming I can get both at the same price)
i’m def not super familiar with fuji cameras, so i may be biased, but the fuji seems really awkward to be doing quick setting changes with the way the dials are set up. it is a newer camera though, so the specs are a bit better (especially for video). i would probably do this: a7iii if you’re doing professional photo shoots that need fast switching, xt4 if you’re doing shoots that don’t need as much speed for switching settings (ex. street photography), and then video id prob lean closer to fuji for the specs. however, sony is full frame, and has a greater lens selection. if you let me know what kind of shooting you mainly do, i can probably give you a better suggestion
i haven’t had that problem, and the ppl i know with a7iii don’t have that problem either. every camera will have some sort of issue, and there might be a bigger number of problems with the a7iii just because there are so many of them sold
honestly not sure. i wasn’t even aware of this “issue” until some ppl pointed it out in the comments, but i’ve never dealt with it personally, through myself or my friends
I just got a a7iii in 2023 and it was reasonable and also pocket friendly for a time and I hope to make a lot of content on my UA-cam from this camera
you're gonna have a blast with that camera!

great combo, you’ll have a lot of fun with it!
Just got the a7iii for $1,198 today brand new . Coming from a 6d mark ii, I'm excited for my first mirrorless camera
that’s a huge upgrade, you’re gonna love it! 🔥

it’s still a great camera! that 35-150 is a workhorse lens, you’re gonna love it 🔥
I recently switched to the Canon R5 from the A7Iv, miss it. So I ended buying a A7iii for $1000 to mount back my 70-200 GM ii :)
haha sweet deal!
i have it and I love, really guys buy this little monster, its fantastic!
hell yeah! such a good buy :)
Such a great video. I am getting an used a7iii for 1200. Would that be a good upgrade from my current a6400? My main focus is photography
it definitely will! you’ll have a ton of fun with that upgrade!
100% still worth it for someone who wants it for personal use. Got a used mint condition for $1100 for my friend. He loves it.
hell yeah, it’s still an awesome camera, especially if you can get it for a steal price!

SONY A73 OR FUJI XS 20 ? Now both are in same price tag . Which one would u recommend? Looking better photos and prints
i’m not familiar with the fuji xs 20 unfortunately. but i personally would try to stick to a system that i like the most (which for me is sony)

True. My a6400 is much faster in af department. Kinda frustrating 😂
What is starting to get old with a7iii?
slower response in general, video specs are lacking compared to other cameras now, autofocus is a little slower, body design, etc
Your photos are SUPERB! The Review is great but you could speak a wee bit slower. 9/10! 👍
i appreciate that! definitely gonna work in that haha 🙏🏻 thanks for your support!
Satisfying to watch

Sony a6400?? Or Sony a73 or nikon z6ii or any other better alternatives??

How much room do you have color grading 8-bit slog?
8 bit is still very useable. you just need to be careful about how much you push your images before you get artifacts in your colors
Can you suggest me a good camera under 1500 dollars??
I wonder what is the best "budget" Ultrawide lens for this camera?
the tamron 17-28 is a great budget option !
Sigma 14mm 1.4
