RAIL SEATING INSTALLS BEGIN AT EVERTON STADIUM!

- Rail seating handrails are now being installed in the south stand at Everton Stadium.
The Club’s new home will feature rail seating throughout the entire lower tier of the steeply-raked stand for home fans, and also in the lower section of the away end in the north east corner.
And as the seat installations continue, the first of the handrails are now in place.
The highly visual aspect of the barrel cladding is also progressing well, with work now underway on all four edges of the stadium roof.
In total, 872 individual panels polished aluminium panels - each one perforated to mitigate the effects of wind - will form the curved edges of the roof along the entire lengths of the east and west stands.
Meanwhile, work has begun on digging out the channel on the western wharf, which will eventually lead to the waterway being reinstalled.
Around 15,000 cubic metres of earthworks need to be excavated to create the new water channel that will connect neighbouring docks, provide a scenic overview from the Western Terrace and help provide a natural habitat for wildlife.

Even as an Arsenal fan i love these updates on this brilliant stadium , if i had a wish , i would love to be at EVERTON'S last game at Goodison's Stadium and their first game at this fantastic stadium
well if the last game of season is v arsenal and the 1st at new ground you may get your wish if you go to the away games
we have been in the top flight the longest. tho or could be villa as the oldest top flight game

The stadium is grand , but the only pity is that it can be bigger , 70-80k seats is more appropriate for such a big club like Everton

Why is there no "EFC" or "1878" in white lettering within the seat design?
Looks a bit naff these days. Spurs don’t have anything like that at their new stadium.

Safe standing
Rail seating is just a term for modern terracing. Each person gets a specific spot which means the chaos of the old school terracing won't be possible, but those fans will be standing and just able to rest against the "seat" . And because no-one is actually sitting down there's room for 3 rails seat where 2 normal seats would fit. Leg room not required
Have you not been to an ground with rail seating - its just a row of seats with a rail running along the back/front.
Like terracing but big brother style - unlike in free country

Where is the parking for the new ground??
Doesn’t need parking.
It’s a 20 min walk from the city centre or 5 mins from the train station. Plus you can watch from current car parks in 25 mins. So no need for one.

@@JayEFC1969 parking isn’t compulsory for any city centre use anymore really. Goodson didnt have parking and neither do any other new stadiums. Don’t see why it’s necessary at all.

Whilst I agree the stadium looks awesome. Surely it's a massive opportunity missed to not have made it have more increased capacity and to generate more income. Minimum should have been 75000.
It’s a unesco world heritage site, massively constrained and protected in terms of heritage and the scale and massing of the stadium would’ve been restricted. No chance they were getting a 75000 seater on there even if the funding was there for it
You understand that we cannot afford the cost of what's already being built, right? So in what world were we able to add even more costs?

@@ian9805 Yeah it has off the back of the new stadium, but at the time of the application I believe it was still a UNESCO site. It’s a load of bollocks anyway don’t see how anyone can prefer a derelict dockland/industrial wasteland to a state of the art world class stadium. Not like Everton were proposing to bulldoze the Great Wall of China
