I have the I-10-K Intercepter 5/8's wave antenna from Jay in the Mojave, looks just like this one and was the first made by Steve! I have had it up for 10 years now and it still has a flat match on it and it withstands the wind really great up here in the Mojave Desert, Frost is no problem either, the antenna still looks brand new & it really hears and talks great. I'm running a RCI 2995 DX CF radio and use the Ameritron AL 1200 Amp & the set up works great.
Hopefully you see this message. Let me ask you about the bandwidth. What kind of reasonable bandwidth should you expect above and below the center tuned frequency provided the antenna is in a decent location with little to no obstructions?
What are the measurements of the trombone tuning? How long are they and how wide are they apart? The video is sort of deceiving in the respect. I can't really tell if it's 3inches wide or 4 inches wide and looks to be about 4 feet long or so. Although there are 3 measurements in trombone length, top, middle and bottom. how broadbanded is it? Can it hold SWR through 11 and 10 meters? I'm looking at this to replace an Imax2000 on 135ft tower. Looks like a beast! How do you think it would measure up against the Imax at that height? Thank you for the videos.....Tim
it will tune go across regular 40 and a bit above and below. You would probably need to tune specifically for 10 meters or run a tuner. Performance wise the shockwave like most well made aluminum antennas will outperform an imax, which is basically a piece of wire coated in fiberglass
shouldn't he have measured/tuned from the feed point of the antenna?
WinZard a properly tuned antennas tune will not change from the feed point or from the end of the coax

What’s the measurement for top section. Tuning for ch 28 if it makes a difference.
