2 things: first off, i think one of the reasons that it was glitching out so much, was bc the dynamite was hitting the ground before being shot, secondly, to increase to distance, make the arm longer on the throwing side
And maybe shorter on the weight side, also to make it less glitchy he should have two "ropes" next to eachother to make it symmetrical and balanced weight wise as the weight of the dynamite isnt centered with 1 "rope" also the dynamite seems to go very high but not very far so releasing it a little bit later could give it more forward momentum
I also think the rope should be longer as well, as that's how trebuchets get their distance in real life, the object runs along a sort of track and gets "whipped" by the rope. idk if he can attach rope to rope within trailmakers though.
Put a steering hinge at the end for the couplers and put single blocks between each joint and the steering hinge. It should stabilize how much it glitches. Works the same as putting to many steering hinges or trailer hitches attached in a chain. Very glitchy without spaces. make a hydraulics latch holding the trebuchet in position without connecting to the actual pole. Put a tractor beam on the end of the couplers and make a conveyer belt or something with amo to pick up (another vehicle that delivers it). Use the rotating servos to reload it and lock back in place with the hydraulic lock.
You need to put a hinge where to power coupling attaches to the shaft. I would have also put a line of pistons on the bottom to attach to the payload with a detachable block. That way you could "wind" it up more like a real trebuchet does.
It seems like chained power couplings on low stiffness can get into some weird self-compounding behaviours that exert crazy forces on the creation they're a part of. Scrapman encountered similar issues in his own testing.
along with what others said, a thing you can't really do that would make a difference irl is the rope being under tension at the beginning. Basically, you have slack rope and the projectile moves slower because of that. In a real trebuchet, the rope whips the projectile
The weight doesn't have to be on a hinge. Put the weight above the arm with a little more distance away from the pivot hinge. Use the distance sensor to adjust the release point
This "rope" part is a lot buggy, it seems like when it bend just a little too much it gets in some evil loop. Scrapman made a good video that shows how it enters in that glitch mode.
No idea what you're talking about "glitching"... The trebuchet was working just about exactly like the one IRL. Destroying itself after almost every shot was normal.

Also timing the release to be slightly later so the release is less on the up swing will reduce the throw height, but should increase the distance!
You can use a piston to hole the arm in place and then contract it to let it go, it’s best use multiple for stability.
Here's a fun idea : you and Scrap man should make a game where you catch a ball using the power couplings
To make it launch further you could extend the arm of the trebouchet
yeah, i believe that is how it would be done
I also think the rope should be longer as well, as that's how trebuchets get their distance in real life, the object runs along a sort of track and gets "whipped" by the rope. idk if he can attach rope to rope within trailmakers though.
Never thought this was possible, i love your videos!
Challenge idea - Your Trebuchet vs Scrap's Ballista?
Scrapmans balista would win, because it can aim, BUUUUT I certainly think they should battle using physics powered projectile throwers/shooters.
Try rotating the power cuplings and the payload by 90 degrees

A strengthless hinge connecting the rope to the bar.

but be careful, bc it could break the arm if there is too much weight on a weak part...

Why didn’t he use anchor blocks to keep it to the ground

Good job making it work as well as it did! It could turn into a challenge with scrapman, physics powered launching stuff far contest!

Challenge Idea: Tank that fires physical dynamite shells and can reload with more stored inside
Lets goo another fabulous yzuei Video❤❤
This "rope" part is a lot buggy, it seems like when it bend just a little too much it gets in some evil loop.
Scrapman made a good video that shows how it enters in that glitch mode.
or bc the dynamite was hitting the ground, it could have caused some of the glitching
Grapple gun :like batman Yzeui
Great idea! I'm literally building one right now😅 I'll finish it before I continue watching the video 🙈
5:00 power couplings???
Yeah, exists since the space update. The name is a bit space-like, but they are basically rope-like objects.
See when I made the comment but thank you
could you try to make a working winch with power couplings?
only the connections have hitboxes so you will need to make the winch barrel quite large
i think scrapman tried, but as you said, it didn't work bc it a too small barrel
you should make a worm
Lol Scrapman did a trebuchet in trailmakers about 4 years ago (but he didn't have power couplings)
don't give up mr yzuei 😂 *just kidding lol
instead of the distance sensor to release the projectile i would of used and angle sensor set at 45 so it gets as much distance as possible
Adding some wheels to the bottom of the frame will make the tnt go farther
and the entire thing go haywire
Pretty interesting challenge, love your vid (fav youtuber)😁
You should make a plane for high seas that runs on the wind
Finally a vid from yzuei😅
best channel on yt❤🎉
How do you have that aiming i hav e dots how do i change it?pls somebdy tell me
When are you going to play flyout again?
Can I Build A WORKING Nuke? In Trailmakers
Awesome vid🎉
He always makes awesome videos
You could have used pistons to pull the rope up to the arm, and someone obviously doesn't watch his friends channel
probably wanted to experience it all himself, and watched Scrapmans video after, so as to not ruin his messing around
I think you should go see scrapman, he experimented a lot on it and found the reason it glitched-out like that.
like the new music yzuei more fitting
You could use a piston and retract it to launch
or just se more power couplings and a detachable block to release the load
No idea what you're talking about "glitching"...
The trebuchet was working just about exactly like the one IRL.
Destroying itself after almost every shot was normal.
why did you not use the anchor block?
Petition for yzuei to play warthunder

ooo, that would be interesting, altho he is more of a building guy...
When will ot be out
What if you try to make aircraft carrier cords to catch jets?
Make a helicopter but the blades are connected by the ropes
that already sounds like a glitch bomb 😂
Can u Please Build a F15 i Like The Jet Just How i Like u❤
When will the update be on console
I think this is just early access
MAYBE IF YOU PUT SOME GYRO TURN IN IT MAYBE IT WOUD NOT GLITCH EVERY TIME
WHY ARE WE YELLING?? ALSO HE WANTED TO BE PHYSICS BASED!!
