A foreigner cannot own it. There are strategies like forming a company to own the house, but unless it is a proper real estate company which owns the house for a valid business purpose, it is risky. You can also have Thai wife own it. That might be even more risky. Lol! If you want to own something, look to a condo in a building majority owned by Thais. You can own that.
