  • Diffuse nodulation of liver due to fibrous bands subdividing liver into regenerative nodules.
1.Bridging fibrous septa in the form of delicate bands or broad scars linking portal tracts with one another and portal tracts with terminal hepatic veins.
    2. Parenchymal nodules containing hepatocytes encircled by fibrosis. Nodularity results from cycles of hepatocyte regeneration and scarring
3.Disruption of the architecture of the entire liver. The parenchymal injury and consequent fibrosis are diffuse, extending throughout the liver. Focal injury with scarring does not constitute cirrhosis, nor does diffuse nodular transformation without fibrosis.
