I don't think you understand the Mini Cooper owner at all. The car is about aesthetics and performance. If you love a vintage Euro car look, there's nothing else like it on the market. As for performance? It's hella fun to drive. Oh, and the customizable nature makes it feel uniquely yours. But it's not about, "Oh, I don't want to pay for a BMW." Mini owners LOVE their Minis. There are very few (contemporary) cars I would drive instead. (Now, if they could make an old Volvo coupe or BMW 2002 that has modern safety/performance features, I might change my mind.)
After owning a mini Countryman myself, I can see where he comes from, with his point of view. However, so many drawbacks to owning a MINI; it’s not a matter of if your vehicle will have an issue, it’s a matter of when. I owned my 2016 for 4 years, excellent highway cruiser averaged 42 mpg. But when the odometer hit 106,000 km, the turbo started lurching and timing belt felt as if it would blow off going up hills. I maintained the crap out of that car, proper oil changes and even transmission fluid change around 91,000 km. The car still attempted to break, they’re just poor build quality, it’s sad reality. They will make you bankrupt after 100,000 km
I just got a 2023 2 door S in the new Nanuq White with black top and mirrors. I have driven 2 door S with with the 6 speed shifter. I now have an automatic and I swear I get better gas mileage. I think it’s because if you aren’t really good at changing gears you use more fuel. Just my opinion,
The SE has an electronic parking brake, which I prefer. This hand brake is absurd but I end up putting the arm rest up and down all the time anyway. The DCT is definitely the way to option these if you’re over manuals like I am.
The mini with the supercharger were the least reliable mini ever made. And the old minis also use the rattle himself apparently be falling apart in like five years

It looks cool. It's a buy based on emotions.
My biggest complaint with Mini is that the tires are often rubber bands, harsh ride, and options can price them into the stratosphere.
I love the top!
Very good review!
Maybe market dependent, but you can often spec the S variant with stiffer sport suspension.

If you could get your hands on the b&o system in the audi a3/s3/rs3 8Y, that'd be great! There aren't any serious reviews for it on YT yet.
The run flat tyres and the handbrake armrest arrangements are my complaints
No harman lardon system in the S Models as well 😢
I am wondering if the muffler is still popping
gotta have an iPhone mini to have a mini :)
That colour combo is absurd.

Technically German when its built in the uk 🇬🇧 🤣🤦♂️👎
It's funny that on the chassis of my brand new F56 Mini JCW it even says "Made by BMW" on it.
