thanks for sharing some of your story. i've been watching some of your shorts... they're great! i often fantasize about leaving my 9-5 and "dedicating my life" to small-scale regernative farming. i live in western NC and we have about .50 acre to grow in. i started two years ago by planting many fruit trees. i feel like i need the income from my main job in order to support my loved ones -- and my wife and i are hoping to have a child soon, so that makes it even more scarier (financially speaking). i find so much joy and purpose when im in the yard with the plants and trees. i also make videos on my youtube channel and i want to use this platform to empower more people to grow their own food... just like you are doing! keep it up, man. I'll be watching!

You have given me a lot of ideas for my 6 1/2 acres. I was thinking in terms of fencing and water supply that I didn't before. Thank you so much, Tanner!
Not too far either here in Texarkana ❤

I enjoy your videos so much I started a small garden just to grow plants but this summer heat and not enough rain and the lack of getting motivated to get out everyday and work in it plus this so called dirt here in Alabama is crappy its not like the soil back home In Florida.

There's a reason that the Bible is littered with gardening and farming allegory; we were meant to be close to the earth, and tend to it. I'm setting up my first autumn market garden in my front yard, and nowadays, perfect strangers just show up and ask what's going on, asking me when I'll have food to sell. People want what you're growing, so keep it up. Maybe consider a fruit orchard on that land of yours, that'd be sweet.

Agreed 100%! We are actually installing some linear food forest swales this fall/spring on our property which I’m stoked about. Been planning out the design with Midwest Permaculture

It’s sad and shocking to see the reactions of some people towards other people who, even after diligence and patience and careful daily planning and care for years, eventually realize and decide that it’s time move on from farming and leaving the countryside to a different state or country, some even do go back to the city and are happier there. Factually, there is no shame for doing so, and there shouldn’t be! I’m so sick of these false Christian, religious, and atheist rural hypocrites who look for any excuse as to why someone simply decides farming doesn’t work for them. That’s okay if it doesn’t work for you! I personally hate anything rural and to do with farming or gardening, animal husbandry, etc. They don’t make me a better person and God doesn’t say I have to do them to lead a Godly life and help others. It all boils down to - your family do what ethically works best for your family. We don’t all like the same things or live in the same places, etc. A country person and a city person who are Godly, ethical, civil, courteous, even if they are both self sufficient and hard working, who try to live in peace with those around them are always welcome at my table, as they say. If people want to demean and falsely accuse or censor city or country people, we’ll that speaks volumes of how wrong that person is and they have serious problems that they need to work out with God. Bottom line - if you decide farming or gardening doesn’t work for you, then I say to those people that’s great and I still support those people!
