Time 3/20/21, ordered winch. E.S.A.P. Aug. Reason lack of "chips". Common for today, for all chips from China?! Not 2 blame Warn. Warn is the best choice, do not settle for less.
Unfortunately the remote control is poorly designed and will drain it's battery in about a week. It does not shut off completely and continues a parasitic drain. Unless it is left plugged into a charger it will be dead when you want to use it. Alternatively some owners have hacked a switch into the unit. It is also far from water resistant. What really sucks is this winch is completely dependant on this remote.
It sucks. I got sick and tired of the remote dying in the console. My 16 years electronics nerd installed a magnetic external switch. Kind of embarrassing Warn that a Junior in High School fixed your remote. Now it stores without any drain.
@@Spunky-iq8jm kinda hard to do when out in the woods on a tractor. Say its been two weeks and you wanna go wheeling.dead remote. Run over or lose remote in the woods? No winch. If you let winch cool ya gotta pair it up AGAIN! Every time you use it. Just would be nice to be able to use the phone.
Dear Sirs, My name is mohsin from saudi arabia i have notes that there’s water leaking in the motor side because of the heat which has affected the o ring (heat can be from motor or direct sun to the black motor cover) i have HD silicone gasket it’s worked better
i have a early 1990's Warn Mega Winch (model: mw 12000) that i aquired with a vehicle purchase. where can i find a operator manual for this? thanks.

You can plug the remote into a USB connection inside the Jeep to charge and/or use it.

Easy to pair.hard to keep it paired! Remote doesn't hold a charge for very long. Think I will have to go back to corded.
@@mikeadams2339 the remote can be charged and/or used by plugging it into the vehicle USB port.

@@mikeadams2339 If you prefer wired, Warn has other models. I just picked up my winch. I will see how it goes.
