- Uttarakhand Glacier Disaster: Siddhant Mohan and Mannu Baghel from The Lallantop went to cover the Chamoli disaster. As the team entered Raini village and interviewed several participants of the historic Chipko movement, new revelations unfolded about the recent incident. The flash floods that hit parts of Uttarakhand's Chamoli district two days ago was due to the collapse of a hanging glacier, the scientists at the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology suggested in their initial observations. Efforts are underway to rescue workers trapped inside a tunnel in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, two days after flash floods in the region swept away almost everything along with the Alaknanda river system.

जैसे किसानी के बारे मे किसान जानता है वैसे ही देवभूमि के बारे मे देवभूमि मे जन्मा इंसान जानता है, जो प्रॉपर उत्तराखंड से है वे कभी नहीं चाहेंगे की विकास के नाम पर ऐसी चीज़ें हो जो पर्यावरण को नुक्सान दे, यहाँ तक की कभी किसी जगह नई रोड बनती है तो वहा के लोग ये सोचते है आपने घर से थोड़ी दूरी पर हो, ये जो सरकार 2/4 लेन रोड बनाने की सोच रही है उससे भी काफ़ी पेड़ो को नुक्सान हो रहा है, उत्तराखंड वासियो को सिर्फ इतनी चौड़ी रोड चाहिए जितने मे 2 Roadways की बस अगल-बगल से निकल जाए... Tanakpur से Pihoragarh Road ही देख लो कैसी रोड बनाई है इतने तीखे मोड़ बनाए है पहले के मुकाबले ज्यादा एक्सीडेंट होने का खतरा बड़ा है

Sidhant, your life is made pal having reached that last village of Dhauli Ganga valley. Chipako started and thrived in the lower region as there is hardly any vegetation around Raini village except for a few walnut trees you see around. Just see the steep descent of the rivulet. There are many Andolanjivi around. Enjoy their company in the village where footpaths are now cemented on which you were sitting (Modi Magic) . Houses are cemented preserving nature. What a travesty of Andolanjivis. See the progress at the border village. Have some Banaspa tea there.

माता जी की बात शत प्रतिशत सही है देवी भूमि मे कोई भी प्रोजेक्ट शुरू करने से पहले सरकार तथा वाह के स्थाई लोगों को भी विचार विमर्श करने चाहिए, लेकिन वास्तविकता यह है कि जब कोई प्रोजेक्ट आता हें तो वहां के कुछ लोगो का ध्यान तो वहां मिलने वाले रोजगार की तरफ जाता है तो कुछ वह भी होते हैं कि जिनकी प्रोजेक्ट के लिए जमीन जाती है उनको ढेर सारा पेसा मिलता है,
