What I really like about this clip is how properly everyone acts. Sarah doesn't lie about what's wrong--she admits she's miscarrying. Nikki doesn't judge or lecture her, just immediately steps in to comfort her. Nikki doesn't let her keep it quiet, but gently and firmly pushes her to tell her parents, knowing that they need to know. And Barb and Bill don't judge or lecture her either, knowing that it's not the time, that instead she needs to be comforted.
The miscarriage was consequence enough. There is nothing anyone could say or do to Sarah, that could equal losing a child she wanted. That is why no one lost it....they loved her too much to add insult to injury.

People don't fully understand what it is like to come from any religious family and the turmoil you carry about what will happen when you have to tell your family the truth. I was glad to see they were kind during such a difficult period. In my situation, I told no one, miscarried in private and decided to leave the father, kind of like she did. When I told my family later on, they were supportive.
