Girl was so mannered and respcetful. Took everything in stride and was actually considering using the gift. Also helped him in the kitchen and tried the food. She really was great. And he was pretty nice too, for a cheapskate. Did his best considering the way he wants to live his life. Cooked them dinner that wasnt dumpster dive or road kill, made the kids gifts, thats pretty considerate. And he seems to be very cheerful, happy and self aware. I actually like him

He didn't go out of the way to make them a nice meal. He spent 3 lousy bucks on fish heads and they supplied the rest of the ingredients. I'd be grossed out too. I don't want to eat something with eyeballs, and the rest is a skeleton. There's no meat. How do you expect to eat it? And I think when Jeff pops an eyeball in his mouth going, "Whats a matter Isaac" He's kindof being a dick.

@@noorrougelewis6704 actually, I have before! And the bones you can cook them in the oven till they are super brittle and easy to chew. Of course you want to put the bones in oil and then put some spices on them and then put them in the oven, they taste great.

To some people, "fish heads" are really delicious when you cook them correctly. Otherwise, this guy is the most energetic person I've ever seen - he would honestly be those stereotyped caring dads you would see in movies.

Yes, you are right. Many people just don't know fish head is edible and totally delicious. If we know how to cook the fish head probably, it will become a delicacy. The meat in the fish cheek is tender, the fish eyes and brain are fatty and the cartilage of the head is crunchy. In some countries in Asia, these two fresh fish heads would turn into a large, scrumptious fish head hot pot enough to thoroughly serve 4 people. Or you can make grilled fish heads with salt. I feel sorry for the fish heads because they're treated as if they were junk and inedible while they're actually very good ingredients.
Even the salmon carcass is edible. There's still a lot of meat in it so you can extract them to make fish floss, and the remaining bone can be used to cook fish broth. Or you can deep-fry the whole carcass until it's crispy and tasty. It's a common practice in some Asian countries. I think we should make use of the fish as much as we can, because it's a way to reduce waste and show our gratitude to nature.

I don’t like fish or chowder, but he is a good friend. A restaurant would do the same with leftover meat, it was fresh. With world hunger being such a problem it seems pretty smart to use leftovers for a meal. If Isaac was living in poverty he wouldn’t have left the table.

My kids would not have been like that. It was kind of rude. And melodramatic. It was fresh fish. He made a nice chowder from it which is what a restaurant would have done with the left over fish. If you cook a fish head the right way, it’d actually taste amazing because those muscles are used a lot so the texture is quite unique in a good way. In my family we usually use a lot of pepper and garlic drive the fishiness away, strong alcohol helps too but make sure to add that early on, then salt and soy sauce to taste, a dash of vinegar and a pinch of sugar before serving it, and voila, tasty fish heads.

Salmon head is delicious, the cheek of the salmon is the best part of the whole fish. Bones in restaurant would be used in soups and stocks. The meat on carcass can be scraped off and made into fishballs or fishcakes. The way butchers clean the head, there's always meat left under the body cut. Stop being spoiled and teach children to respect the animal and parts. Or just go vegan if you're scared of what actual meat look like before butchers package then nice and neat for you in the supermarket.

So they would eat the filets, but not the rest of the fish? That makes no sense to me. You know the filets CAME FROM THAT FISH?? I guess some people are just incredibly far removed from where their food comes from. I mean I understand not wanting to eat the unedible parts, but its the literal same meat as the filets.
You can make some great dishes from bones and such and there is quite a bit of meat left on the head but it's more is it something you grew-up with or are willing to try. Also maybe trying to make it a little more appetizing looking this may just be me since my family is asian but some spices on top or fried up then peel the meat to mix with rice and such sounds much better; personally at least. That and i'm not a huge fan of stews and soups and that chowder was way to watery for me.
Also after you get all the meat off reboil and make soup stock for something else.

I don't mind this guy, he's not picking up expired food strange places he did buy some fresh food from a market. It's not what you see at the store, but it looks good and fresh. Plus he's not forcing his cheap ideas onto them, he's giving suggestions for them to try but not forcing them. Heck I would have tried the chowder, could've been actually tasty.

People are so precious...we are so disconnected from our food sources and wasteful. If you're going to take a life to sustain yours at least put all of it to use. Dang, growing up in the Philippines poor. Honestly salmon heads are so good. My mom makes soup out of salmon scraps and the salmon is actually really good with rice. He actually got a really good deal on that fish.
His heart was at the right place though ,but the people he was spending a night at was not his type he chose them with his heart not mind.It helps to know your kind you saved yourself some embarrassing moments.
Personally he's my favorite person on this show. Reason is he doesn't force anyone into his lifestyle. No family, gf, etc have to live like him, and if you watch the other version, a lot of what he makes are life hacks.
