Got it from Amazon. If you enjoyed her first two albums at all this is a must have.
So relevant a song globally, especially now in this crazy world... Be groovy everyone, and be safe in 2024... Big loves from Scotland...🏴👍🤗
Some modern day singers who think it's cool to mumble through a song should listen to Tasmin. Her diction is always clear and precise.
I posted a question on Tasmin's website forum a few years ago about this song. I asked if this song is a statement about the abuse of power by religious officials. She said it is a statement about all authorities, religious and political. Great woman and brilliant singer.
Dude(Ette) Yasmin is an anarchist!
@@christianrossa5032 Dude(Ette)?
Probably about satanism
Greetings: She and her band is, indeed, yes talented. Might I add very pretty and a beautiful person. Lucky guy John. I would like 2 meet her someday.
Couldn't be more apt now, with everything going on in the world right now
I bought her first CD. Not just a great artist....songwriter, singer. Don't mean to offend anyone's sensibilities etc. but her voice was just so damn sexy. I listened to that album beginning to end MANY times. Apparently she's retired now. I hope she knows how many of us she inspired.
Used to listen to this on cassette when I was younger. Never knew who sung it or what it was called but I loved it. 25 years later I've found it!
even "Sleeping Satellite" ?
I started listening to her 5 years ago and I absolutely love her. Why didn't she have a bigger career in the USA. Some artists get overlooked for no reason. I don't get it. With a voice like this it's hard not to notice her.
I bought her first album/CD (1993) which was excellent from beginning to end. Here in LA the only radio station that played her music was KROQ FM. That album was apparently HUGE in the UK and Europe, yet she quickly faded after that. WTF knows why. But I was and still am a FAN of this girl. IMO the sweetest and strongest voice out there at the time.
I've read online recently that she is now basically retired. At least we still have her music.
@@boblozaintherealworld3577 "Secret Satellite" is one of my favorite songs. It was a #1 song in England, I heard it on occasion in the US but it was definitely far under the radar. I read where she worked at a recording studio and after hours began developing her music in that studio. Unfortunately she didn't fit within any of the 90s commercial genres in the US.
@@glennhavinoviski8128 Aha! Another Tasmin fan. I have to say I first heard her on the "alternative" rock station in LA ('kroq.fm') and then got her CD. Whatever her career decisions were after that, she was not interested in performing for or posturing for the "commercial" media. NOT that it would have been wrong to do that; she just didn't want to. Maybe an artistic comparison would be Tori Amos. Except that Tori really loved the performance aspect. Just saying.
🇲🇽🥰🎶🎼 ESTUBO MUY ADELANTADA A SU ÉPOCA 🤔 🕗🤔❤🥰❤❤🥰👍😎😁
That voice is God given. Inspiring, beautiful, feels like a warm sunshine hug. Also alternative music was my fave growing up ❤
Some great music came out of the 90s, this is just brilliant...
Just love her music! I still listen to her album.
Me too! 💖
Just come across this artist. Fabulous is an apt word to describe her. Her voice soars and rips your heart.
The first love of my life got me this album in 92'
Great expectations.
We're not a couple, but amazing friends....We both loved this album x
🇲🇽🥰 I LOVE HER ❤😍 AND THE SONG TOO ! 🌹🤞☘️☺️🇲🇽🥰😍 I'M FROM MÉXICO CITY Y ELLA ME ENCANTA Y SU MÚSICA 🎼🎹🎸🎶🎵🎧 🥰🥰🥰🥰👍🏼😎
One of my most favorite singers.
It's been a long time we've heard of her!
She's amazing as a singer! :)
Wonderful song... wonderful. So deep, so eerie... the auditory equivalent of a Twin Peaks episode.
I still love this song and Tasmin to this day in 2024 A great northern lass true and honest. This in my belleif is equality multicultural even though back then she was just AMAZEING her colour didnt matter 👍❤❤
Bring back so many memories
Ms Archer, you should have been a mega star with your beautiful voice,Crystal clear is an understatement.

0:40 my favorite part of this song. Wonderful lyrics and delivery.
2:54 is my second fav. Love the way she extends “pray”.
I use to love this album❤️💕💖🇬🇧🇵🇰🇺🇸❤️💕💖
an amazing song from an amazing artist
Great song...also the best I've seen her look!
a gospel at the crossroad of faith
The most beautiful voice in rock & Roll history
Great song. Brilliant album. Every song a gem. Know every word of every song. Thanks.
Theres so little of her in person on YOU TUBE. I can't find one concert. What a shame. Artists can get another 'go around' if they are 're-discovered'
The Higher You Climb extended mix is a really good song also...Love me some Tasmin Archer!
"It's me trying to be 'sexy'...", when asked why her shoulder was on show in this clip.
I liked this.
Genius of a song really gets the adrenaline pumping makes you feel alive again when the chorus kicks in.nice one tamsin and she's from my neck of the woods Bradford.
number #26 only!
I'm hooked on this song. It's brilliant!
Lyrics speak the truth today more than ever!
Apt song for today's times. I remember this one out in the charts and was flicking through the CD the other day. They don't make really good songs both musically and lyrically these days.
Brilliant track
Tasmin has a UA-cam channel and a Twitter account @tasminarcher. Great Expectations was a one-of-a-kind album to be sure.
I remember this coming out and loving it then. Beautiful song
Awesome! Thanks for the post.
An under rated singer by far. Should re-release the album.
Tasmin's first two albums are being remastered and re-issued on 18 September 2020 as part of a 3-CD set with B-sides, radio edits, live tracks and extended versions through Cherry Red Records, here - www.cherryred.co.uk/product/tasmin-archer-sweet-little-truths/
wonderfull example of pop-rock!
I'll never understand why this didn't go to number 1!?
You're not by yourself.
@@catharbin6259 You’re a Tasmin fan? You have great taste in music. Lol
Because it wasn't 'Sleeping Satellite'. That song was both a gift and curse for her career as she's known as that "Sleeping Satellite lady"
Maravilha! Que legal encontrar clips de Tasmin Archer! Thanks!
Her 'Sleeping Satellite' was released in the UK just before i deployed to Bosnia in 1992, ironic....awesome diction and profound lyrics....which is even more astounding as she's from Bradford!! :)))
I appre ciate your beautiful song so much (❁´ω`❁)Thank you!
I haven't listen to this song in years. She is extremely talented. Awesome voice. Has she done anything recently? Thanks for posting.
Lords of the New Church - I wish I would have known this was her filming this in LVNV then. I was living there. I damn sure would have went down 2 meet and watch. I was OTR and out of touch with much in music then... Regrets. "Time of Ur Life"
I ike her words
@OhNoItIsNathan3 They feast and they fly while we pay the real price
But what price do we place on life?
We pray to the east, we pray to the west
And we see the gods of the new church
As they undertake their vow, tell me who can save us now?
Save us from the lords of the new church
And I hope and I pray...
Omg I bought here cd 10 yrs ago
Моя любимая песня ..
goodmusic😭💖
I love
@ekamau20 Here's a man whose voice speaks for everyone
And his actions touch the lives of us all
He rose with energy and style, touch my hand, kiss my child
Sway us all with your smile, he readily accepts acclaim
But soon forgets that he came from the back streets like them
We pray to the east, we pray to the west
And we see the gods of the new church
As they undertake their vow, tell me who can save us now?
Save us from the lords of the new church, don't say no
This might actually be better than Sleeping Satellite. Both are highly excellent tracks.
Она крута!
krásný hlas
What did she mean by that ?
I guess save us from the new messiahs; the leaders (political, religious, corporate, etc.) who somehow manage to rally support from those they screw over.
@OhNoItIsNathan3 Here's a man some believe is a visionary
Here's a man who is driven by greed
He made a fortune overnight in a deal that he knew
Was too good to be true, now as he bends the rules of play
Becomes obsessed with the game, has to go all the way
We pray to the east, we pray to the west
And we see the gods of the new church
As they undertake their vow, tell me who can save us now?
Save us from the lords of the new church, don't say no, don't say no
She was the first. Not Beyoncé.
She made a way too big break between first and second album. 1996 she was a bit forgotten already because she could not manage keep her inside the media attention. You can do pauses but you have to keep yourself in the limelight.
Her second album was released in 1994. Her 3rd was released in 1996
Should have been an Obama campaign song.
Brilliant!
