My wife have Kymco agility where fan broke off and i decided to fix that myself..never done that before, watched your video and decided to try. i switched fan ,rollers and belt..took a while but finally got it done. Thanks for advices.
Super helpful video on replacing the drive belt! Would you happen to have the dimensions for the original belt? I think they are marked on the side somewhere
The original belt is labeled Kymco 23100-KEB7-9000. That is the only thing on the belt itself. The new belt I put on it is a Gates PL30504 Premium PowerLink. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching!
watched your video on the coleman and it was entertaining you got a little channel keep making videos only thing i suggest was a little run on the bike but your a really good content creator keep up the work have a good day man
One issue I am having, and I thought by replacing the belt will go away is a noise when I am giving it. No when I Lego the throttle or even given throttle, I hear a noise in the compartment where the belt lives. I’m not too sure what that is, it’s been making that noise even with the old belt and out with a current belt still but I did notice a big difference with a newer belt 1 hp
I did all that. I haven't noticed any mice yet. I only had the scooter for a couple weeks when I found the nest in the case. It sat for a year at the dealer.
i have a kymco like 50 i cant even go up to 30 miles and i feel like the drive belt is slipping. well i took off the cover to see and i saw a lot of drive blet black dust. even if the blet looks ok i thing its slipping wore out. i will look online for a blet like yours. miles on my scooter are 300
I’ve got the same scooter as yours I’ve got 1100 miles on mine and I was noticing that when I take off on mine and I can feel it slip so it’s time to change mine also
Sometimes, if you don't squeeze the belt to make some play, when you put it back on, it can get bound up. I haven't had it happen yet, but I haven't worked on scooters a whole lot. I do it just to make sure it doesn't happen.
It did help. The old belt only had a few hundred miles on it but I opened the case and found a mouse nest in it and it cause the belt to get a few small chunks taken out of it. That might have caused it to lose structural integrity. The new one does seem to grab better and I could swear there is a slight top end increase. Only by a mile per hour but I'll take it.
@@Grey_Beard72 thanks for the info mine has the factory belt still on it and it looks just like yours I guess the Kymco belts are made of poor quality material but I’m like you i travel in hilly areas also and premature wear on a stock style belt might be just a normal issue around every 1000 miles ,I’m gonna get the same belt cause we have identical engines and see what happens , I thank you for the reply back ride safe and have a great weekend
I'm not even sure what size it is. It has the factory carb on now. The carb I got to put on it is supposed to be jetted up a little. But I'm not sure about the size. I will do a little research, and if I figure out the size, I will let you know.
@@Grey_Beard72 thank you sir. From what I read they are delivered here in the Netherlands with an 80 size (over here 50 cc are legally not allowed to drive faster than 45 kmh). From what I read an 82 size jet will make it run smoother. I have a Kymco People S 4T 50 cc. Probably with the same engine as yours.
@@frednetherlands887 Mine was restricted to 28mph, which is 45kmh. I believe they send all of them out like that. At least Kymco. Here you can go 35mph, which is 56kmh. When I swapped out the roller boss, it got me to 37mph/59.5kmh. I later changed the cdi and if I wasn't 225 pounds, It could potentially go up to 43-44mph. It will do it down hill with me on it. The hill I am talking about isn't real steep. When I can get to it, I will swap the carb and slap on a free flowing exhaust. I'm hoping that will open it up some more.
Thank you. Indeed the same Kymco setup here as I understand. I have the same weight. I will check the variator ring and will experiment with the carb jet size. Changing the CDI is illegal here. Police will either measure ones driving speed and even have mobile roller benches to test for output of power and speed of scooters. Just a little more power within the legal limits would be nice.
question after installing new blet took it out for a ride might sound crazy question but will the cover to blet feel hot .... mine is hot if i place my hand on it..
I went back to check the belt now the sprocket is stuck. I took the nut off in the washer, but still would not come off. Not sure why it stuck now I was going to check the belt, taking off the sprocket.
Did you figure out the problem? I thought maybe a weight got sideways and jammed. One did that to me when I was putting it back together but I caught it.
@@Grey_Beard72 no after removing the nut in the washer I pulled on the sprocket which I shouldn’t have to but it’s stuck on the crankshaft. It won’t slide out and I’m sure it’s not the rollers. It’s the sprocket is stuck on the crankshaft I’m thinking because I use the impact that’s all I can think of so now I have to find a pulley for something to pull it back. I did spray a little bit of WD-40 in the center trying to work it back and try to pry it back a little bit but it wouldn’t. It moves a little bit but still won’t come out. I went ahead and just put it back together and try to scooter out again of course it rides much better now with a new belt. Also, the other reason I was going to take it off because I seen other videos that has a washer on the back of that sprocket but I don’t remember seeing one so I know I took it off in order. Also, I ordered some new rollers from the scooter place so eventually I’m going to have to take that sprocket off somehow I’m going to see if I can find on UA-cam anyone who might have had this problem the sprocket being stuck to the crankshaft and how they took it off.
@@Grey_Beard72 well, I got it off what happened is when I installed it. The star in the middle was on top of the teeth of the crankshaft teeth, so they were on top of each other not on the grooves where the teeth should slide on. You got the star and then you also had a middle nut that has a star as well, so you have to be careful installing the main sprocket with a star and a little sprocket nut that they slide on the grooves not on top of each other hope you understand what I’m trying to say
Watching videos like this does help a lot to get the knowledge and confidence to get out and do it yourself.
I have a 2013 Kmyco that had the belt break on me at the stop light! Thank you so much for all the information!
Glad to be of some help.
My belt broke today and I feel doomed .
thanks, did mine while watching, new roller bearings, new belt, derestricted boss. really thanks.
Glad it helped

How many miles on that belt? Measure it and the new one on the bench. Mice in the garage?

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean tools?

It can. That is why it has an air intake and exit designed in the cover. For cooling it the drive system. They will still get hot though.
