    Despite Johnson's big ideas and rhetoric, it is abundantly clear that the UK is struggling. Big words on China but emphasises trade. In other words, we'll politely make appropriate noises but don't expect us to jeopardise trade with them as we are dependent on China. Pathetic.

    • @EvenWaysMusic
      @EvenWaysMusic 3 роки тому +3

      It isn’t pathetic. It’s sensible. What do you expect us to do to China? If you and other were so concerned about China, then you should push for big countries who can actually take them on to step up. The USA can’t and won’t because it has an incredibly weak leader and the EU hasn’t got balls. You and everyone else probably said the same during Brexit: “the EU is too big for the UK! Omg!”. Ideally it would great in a world where all valid complaints result in punishment and all invalid ones get thrown out, but in reality the women who are subject to such experiences usually are economically, professionally or socially not as powerful as the men who perpetrate it and so the law needs to level this imbalance or it's always going to be the case that women don't feel comfortable pursuing justice or have their case thrown out. They are many orders of magnitude more legitimate cases of harassment that go unreported or unpunished than false accusations that result in the 'tarnished' reputation of good men. We would of course prefer to avoid the latter but not at ANY cost.

    Expat here, Britain an outdated class ridden society with a thin veneer of democracy, struggling to stay internationally relevant in a world that dispises colonialism and resents hereditary privilege. Unless your descended from a medieval warlord good luck trying to get a fair go in britain nepotism is rife. It's sad as there are good Brits who are trying to make a change but it's difficult to make change in such an archaic system and sadly the odds are stacked against them.
    It could be so different if Britain became a democratic republic with compulsory voting and did away with titles and the privilege that conveys then it could be a great place to live but sadly that's a fantasy I don't expect to see in my lifetime.

When were nationalists concerned with anyone but themselves? They might try another genocide after Armenians and Kurds (draining swamp policy), to expect more than that at the moment is at least uninformed and at most willfully ignorant.

    There is more nuance to listing the PKK as a terrorist organisation than is shown.
    While the PKK is overwhelmingly listed as such by national governments (especially those allied with Turkey),
    the PKK has also won a number of court battles showing it is not. Despite this, the EU has always found a way to weasel its way out of removing it from the listing.
    Such as when it won a 2018 case, the EU claimed that the case only dealt with 2014-2017, so it would not be removing it from the listing.
    Moreover, I also may point out, the PKK also made significant gains against ISIS about 2014-2015.

    Opposition is saying that these charges are clearly trumped up.
    The government directly said those politicians are being held on _alleged_ association with a terrorist group and the resolution is therefore to end the association, which has not actually been established to exist. The rest of it could be translated as "and we are giving lip service to how bad it is every time Erdoğan screws up the optics of the situation".

    As much as I love this show, the frequency of mistakes in reports is worrying. It seems like every video has at least one mistake. If you asked me, you should spend less on animations and more on delivering accurate reporting, although I can see how this could be fiscally the wrong move, as animations are better for garnering a wider audience. Regardless, one has to balance between running a successful channel and broadcasting accurate, reliable reporting, especially in this age of 'alternative facts'.
