I'd say for a $50 mic it sounds fucking fantastic. You get a bit of the voice's low end and also the signature condenser crisp in the voice. It captures what it needs and not much of external sounds from the side goes into it. Maybe could even record songs using this. That's amazing.
Thanks for an actual good review man! As you said not really many people had done a lot of testing but I can say that you honestly sold the mic to me! Thank you so much :)
Great review and confirmed my suspicions that the mic tests around arent even using it properly, your audio is much closer to how mine sounds. Good work!
That's a very clear & smart review you're doing there. I love the fact that the mike need not be placed on the same level as your head. And it sounds sexier too, haha..
nice review man :) i have been using my Samson Go Mic for a year now and i gotta say its really awesome if you know how to configure it in the right way. Both sounds really good for the price :) and mine was already set to 48000 Hz (DVD Quality) by default :)
My packaging was way different ordered from Amazon December 2018. Manual booklet opens from the left edge(like a normal booklet), didnt include a drivers disk, and the mic wasnt nestled in "display" packaging to greet you when you open the box. Paid $55 for the black version.
Heya, very nice video - useful! Question tho - towards the end there r very noticeable changes in the sound - is it you in post production switching between mics or is it from the change in direction u speak to - camera vs directly into the mic? Thnx a ton!
I assume it'd be like other mics, simply just select it in your screen recording program as the primary mic, but with other things just make sure it's your default recording device.
your mic test was more of a d330 test. literally even the keyboard part was on ur cam. we came here to hear how the Samson meteor mic sounds. don't care about your camera.
Was the recording of the mics processed or raw? Because the Samson sounds great here, and most people say "you need to be 4-8 inches away from the mic for is to sound good".
I am really thinking about buying this mic, although I am not very certain of how long the micro to usb cable is. Or did you tell it in the video, and I just overlooked it.
Nice Microphone, but unfortunally, the background noise is way too present. You can check that i'm not alone to hear it, do a simple search on youtube for "samson meteor noise", you'll see. Ok, the noise I have is around -40db, but it makes it unusable for any "serious" recording. Use it for skype or what's app.
I really want to start commentating while gaming and would like to know how close to the mic you need to be while set up with a pop guard and boom stand
Felepeno I do too! well sort of, i bought a rusty one which nobody cared for but im refurbishing it and thinking on putting either a 2j, sr20, or a rb26 into it.
hi, I know I'm late. But this is a USB microphone, and USB microphone's don't run on sound cards. They get power and run audio through a USB port, making them universal and super convenient.
Bro I know you did this like one year ago, but I want to buy this mic and I've seen a lot of bad review on amazon because they sad in a couple of month it stops working. Do you think it is an high risk? Do you think it's worth it ? Thanks so much :)
The deal with the blue snowball is that you need to have the microphone a few centimeters away from your mouth in order to have a clear sound, not have it on a table like he got the samson in the video. I don't know why people don't bring that up tbh
I have question. my friends and I want to start a youtube channel. Is this a good mic for a podcast like channel? We sit in half a circle and watch one of us playing video games. would this be a good mic to set in front of my desk and capture all of us speaking or should I go for an omnidirectional microphone?
TheNoahdjong Thisbis a cardioid mic which picks up all sound around, great mix for price so I'd say this is the perfect fit...ps: it's also a large diaphragm mic so it can be good for capturing deeper tones if that is something that may interest you.
hey I have a question. Does this mic pick up noices from like ten feet away because I want it to use to broadcast on twitch but I have kids and they are a litle bit annoying but I wil place this mic on a room 10 feets away from them and with the door and windows close it do you think it will still getting theyre noices and also if it those can I set the mic to only pick sound from 1 feet away please I need help I dont know if this mic is the best thing to pick on the, store or I should wait to get morw money and bought a Blue yeti
I know that you uploaded this video year ago, but this quality is very good. My samson Meoteor Mic has ,,hiss'' noise all the time, do you know any fix for that?

this review sold me on this microphone. showed me everything I needed to know. awesome work.
Finally, a useful review/guide.
Thanks for an actual good review man! As you said not really many people had done a lot of testing but I can say that you honestly sold the mic to me! Thank you so much :)

Hey Toasty, thanks for the settings, definitely improved the quality of my voice recordings!
That's a very clear & smart review you're doing there.
I love the fact that the mike need not be placed on the same level as your head. And it sounds sexier too, haha..

I have another mic, newer - 700 and it sounds like sheeeee, i watched this tutorial and now it sounds perfect.

+R A F I D Thanks and I believe mine came at CD quality. I guess it depends on how your computer feels about it lol.

Fi see your pc in the background and was wondering wheteher you recommend building a pc in a desk?
I see that Datsun wallpaper there ;) I own a 280z myself!
Felepeno I do too! well sort of, i bought a rusty one which nobody cared for but im refurbishing it and thinking on putting either a 2j, sr20, or a rb26 into it.
Derrick I'm sticking with the L28 in mine. I want to get all the body panels cleaned up before i start thinking about engine mods!
hey do you mind if I put the link of your video in the description of my top 5 budget mics video so they can watch your mic test?
go right ahead!
Did you record Meteor on integrated sound card? If you hadn't, could you tell me what sound card did you use?
hi, I know I'm late. But this is a USB microphone, and USB microphone's don't run on sound cards. They get power and run audio through a USB port, making them universal and super convenient.
Am i the only one wondering where you are seeing this price because im on amazon and the chrome one is $66 so where are you seeing this price?
The original post was December 2015 so I'm guessing the price has increased since then.
Bro I know you did this like one year ago, but I want to buy this mic and I've seen a lot of bad review on amazon because they sad in a couple of month it stops working. Do you think it is an high risk? Do you think it's worth it ? Thanks so much :)
This mic still works for Jackson, no real issues.
Thanks you so much I am deciding if this is better or the blue snowball... What do you suggest?
The deal with the blue snowball is that you need to have the microphone a few centimeters away from your mouth in order to have a clear sound, not have it on a table like he got the samson in the video. I don't know why people don't bring that up tbh

This is a solid mic for that setup.
Toasty Bros Thank you! Then I'll buy this one soon!

Can I use this mic in games like overwatch cs go and in discord?
hey I have a question. You might wanna try to stream in your bathroom
Holy crap, that's a really nice microphone for the price, forget the AT2020 this is much better!
Right dude! I looked at alot of mics, but still choose this one.
Why is your server down?
Which stand did you use?
Would you mind posting a link to where I can buy it for $49.99 thanks!
amazon
How does this mic pick up loud singing?
Can i use it with windows 10?
I'm pretty sure it would be stupid, if it wasn't compatible with Windows 10 sales would go way down
it works =]
its a mini USB!!
smh, every time
I can make a 3d intro channel art or twitch otlr video overlay
That's a mini USB cable. Other than that great video. Keep it up!
Ah thanks for that. Didn't know there was a difference!
Sound good but i hear all mouse and keyboard sounds thats not good.
Nice video!

I know that you uploaded this video year ago, but this quality is very good. My samson Meoteor Mic has ,,hiss'' noise all the time, do you know any fix for that?
Try changing your micro USB cable :) Heard that works in some cases
