  • The third talk from evening one of the RBBP's 50th Anniversary Conference, on 15th March 2023.
    Abstract: This talk will explain how capercaillie are monitored across Scotland, including National Surveys, lek counts, brood counts and genetic monitoring. It will cover the various threats to this species and the current conservation work that is working towards securing the long-term future of this iconic species.
    Bio: Molly works as Capercaillie Advisory Officer for the RSPB, part funded by the Cairngorms Capercaillie Project and NatureScot. Her role includes providing advice to land owners, statutory bodies and NGO’s on beneficial management for capercaillie. She also leads on the national monitoring of capercaillie in Scotland.
