i love how chase refers to the smell of the sheets as an old sweater, which is exactly how sara describes the smell of the abbadon hotel in the first one
Biggest misdirection of this whole thing was the caretaker not being evil. As soon as I saw him I was like, "oh, he's in on it." But I guess not? So he just wandered around the place and was always fine?
I was also thinking that maybe he was keeping that one door purposefully locked for safety; maybe he found a way to create some kind of barrier? I could totally be reaching. I also don't know how Margot got the door unlocked....If I remember correctly, that was never clarified. Rebecca asked Margot, "you got the door unlocked?", and Margot just subtly nodded her head. Plus, the caretaker would know if they got killed or went missing, he would most likely be a prime suspect...not something he probably wants to deal with. It would have been interesting to see him being questioned though - considering the fact that their bodies were found.
Removing the found footage style will definitely kill the charm....This is one of the very few franchises that consistently pulls it off. KEEP THE FOUND FOOTAGE
Yeah..... True true, we all love FF, BUT.... It did get a lil corny when the 1989 surviving girl was filling everything with her 8mm camera. Seems a lil unrealistic having to lug that thing around while having her demonic sister running around. But I get it, there needed to be FF explaining things from then
Just watched it and to be honest it's not fully found footage even now. There's spooky music/sound effects that are completely extradiegetic, and the way it's edited together has no logic internal to the story (if the editing and sfx were supposed to be diegetic, it would be an incredibly disrespectful film to put together in the story's world, seeing as real people died and you're adding stingers to their footage and artistically making theatrical cuts). Shame, really. I agree the charm of such films comes from being raw footage given raw context.
I hated Margots character so much😂 I just couldn’t believe that she would still stay in the house after everything they’ve seen && how mad she for at her brother and girlfriend (the rational ones)

This movie gave me the creeps more than the other 3 movies. In my opinion, Margo should've left the storage room locked. If those clowns are indeed possessed by something, leaving it be would've kept them alive. Because they were not the only ones who stayed there for a few nights and others were okay. But if the clown is Patrick, who dressed up as the clown and laid dormant, I wonder why only after all these years only now he started killing again.
Yeah but Margo was supposed to have been sacrificed years ago, when she was a child, remember? She was almost kidnapped. That was with the whole hotel child sacrifice thing. So it kinda circled back when she went there.
I haven’t watched it yet, is it actually better than the first one? Because the first one legitimately the only horror movie without jumpscare that actually scared the hell out of me

I think whenever a sacrifice is made, it opens a gate. So... A gate at the hotel, another at the fair, and another at the manor. It would also explain how everything could be moved around. I feel like there being a gate at the house makes sense because that's presumably how the now-evil Katherine manifests in and around the manor, much like how the other evil entities at the Abaddon seemed to also be linked to the gate, or more likely, the Hell on the other side of the gate, which is the same Hell connected to ALL gates, and I can only assume through Patrick being influenced by the cult, he willingly opened a gate inside the manor after the hotel burned down because otherwise, his connection to his resurrected sister would be severed.

This movie scared me so badly that I had to ask my bf to go to the bathroom with me in the middle of the night. Those clown mannequins were terrifying.
See, I'm one of those sceptic killjoys when it comes to the paranormal. Hearing about places being haunted and whatnot doesn't bother me at all. I don't even believe in aliens. But I would have left the house the moment the bloody corpse showed up on camera. That would make a believer out of me in no time flat, and I believe that it's time to go!
I genuinely cried when I found out this film was being made. I absolutely love Hell House & I absolutely LOVE the clowns. Knowing some of the history to the clowns makes me love the series even more. Fingers crossed there's another one in the works due to that ending. Leaves so much space for a whole new evil chapter
Uh yeah, I was re-watching hell house ii. Turns out the Abadon Hotel isn’t the only thing linking this movie to the first three movies. Patrick Carmichael and his arrest that led him to missing the group suicide was mention
Actually the Margot "town fair" plot point ties in with the canned "abaddon tapes" series Episode 3 was supposed to follow Patrick using a local town fair to continue Tully's activity in 2003
I could be the only one, but I found this one possibly better than the first one. I am also surprised he mention the catch of pinstripe after the credits in the window.
I have to agree. The first one stands up on its own but this one is even better. The scares were very good and the characters are much more likable and interesting compared to the first, which makes the ending even sadder if you ask me
I still don't understand the clowns. - The clowns were not originally at the hotel. Hell House LLC brought them to the hotel in the first movie. The first time the team enters the basement they talk about how cool it would be to put a few of their clowns down there against the wall. Are we to assume that Alex somehow obtained the clown upon his initial arrival at the hotel, used it in his other haunt, and then brought it back to the hotel?
My own theory is that the evil guy who ran the hotel gave the clowns to Alex and his crew. This movie sets up the possibility that these hauntings happen over a person's lifetime so it's possible Alex was a target long before he started the haunted house work.
I’m pretty certain the clowns and chains were already down there, Patrick’s clown included because when the crew went down there they mention that they could use what’s already there as props. The clowns in origins were from the fair behind the hotel, plus having been used by fellow cult leaders in the past.
I have yet to watch this movie. I was so excited about the first Hellhouse movie knowing a horror movie was filmed 15 minutes from where I grew up. I used to work in two locations near the Hellhouse. One across the street and the other down the street next to the store you sometimes see in the movies. Plus the bar and restaurant that were shown in the 3rd movie I know from my hometown and my mom's hometown.
Wwooooooo i was just thinking yesterday how i was missing you 😅, then a new video pops up. Son just dropped of at nursery so i can watch in peaceful quietness 🤫. Though soon enough it will be time to listen to what he wants on UA-cam and him asking me to find a new video every 5 mins. So im enjoying every minute of this. Xx😊
Does anyone else think that the face of girl in the dungarees looks slightly 'off'(in the family photo at 01.46)? It's as though there's something mask-like about it. When you see her in the film, she looks normal but there's something about that photo that gives a sense of uncanny valley (to me, at least)...
I love this franchise and I am excited to see where it goes for the 5th film. Although the OG trilogy was hit or miss this 4th addition does add some cool lore while also keeping questions unanswered. I don't mind if they take it away from the found footage roots so long as they keep the same vibe in terms of spooky atmosphere.
Like the breakdown and video. one thing is @23:40 I believe what they mean is that no prints were found coming to the house and only one set of prints were leaving the house. Not so much that there was no prints at all anymore. Or at least that's how I interpreted it, I could be wrong.
It's always a good day when Founflix posts a vid. Whether it's an old favorite or a new film that I don't plan to see, I'd listen to this man talk about anything. 😂
I'm glad this movie wasn't bad, but sometimes it's best to let series end. Especially when your serial trivializes the stakes and ending of the previous movie.
This iteration weren't-no-joke. VERY well done and best of all, SCARY AS HECK. It had even more jump scares than the first film, AND they were effective. They tied it in with the original effectively, while giving it some new angles. Oh, you know there are more movies to come, right?
So we don't see how it all started. We just know dozens of dumb behind kept going into this house even though people were never seen again. I guess the military, law enforcement and whatever passes for the X-Files in this universe was not interested.
i love how chase refers to the smell of the sheets as an old sweater, which is exactly how sara describes the smell of the abbadon hotel in the first one

Uh yeah, I was re-watching hell house ii. Turns out the Abadon Hotel isn’t the only thing linking this movie to the first three movies. Patrick Carmichael and his arrest that led him to missing the group suicide was mention
I loved this one. Easily my 2nd favorite of the franchise
What’s the best one?
The 1st
Actually the Margot "town fair" plot point ties in with the canned "abaddon tapes" series
Episode 3 was supposed to follow Patrick using a local town fair to continue Tully's activity in 2003
I could be the only one, but I found this one possibly better than the first one. I am also surprised he mention the catch of pinstripe after the credits in the window.
I still give the edge to the 1st one but this is easily my 2nd favorite Hell House movie. It was so much fun
Wow the first one was pretty damn good so I’m looking forward to this. Can’t even watch this whole video now, don’t wanna spoil it
No one is ever the only one. No one is that unique and special.
@@englishatheartyou’ve certainly got the physical appearance of someone that would believe that.
I have to agree. The first one stands up on its own but this one is even better. The scares were very good and the characters are much more likable and interesting compared to the first, which makes the ending even sadder if you ask me
i actually love the hell house movies, i had no idea a new one came out so thanks for bringing it to my attention!
Watched this movie at night and I'm shocked that it actually made me scared unlike other horror movies!
The Clowns were already down there in the first movie they didn't bring them.
Please don’t stop the uploads to Apple Podcasts please. I love listening to it when on my doggo walk 😢😅
Chase was the GOAT. I was so sad when he died.
I've been waiting for you forever to do the descent part 2.
I had no idea there was a new hell house!!! I’m so pumped
holy shit I’ve been binging scary movies without even flinching and then I click this movie and holy fuckkkk it scared tf outta me.
Xx😊
Been waiting for this one. I quite enjoyed it.
This movie was really good! That clown is terrifying.
Does anyone else think that the face of girl in the dungarees looks slightly 'off'(in the family photo at 01.46)?
It's as though there's something mask-like about it. When you see her in the film, she looks normal but there's something about that photo that gives a sense of uncanny valley (to me, at least)...
Yeah, she looked plastic
I love this franchise and I am excited to see where it goes for the 5th film. Although the OG trilogy was hit or miss this 4th addition does add some cool lore while also keeping questions unanswered. I don't mind if they take it away from the found footage roots so long as they keep the same vibe in terms of spooky atmosphere.
Hey. It's champing at the bit. Love your reviews
A decent homage to Hell House LLC. I'm all for the aluded-to 'Fair'. The Cult grows stronger!
the pinnacle of scariness for me, is the screaming while the sun is still up, and the robbed figures appears
Like the breakdown and video. one thing is @23:40 I believe what they mean is that no prints were found coming to the house and only one set of prints were leaving the house. Not so much that there was no prints at all anymore. Or at least that's how I interpreted it, I could be wrong.
I've been waiting for you to do this movie !
I always thought this series was the scariest
Finally another Foundflix at last 😁
I needed something to watch. Thank you!
I was recently thinking of the original movie trilogy, and honestly am surprised to see they’ve made a new movie.
I absolutely love this movie! This is one of my favorite movies of the series.
It's always a good day when Founflix posts a vid. Whether it's an old favorite or a new film that I don't plan to see, I'd listen to this man talk about anything. 😂
Give me a 5th❣️
Patrick being part of Tully's cult, makes sense why there would be a gate at the Carmichael mannaer.
I'm glad this movie wasn't bad, but sometimes it's best to let series end. Especially when your serial trivializes the stakes and ending of the previous movie.
Can’t believe how much I loved the first one and even the second. Excited to see this!
This iteration weren't-no-joke. VERY well done and best of all, SCARY AS HECK. It had even more jump scares than the first film, AND they were effective. They tied it in with the original effectively, while giving it some new angles. Oh, you know there are more movies to come, right?
I've been waiting for this! I loved this movie
I'm suprised that this franchise even got a new entry. I thought the trilogy was nice and compact in it's own way
Please do Leave the world behind it’s so good
I like how smoothly he snuck in “longest title ever”.
So we don't see how it all started. We just know dozens of dumb behind kept going into this house even though people were never seen again. I guess the military, law enforcement and whatever passes for the X-Files in this universe was not interested.
It's so trash. This movies hook is so the next one can take place at the carnival where those clown Mannequins came from.
