Amen! I read all kinds of comments about people wondering when an album is going to come out and basically demanding new material from her. She's only 15! She has plenty of time to write and produce albums for us. We need to let her do it when it's best for her and her family. Right now I enjoy everything she gives us. I mean we do have 9 years worth of material to listen to!
Angelina's artistry is on full display. Her vocal gymnastics, lyrical interpretations and soulful delivery touches us so much we are in total awe of her. She has completely Angelina-ized this song and made it her own.
And, for all of us who have been in the Angelina camp for some time, wasn't that a beautiful moment when we saw grandma at the studio.
Leo, the day will arrive when she is officially marketed to the world and when that occurs she will receive the recognition from people all over the planet as one of the world's greatest artists. Yes, her journey may take us down several different roads during her lifetime but she will never stop singing. Her voice, coming from deep within her, is the connection she has to all of us and she will always remain in our hearts.
Remember at AGT when she was 13 she said that she had waited 10 years to sing for Simon. I don't think that she really ever made a choice to become a singer or a superstar, it's just who she has been since birth and we get to witness each stage of it. It's hard to fathom that she can keep getting better but here she is, distancing herself from everyone else.
Totally agree and I think her parents agree she is not ready yet to become a superstar she just wants to and needs to mature and grow up more just give her time and let her do it her way.

Other than Rolling in the Deep, I've never really cared for Adele's music.

You are so correct. There are so many singers that started early and ended up at some point in a bad place psychologically. Like you said, let’s hope she is not negatively affected by the fame and that she remains this humble and a family orientated person. So, yes -- Angelina was very young when she "chose" to be a singer/performer, and this choice connects her to the song. But she is not just musically brilliant; she is emotionally brilliant. Her family helped her define and make her choices, and she listened to them and believes in what they chose together -- which is one reason she starts out this video with her grandmother. She chose a path and then trusted her family to help her travel it. That's one dimension of what is so special and inspiring about Angelina Jordan.

Hi, Leo! Thank you for what I feel is your very best reaction to an Angelina performance. And thank you too for your wise words. I think you will find that the majority of Angelina's fans feel the same as you about "superstardom". They just want her to progress at her own pace, with the continued guidance of her family and, now, Republc Records.
I did have one fear as she entered her teen years with those hormones going rampant, that she would lose the wisdom she has shown in the past of accepting that the brakes her family put upon her eagerness to break into a gallop would desert her. That she hadn't done so says much for the unconditional love and nurturing she has received from her family. The only signs of rebellion - although I feel I am rather over reacting by writing those words - is the fact that she now has a TikTok account which, to me, she is using as an experimental platform to see just how far she can go in altering her appearance and over-singing a lot of what she uploads.
As far as I can find out, Angelina only stated that she wanted to be a "Superstar" on one occasion, a pre performance interview on Norway's Got Talent. Her main goal in life is to sing for the world and since her appearance at America's Got Talent at age 13, she is progressing towards that goal.
I've just checked to confirm that you had done a reaction to her performance of "I have nothing". It was her first attempt at really "belting" and I believe she was reaching her limit there. However, in the two years since then she has mastered the art - yet another one - and looks very comfortable at using this.

Leo, you get an inkling of what she has gone through in her song Seventh Heaven, when she sings, “Seventh Heaven falls heavy on my shoulders,” and “she wants to love the person looking back at her,” a lot of bitterness, there is nothing to do about it, sometimes she wants to get careless and let go of sadness, don’t give up, live with hope, etc.
She has had to make many adult decisions as a child, talk about pressure, but she has had the privilege of having the support of her family, but there are certain decisions she has to make solely on her own, I would imagine Angelina has had her share of heartbreak already at her age, Some of which we know about, and others we don’t.
It’s clearly obvious Angelina has found a kindred spirit in Adele‘s “easy on me” and it shows, Angelina embodies love, and is the salt of the earth,

I agree with you 100% Angelina can do whatever she wants, but right now she loves music and that’s what she wants, but she should never feel or be pressured because then it no longer is enjoyable and becomes another pressure, and once it becomes a pressure on her the music will never be the same, but I think it is safe to say at least for now that she loves what she’s doing. Never may that day come “when the music dies,” as has been said, “ Angelina is music.”
Angelina has always had a sense of her mission. You should read her book, which was drawn from her diary notes from her visit to Teheran at age 6.
As always, you have very thoughtful observations. As far as Angelina getting lost in the chase, everyone knows that she is very unique. I've noticed that in her stage performances she comes on at the last second and leaves fairly quickly - but, avoids rudeness. IMO, the reasons for this is that she is quite shy and she really abhors all the introductional fuss. A person like this "gets it" and "It" is big. She has all the earmarks of a highly evolved soul from what I've learned about her. Sometimes I get the feeling that in her live concerts, Angelina sees the audience as the star or at least, no less important than she. Now to me, that is profound - she is 15 years old but you could see it in her since age 8. Could go on and on about this SuperStar.

Thank you for your insights and reflections and totally agree with your perspective -- what is best for Angelina is what we should want for her.
I think your comments at the end of the reaction are insightful...I want to hear as much of Angelina as I can as soon as I can (I am 78 years old after all). But. But, I don't want it at her expense. I would rather she had time to "feel" the world around her. I can tell she loves to sing. But. But, there is the subtle trap of "...didn't get to choose what I chose to do". I continue to enjoy all of Angelina's recordings. I listen to as many as I can as often as I can. And there are plenty to choose from. In the end your suggestions lead me to believe Angelina exhibits an emotional plea that points to her own potential plight, whereas Adele has a plea in her vocal pointing to her relationship issues from the past. Quite different interpretations, wouldn't you say?

I think you make some great points .no one speaks of it but she is the bread winner for her and her extended family and that must be some extreme pressure on a child her age to finance that life style. Angelina is not the sole breadwinner for her family. You obviously don’t know how much she has raised and contributed to charity. She was born into a fairly wealthy family, with her grandmother’s artwork and a father who is in the oil business. Her’s is not a rags to riches story, but a talent story.

Leo, wise words indeed. Too much too soon, especially for female prodigies, is a definite danger. Two documentaries I'd recommend that touch on the subject are Once Aurora on her early career, and The World's a Little Blurry which does the same for Billie Eilish who was right about Angelina's age when she began to explode.
This performance though is a great exemplar of the growth of Angelina's tool kit. She's had that breathy low register and fry from the beginning. Her insane breath control I note was clearly evident by the time of her iconic I Put a Spell On You (the last phrase especially), and her belts seem to be growing more effortless. Now she seems to be working on her upper register/head voice and I am so here for it. What a performance!
That thing you pointed out about Adele taking a breath at the end of "EeEeEeEeEeEeEeEeay…" made me check her original again, and I just noticed that Adele sustains the high pitch longer than the low in each "Ee" cycle, whereas Angelina does the opposite. Had not noticed that before. (I believe Angelina goes through one more cycle than Adele does, as well.)
And Angelina's doing it in a more breathy manner as well which takes more breath generally. She's truly impressive.

Thanks Leo, I also really enjoyed the analysis of her new version. I loved the way Angelina also reassured us all about her grandmother, she did it with infinite delicacy and sweetness. This reinterpretation of the music that Angelina has chosen has really involved me a lot, it manages to be so emotional and passionate, but also so fluid and elegant to the point of being absolutely unique. It is practically impossible to describe. 💛 🧡 ❤️
For her future, I very much trust her, in her intelligence and common sense, but also in the beautiful protective and affectionate net in which her family has always enveloped her.

We can understand the difference in Angelina's understanding of "becoming a superstar" in her child's brain and sheepishly, gigglingly, holding onto her chair with all her might at seven years of age at Norway's Got Talent and the more realistic view she and her family have observed in the challenges experienced in the years as she has pursued her craft.
As a Angelina angel, I feel for those who don't know about her and therefore are not blessed with hearing her beautiful music. More importantly, I know it is best to continue to slow walk Angelina's career, allowing her to mature more and be much more likely to handle all that comes with being a superstar. So, please angels, go easy on her. BTW today the total number of views from the videos on her Official and Cover Channels has exceeded 100 million.
Glad to hear about the amount of total views. Right now "Easy On Me" is at about 169K, and should be much more at this point. It took months for "MILLION MILES " to hit 1 million. I often wondered if Reactors views count for Angelina? Adele's views were way up in the millions overnight, and she will be the one making millions of bucks from streaming, and C/D's while all Angelina gets is her angels saying "Well Done".. Life can be so unfair to those who try the hardest.
@@leebrn8588 I believe reactors views should count towards the total for the original video but sadly that is not the case. The views for Bohemian Rhapsody are more than 68 million in just under 22 months BUT only 2.2 million for the video on her Official channel. I am confident Easy On Me will get at least 1.5 million views in the first month.
@@andyschnell58 I felt so bad for Angelina when Million Miles first came out , and Olivia Rodrigo 's song "Drivers License " went viral, and made her a overnight sensation with the teen age drivers.. I think she had around 3 million views.

For me, that is the saddest part of having to be patient and allow Angelina to mature more, making it much more likely she can handle all that comes with being a superstar. I read one comment concerning "I'm Still Holding Out for You" believing Angelina's team never pursued releasing the song because they were confident it would be a huge hit and they didn't want her at age 11 to become a superstar. Yeah, I think she's there; she's ready vocally. As far as when she pushes the button, ultimately is up to her, I’m guessing. Her mom, grandma, uncle, and Republic records will continue to protect and support her, but she will know, herself when it’s her time. To me, it's never been about superstardom for her. We can not hold her to something she said at 7 years old. Aurora is a good model for her, in that she must do the music she wants to, the way she wants to. That's what we wish for her.
Republic Records copywrigthed this, so they had the permission from Sony, that's Adele's label. But recently Sony Pictures signed a deal with RR to use RR singers for Sony movies' soundtracks. Maybe a sort of collaboration...

There are too many covers of Easy on Me on UA-cam to even count Leo, so it must not be a violation for another artist to do. Some are great but of course none are Angelina's.

Chose what I wanted to do when I was around 4, 60 years later I am still on that path..it does happen.
Doug, my deciding on my career path happened when my Civics class assignment was to research something we "thought" in out 14/15 year old brains we wanted to do for a career.
I do not think I waver a day in my pursuit of fulfilling making that my life and profession. Invested 30 years in it, and, since retirement, have continued in pursuits related to it. Still would not have changed a step on that pathway.
Hi Leo. I share your concerns for her well being. If she stay true to her inner self and her creative spirit she will be fine. The glitz and glamour of stardom will be seductive but the love she has shown for family and the compassion for others she has displayed throughout her young life will always be her true muse. I won't fault her for exploring the exciting world around her. We all want to see all that life can offer, but I truly believe she has the wisdom to make the right choices to find true happiness.

You already have interesting comments from other viewers, so let me choose the musician’s perspective this time. Angelina uses (chooses!) a tone quality similar to Adele here, so she needs to use other tools to add something of her own. And she does! Already from the third note, Angelina changes the melody. Then she adds some Angelina-only vibrato inside the second quickly descending «easy» that almost defies physics. But the real tour de force is the bridge: that long line alternating a half-step between two notes which she does on one breath all the way to «on me» before she launches into a crisp, belted G5 («I had…»), then gives us a taste of Janice Joplin and ends up on another Angelic high (on «show»). My apologies to Adele fans, but this is next level musicianship and where Angelina puts more than two bare feet between the first original and her new and improved original.
In my opinion “Easy On Me” is not the greatest song, it is a mediocre song that is great because the finest vocalist of our time has chosen to perform it, Angelina Jordan. Angelina Jordan has the ability to take the mundane and make it spectacular. If I were a song writer I would be beating down AJ’s door.
I had the exact same thoughts than you on how the "I had no time to choose what I chose to do" relates to Angelina and her career path. But I also wonder if the "I changed who I was to put you both first" doesn't relate in some ways too. Not that she put her husband and son first like Adele but the compromises she had to make for her career. Changing countries, that's huge take it from someone who had to do the same, but also did you notice how on every interview, video, concert and studio recording like this one she has a very elegant and a bit old fashioned style but when posting on tiktok she uses a lot more makup, she shows more cleavage and uses colored contacts ? Nothing wrong with it for a 15 yo of course but it's not her usual style, is it something she likes but allows only on tiktok or is it something she does to get more views and better ratings ? Is she changing who she is to fit the glamour that is expected specially in the US ?
Agree with your comment about being a Superstar young is not necessarily a good thing. The list of female star singers who died before their time or developed serious drug/alcohol problems in my opinion as a result of their fame is very long. Would hate to see this girl on that list.
