Great job, I know it isn't easy work, but nice to see young farmers taking pride in doing their own fix it work. I put the beater bars in my 8820 & it was about 90 out, not fun. Excellent video, I will show it to my grandkids so they can see how a combine separates the grain, too tough to explain without seeing the inside of the machine. Thanks for putting it out for everyone.
Have 2 x 7720"s in Southern Sask that do small acres. Interesting how similar the mechanical design is other than the size. 9600 series was one of Deere's best. Enjoyed the detail you show about the repairs. I dont like it whenaoeone just snaps their fingers and it is magically repaired!
Great informative video! I noticed that you had no filler plates between the rasp bars, have you always ran that way? What crops are you mainly running? Was looking forward to seeing the new feeder chain going in with the poly pieces too!
@@travismackey2271 glad you liked the video. I’ve had my filler plates out and it works good. I grow mostly beans and corn but it does work without them in wheat. I’ll try to get it on video this harvest of the poly feederhouse chain. It is definitely quieter.
@@kylelee4533 a guy out of Indiana. Google Trimpe C Hard Surface Inc and it’ll have his contact info. Super nice guy to work with. Tell him you saw his product on my video.
@@farmingwithfamily8717 I bought one from local farm supply store just for this. makes it way safer. can place it back so easily that you don't have to crawl over the straw walkers to hook up the beater grate.

I'm so glad Jerry's old combine is finally getting some well deserved tlc...
Yep. It’s been a good combine. Time to keep it running like a well oiled machine.

Laying plywood across the auger bed makes it so much easier
Loved our 9610 but don't miss it. Replaced with a 9770.
Changing the vanes is a real torture test.
Sorry about that rock but it feels like it's a new machine now.
Yes all the new parts made a big difference this harvest.
Just an observation very difficult job but I would chock up the machine with blocks while the wheel is off, never trust a jack.
I as thinking about that after we finished. In the future we will.
Where did you source your rasp bars??

simple cherry picker is all one guy needs to pull that concave out.
That would have been a good idea. I should have borrowed one from a neighbor.
