"They're sure not practicing social distancing... I wonder how much toilet paper they have stuffed up there..." Eli's a pretty funny kid! That was seriously crazy how many fit into that small space!
I worked for 8 years as a wildlife removal technician.. people would call and tell.me they have one bat in the attic...almost always be like closer to hundred..lol. awesome video
That's ceazy!! Man i got hypnotized by the natire sound, those birds sounds really relax yo. Can imagine a morning in you front porch drinking the morning coffee, beautiful place man.
I love sitting around the fire pit just before dark and watch the aerial maneuvers of the bats flying around catching skeeters. Bats are getting fewer and fewer every year. I once cut down a dying tree and when I was cutting it up, I saw it was hollow and the sawdust was moving. I stopped sat down and watched 17 bats crawl out of that tree and fly away. Felt bad. Sixty Two ! That is awesome.
They are fun to watch that's for sure! Yea as much as I've been out and about in the woods / swamp seems like I would have come across a covey (if that's the word) of em as some point...but never have! Have a great week brother!
That is crazy how many came out of them boxes. We have them in our chimney sometime but not like that. Cool seeing all of them flying out like that. Have a Blessed Day Friends! Justin
Hey man...thanks for stopping by! Hmmmm...it was three years ago...I know I got it online from a company in TX...I’ll think! I got a 16’ 4x6 and its 4’ in the ground...so 12’ high. Good luck man!
We have them all over the airport! Luckley I haven't had to go catch one in the concourse yet but some of my coworkers have. We have the "top of the line" equipment (protective glasses, big yellow cleaning cloves and a fishing net) hahahahahahah Sweet upload thanks for sharing!
Yeah nothing beats bats. That’s cool to make a space for them. Man in the caves you can find dozens in a small space. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were 50-100 in each box. I’m waiting for the end to see!
Hey great video that is a very impressive number of bats. Did you make these bat houses or get them pre built?? If you built them I was wondering if you could do a build on them maybe in addition to these two. Im really interested in having some of the same bat houses as you have here. We get torn up by mosquitoes. Can never have to many bats
Howdy y’all- that was amazing! I had no idea there would be that many ! I don’t ever see any around here anymore. We used to see em all the time when I was growing up. Thanks for sharing that. God bless y’all
I knew it was going to be high number! That was really cool to watch! We have a family of them that stop and nest in our chimney each year. They are here for a short time, have babies and then leave. I should build a box like this for all the bats here. Thank y'all for sharing!!
Cruze's Louisiana Outdoors The fireplace hasn’t worked for a long time from what I was told. I’m definitely building one of these though. We love bats and hate bugs. Take care man!
CPro Fishing Ya man...we counted again tonight and got up to 74 lol...they bringing new friends home every night :-). We do the same thing but use pea gravel! Thanks for stopping by dude...have a great day
Hey man thanks for stopping by...I've heard that once ya get wasps its hard to get rid of em...if you use spray evidently the bats will never go in there...or a long time. I'm really not sure
I put my bat house up 3 or 4 years ago and was convinced until this evening that I had installed a wasp house...that's all I ever knew was in there. No spray, but I'd occasionally beat on the post with a 2x4 when it was real cool in the mornings...the wasps would come out, but it was too cold for them to fly, so they'd fall to the ground, where I gleefully stomped every one that came out. That went on for sometime, until I stopped seeing wasps up there. Tonight, though, I happened to be looking up at the house and DOZENS of bats came pouring out! I think maybe I have Little Brown bats...they weren't nearly the size of those coming out of Cruze's house. I'm going to order another house and put it on the opposing side of the post this winter, so when they reach capacity in that house, they can expand into the other!
Wow that is incredible. They are packed in there like sardines. Truly amazing. I love y'alls place. Very nice. I noticed in the background that ya'll modified your squrell obstacle. Looking forward to seeing how that worked
Yea man...I've now changed the saying to they are packed in there like 'bats' haha! lol...yes the squirrel course...we are typically about 3-4 episodes ahead of what is edited :-) You weren't supposed to see that lol
I’m curious, how tall is that post you have the houses on? I’ve had a bat box on a tree for a few years now and only one resident that I’ve known of. It’s not an ideal location with sun exposure and whatnot so I’m considering adding a post to mount one or two houses on. How long of a post is that? Thanks.
Hi...this post is in the middle of the sun in South Louisiana...I don't think they care too much about the heat :-) That's a 16' 4x6 2' in the ground...top of pole is 14'...so boxes around 12' off ground. Hope this helps good luck!
Wow! Those things devour mosquitoes . . . so I think they are awesome. We set one up at my mam and dad's place a few years ago, but I am not sure they ever got any to call it home. Really cool video guys!
That’s absolutely crazy! What’s in the boxes? Why do they want to be in them? I can’t stand bats that’s bizarre for sure. I hear they will actually land on your head. I’m glad we don’t have any here in Missouri. Thanks for sharing. Blessings my friends
Howdy y'all! Thanks for stopping by! Ooooo nothing is in there its just the 'perfect' size / shape / opening that they look for to make their base camp! lol...oh and I promise you DO indeed have bats in Missouri :-)
Great vlog my friends. It's amazing how many can huddle together in such a confined space. I bet if you were to point a thermal camera at the boxes, they would be really hot. I wonder if there is a phone app that would do that? Don't know .Nice one guys . .#4
Hey dude...thanks for stopping by! Nah...I bought that from a company out of Texas...I looked at some plans but looked like too much trouble haha! Have a great day!
This was very interesting. Funny how it took two years for them to come. I need to build some bat houses. I know, at the farm, in the barn with metal roofing, they sleep in between the metal and the 1x6's. even on a hot day, they are there.
That's pretty cool man...I've seen em around my whole life...but never in the quantity / concentration seeing em now...the sky above our yard looks like a bat convention at dark :-)
You got to be real careful when you feel them fluttering around your ear like that… You never know if a Manu Ginobili is watching! He’ll take your ear off! LOL
I lived in Prairieville for 6 years. I built some bat houses to sell at a craft fair, everyone that walked by went ew. The locals do love their mosquitos I guess.
I would not have thought so many would pack themselves into such a small space, but the proof is on the film. I'd never even heard of bat boxes either. Ain't YT cool? I learn new stuff all the time.

When we get moved to Kansas, we'll need to attract them or keep them around for all the bugs that come off the creek. ...obviously they don't need much space to sleep.
lol kinda did sound like that :-) Hmmmmm I don't...I actually bought these at a flea market and just throwed em up bout 12' above the ground...took 3 years for the bats to find it!
We've seen a huge reduction in both mosquitoes and garden insects since these amazing creatures have adopted us! Thanks for visiting!
“We don’t have a big garden” proceeds to show the biggest garden I’ve ever seen
You should add more bat houses..❤❤😊😊
