Your singing wasn't bad at all, man. Some missed notes here and there, but those actually help the autotune sound. Don't be so hard on yourself, it sounded fine and it was completely raw.
From what I understand Kanye actually used harmony engine to do this. To get a closer effect you should sing one track and set up vocalsynth with polyvox turned on and set to accept midi input. Then play out the harmonies on a keyboard or program it with midi notes. You have the right idea though, good video.
The harmony engine doesn't work for all the little timing differences though. Bon Iver's general vibe is absolutely based on multitracked vocals, not on harmony mode, and you can hear that with the timing variation between layers. Kanye in general though might do that, I haven't listened closely to much of his stuff
@@mitch_tmv you‘re right. the messina vocoder effect they use is made with the antares harmony engine. but this sample is from the track „woods“ from bon iver where justin clearly layered several takes to harmonize
Omg... One of my favourite songs... The original (Bon Iver ''Woods'') is lower on 2 semitons, so vocals in Kanye's version already sounds a bit unnatural. How did you find in what pitch you should sing on each vocal part? By ear?
Wow never considered vocal synth for pitch correction... I'm all on your side bar looking for waves tune or autotune tryna do a shoot out (I have waves tun) but nope, all coming from vocal synth. be back in 5 minutes to finish this video. I GOTTA TRY JUS PITCH CORRECTRION USING VOCAL SYNNTH LOL (DIDNT MEAN TO CAPS LOCK, BUT FUCK IT WE HERE!)
It’s actually a better demonstration with someone who can’t sing as good as Bonny Bear. It shows how good the plug-in and processing is. Catch this sub
lol not even remotely close. Even with professional vocals doesn’t even touch the surface of harmony engine (Antares). Would highly recommend skipping over all of isotopes plug ins for that matter. Absolute garbage
Man had the balls to play his vox bypassed. You just earned a subscription lol
well he doesnt really benefit from it since this is splice's channel right?
@@joost3783 you must be fun at parties
lmaoo
What do that mean?
😂😂😂
just know you are a real one for previewing it while bypassed lmaoo
An easy sub from me for being brave enough to play your vocals raw. You and Bon Iver have this similarity: both underrated.
You may not know how to sing but you just changed my music experience. Thank you it’s highly appreciated ❤️
bro reassured me that my singing dream won't die a dream

Thanks for remaking the video guys! You are GOAT

Brilliant man. Your video is an excellent example of an out of the box method! Creative and very raw! You get my like!

This is a great suggestion, cheers
I think if you use both harmony engine and vocalsynth like layering you can get the best of both worlds

one of the funniest production moments of all time with the dry vocal, so truelmao
Solid vid, thanks a lot!!
1:54 this joke made my day XD
you can copy paste the Fm hard tuned vocal synth instead of putting it again and change the parameters

How did you find in what pitch you should sing on each vocal part? By ear?
yes by ear.... it took a pretty long time lol
Alex Kurty FL studio actually finds the key, if u put the sample in edison, click tools and key finder (I think).
3:24 yeah i know right
5:49 forgot to put it on f minor
lol this was perfect.
Now make the ending of lost in the world by using the sample
Lol that was brutal
no panning?

Izotope's Autotune is quite inferior to Antares or Waves though, not really what Vocal Synth is for.
crazyyyyyy
