      I don't know, Kangaroos sure are a pest, especially to the human populace. However, I would bet that wild hogs do far more damage to the environment. You could kill and process 20 wild pigs at a time and it wouldn't really touch their populations and would in fact help preserve the eco-system.

      @dfss csss I am not sure of the situation in Australia, I was more talking about the United States, namely in the South. In the States it is not really that expensive to pay for a helicopter ride and shoot down dozens of hogs at a time from the air. Even with them being hunted and trapped basically all season round in most places, they still manage to proliferate and destroy any ecosystem they touch because they eat just about anything and everything.

    • @WorshipInTruth
      @WorshipInTruth 5 років тому +1

      @dfss csss "But they can't be sold as food because they are full of worms, bacteria and a lot have Tuberculosis and other diseases."....Not sure if you can really sell it here either but you are free to shoot hogs on site and have them butchered and eat them yourself. I mean you won't really see hog meat sold in stores because stores don't typically sell hunted game, only farm raised animals, also hog meat will not be nearly as tasty as raised pig but at the end of the day it is pork and can be eaten, like all pork it must be cooked and prepared properly.

    Kangaroo farming is not only better for the environment but better for the animal, the kangas are free range and being killed by snipers is better than led to a slaughterhouse. Poor cows are terrified at the slaughterhouse they sense the death. It is a cruel way for the animal to spend its last day.

    • @tasmedic

      I agree. However, to make matters even better, the Government should allow us to use moderators/suppressors on our rifles, so we don't scare the living daylights out of the kangaroos next to those we are shooting. Go figure how dimwitted our politicians are.....

    • @mikeyunovapix7181

      wouldn't a suppressor affect the accuracy of a rifle?

    • @mysty0
      @mysty0 7 років тому +3

      Suppressor only creates more drop, or an increased trajectory, all which can be compensated for

    • @lilaclizard4504

      so what's the reason for not allowing that? I saw that in the regs & thought it was a bit weird. What's the reason for no semi-auto too? The regs also specify that, but apparently for feral pigs that's the standard, so why the difference for kangaroos? Seems like it would make sense to shoot a number in short sucsession (as long as the shooter's up to that of course, but if they can do it with pigs, I can't see why they wouldn't be able to with roos)

      There IS a ban on killing most species of roos & wallabies, because so many are endangered. • @lilaclizard4504
      @lilaclizard4504 6 років тому +14

      yeh great, now let me tell you what happens when we stop culls. In 2002, 18 million died - 1/3rd of the population. We didn't shoot enough of those "husband" roos, so instead of the joey loosing it's dad, the joey was evicted from it's mothers pouch as she began starving to death. It sat there in the hot sun, not knowing what to do, eventually starving to death & creating lots of food for flies.
      More & more suffered this fate & as they did, more & more flies were born, until eventually the flies didn't even wait for the babies to die. As soon as they were ejected they started swarming & biting the babies. As the babies became too weak to fight them off, they began to burrow into their orrifices (nose, mouth, eyes, anus) & lay their eggs.
      The eggs hatched & the hungry maggots set to work, the baby roo's skin could be seen to be visibly crawling as the maggots moved around & feasted & started eating their way out. By now the babies were too weak to move, they just lay there panting as the maggots ate them alive from the inside, eventually bursting through the skin & flying off as flies, finding the baby's mother not that far away & now in nearly the same condition from starvation & so the process repeated, the flies entered the orrifices, laid their eggs & the maggots ate the mother to death from the inside out.
      The "husbands" were generally the strongest, they mostly survived & for the next decade fought over the right to "rape" the handful of females who had survived the slaughter that nature dished out, many of them never finding a new "wife" & many fighting each other to the death over the handful of females & female babies as they neared an age where they could reproduce. It took a full decade for the population ot recover & sex ratios near balance again & now we have a choice to make, are we going to cull some of the big old males who have already reproduced & passed on their genes, so that there is enough food for their babies to survive? Or are we going to watch as the babies are all slaughtered by starvation & maggots?
      This isn't bambi! This is real life & in real life, apex predators are critical to functional eco-systems & in Australia, humans are the only apex predator & have been in that role, stabilising roo numbers for 80,000+ years.
      Don't preach a 2000 year old religion & claim it says not to eat roos when your God didn't even know they existed, let alone understand the eco-system here & how the humans who belonged to this land had been managing it since before those who would write the bible even displaced the neanderthals in Europe!
      Looking after roos means controlling their numbers, anything else is cruelty & neglect www.centralwesterndaily.com.au/story/5202704/mass-roo-death-shame-in-western-nsw/?cs=103

      Sorry Berg Fish :( Just annoys & upsets me so much when vegans think they're being wonderful to animals while creating such horrors.
      Horrible as it is, I just feel that knowing about it may have the power to prevent at least some of this & that's worth it isn't it? If we can save even one animal from this?
