I don't know, Kangaroos sure are a pest, especially to the human populace. However, I would bet that wild hogs do far more damage to the environment. You could kill and process 20 wild pigs at a time and it wouldn't really touch their populations and would in fact help preserve the eco-system.
@dfss csss I am not sure of the situation in Australia, I was more talking about the United States, namely in the South. In the States it is not really that expensive to pay for a helicopter ride and shoot down dozens of hogs at a time from the air. Even with them being hunted and trapped basically all season round in most places, they still manage to proliferate and destroy any ecosystem they touch because they eat just about anything and everything.
@dfss csss "But they can't be sold as food because they are full of worms, bacteria and a lot have Tuberculosis and other diseases."....Not sure if you can really sell it here either but you are free to shoot hogs on site and have them butchered and eat them yourself. I mean you won't really see hog meat sold in stores because stores don't typically sell hunted game, only farm raised animals, also hog meat will not be nearly as tasty as raised pig but at the end of the day it is pork and can be eaten, like all pork it must be cooked and prepared properly.
Kangaroo farming is not only better for the environment but better for the animal, the kangas are free range and being killed by snipers is better than led to a slaughterhouse. Poor cows are terrified at the slaughterhouse they sense the death. It is a cruel way for the animal to spend its last day.
I agree. However, to make matters even better, the Government should allow us to use moderators/suppressors on our rifles, so we don't scare the living daylights out of the kangaroos next to those we are shooting. Go figure how dimwitted our politicians are.....
so what's the reason for not allowing that? I saw that in the regs & thought it was a bit weird. What's the reason for no semi-auto too? The regs also specify that, but apparently for feral pigs that's the standard, so why the difference for kangaroos? Seems like it would make sense to shoot a number in short sucsession (as long as the shooter's up to that of course, but if they can do it with pigs, I can't see why they wouldn't be able to with roos)
Your really dumb there is no such thing as a sniper it’s just called a rifle even the army has rifles they were just normal rifles before they were modified there is no such thing as a sniper rifle

Lidl in Europe has frozen kangaroo year round for 20€/kg. Ummmm, isn't that too cheap considering kangaroo is hunted not farmed?🤔😮
no, because there are double or triple as many Roos as there are humans in Australia
They are huge too! I've never seen any frozen kangaroo in my Lidl though (I am from Poland though).
