A friend bought this album and then we made copies so we could all have it available for listening. This one aged better than the other albums.

solid album. talented and hungry musicians fighting for a meal ticket. usually produces the best music. every member of Limp B knew their lane and every member executed on this one. greatness.
By far, their best album. Still gives me goosebumps.
I saw this band at the Vans warp tour Boulder, Colorado in the summer of 1997 before anyone really knew who they were. They were not even playing main stage.

@@brandonl.kingston635 This is more "true" nu metal than Slipknot. Slipknot is more influenced by extreme metal, like Eeyore is just grindcore. This is the archetype of nu metal with it's heavy hip hop influences.

The only album by Limp Bizkit I genuinely like. The rest i enjoy in an ironic "this is so ridiculous its dumb fun" kinda way.
I like most of their stuff a lot, but yeah if you compare this album to something like Nookie or Rollin' your description is kinda spot on. This IS their best album by far.
Also how about TUT part1? It's also very heavy, but has totally different sound and tone. Much less hip-hop influenced than 3$Bill. It was more of a alt metal, while 3$ is nu metal.

"Pollution" may still be the angriest song these guys ever wrote, 25 years later, and the anger in this album is very real, unlike the fake variety in poser bands like Sevendust, Mudvayne, POD, etc.
I agree, I can't stand any of the diet nu metal imitators like staind, Lincoln Park, Chevelle..I did enjoy coal chamber though, that shit still slaps. I also love the deftones, but I never really fully considered them nu metal
Expect mudvayne are far angrier and heavier than bizkit ever were. I love both personaly....

I kinda feel like Fred Durst normalized Screaming, paving the way for a slew of metal, screamo and post-hardcore bands.
Maybe someone knows - how prevelant was "the scream" in music prior to this album? Pantera and other metal bands definitely had the growls down, but in terms of a higher pitch scream I can't really think of any examples.
