Until all the relevant information is posted, here are some basic facts. Name of Group: RF JAM. Originated in Trinidad and Tobago 1980s. Members were Francis Escayg, Ronald Sylvester on Drums, Michelle Smith (Laidman)on the Keyboards, and Joanne Brown lead singer. Name of the song is ‘Meet me on level 2’.
OMG...I thought that was Frances, but I know him as a filmmaker. Was not aware he did music. Also he looks very good for his age because I remember being a toddler when this video use to air.
This is a serious throwback! When this single came out I could not believe that Trinidad & Tobago produced such a talented group that gave us this amazing music! They should try try a remix and re-launch of their songs, really.
Brought back my teenage memories. This production could of compared with what was considered international at the time.. Really appreciate what Visual Art is putting out...keep up the good work
This song and video was beyond it's time, a true classic . At that time we didn't know we were witness to something that would become so great dear to us.
Imagine how timeless music is. Almost 25 yrs after you commented and almost 30?years after I am commenting on your comment. Testimony speaks volumes about the song
Back in the day! It's said that it's not always good to look back, but in this case it is. Remember listening to this in a maxi, on TTT, in Upper Level. So much nostalgia and longing for a past that was simpler than the present.
This song came out in the 1980’s and I was very young but I would like to say that the folks who sang and played music in this era had natural talent. The local bands was much better than now..
I used to see this video ever so often on ttt channel on Saturdays. Did not no who they were or where they were from. Found out years later. Rf jam, r for robin and f for francis.yep, great song. I think we really downplayed the potential of our music in Trinidad and Tobago
Heard this on the radio in a taxi in Trinidad, the instrumental intro and the line 'Meet Me On Level 2' stuck with me. So glad I was able to find this video with that same song online - thanks for sharing!
That was the era parents cudda leave there children to watch tv go about there business and doh hadda panic about anything that contaminating there minds
Some other facts are that the exact lyrics for the verses are also from song called Heartbreak City sung by Brown and Ajala. There is a video for that track as well. The connection with RF JAM and Ajala is that when they started they were all members of the band Fire Flight
Yes, the writer of Heartbreak City, Francis Escayg decided to turn the song into Meet Me on Level 2. He is also the one who decided to form RF Jam and migrated to Canada after Meet Me On Level 2 became a major hit song in Canada where he honed his skills as a songwriter, producer and guerilla marketer in the Canadian music industry. He currently resides in TT where he now runs an NGO called Cause An Effect focused on Disabilities related issues.
Where did you even find this. I was looking all over the internet for this like 5 or 6 years ago. I gave up and figured this video was lost to time never to be seen again. Really happy to finally see this piece of my childhood once again.
these was the good days and goods music barely crime and food prices were goods i miss those days when tnt was tnt not now in 2021 bring back the old time days
