Glad to see Yamaha did something and moved the oil filter up top. Easier, dryer, and less rust 👏
Great point!
My Yamaha dealer told me if I go on salt, to spray everything down with protectant. You spray the head (after removing cover), the oil filter cap, and anything with metal on it even near the engine - with Yamaha's very own water based lubricant & protectant called Yamaha marine silicone spray. They said it's good to do regularly even on fresh water, but you HAVE to do it all the time if you ride salt or else your stuff gets rusty. That's in addition to doing a flush each time. Thanks for the video!
The protectant spray is called yamalube silicone spray lubricant and protectant
My man just sounds like miami. I love it
Just came across your video, love it. Great info. Been waiting for jet ski service guy to return our call...covid and everything going on, no call back.. Going to do this our self.. Hello from AZ and thank you for your video.
Glad it was helpful!
bought the oil pump last night gonna work on my waverunner this weekend thanks for the video!
Here because I watched your last video. 👍👍
Thanks for watching
Nice job showing the struggle to maintain a bunch of toys - good tips thanks
Excellent video and good information. Thank you.
I will be buying an FX very soon.
Great family, great life brotha
Much appreciated, thanks
Awesome video Fresco the way you explained the oil change great to know 👍
I always half full my filters before installing and use the starter motor to get up oil pressure that way i don't get the engine knock and wear on bearings when you start after oil change
Fresno , when you do the oil change put a Ziploc bag on the inside holding the filter as you want screw it you can hold the dirty oil on the Ziploc bag and it’s a lot easier you won’t spell that much in the actual compartment of the Jetske and there’s a liquid called corrosion X spray that on it it helps prevent corrosion from the salt water
Great video man. Really informative and makes me feel more confident to do the maintenance when I get mine 💯
Glad I could help
This was very informative, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Good practice is to have at least 3/4 or 75% of your oil capacity added before you start the engine. Then start run for a short period then off. Let oil settle, then check until top-up.
Thank you my brother I really enjoy your video
Thank you bro
You talked you are sorry for the service people messing with thier business...not really, your great video will save me money I can give my guy for a stage 2 tune instead of this stuff I can now do. I don't have kids...but a supercharger so I wanna go 80+. Thanks for the vid.
Lol sounds great! Thanks for watching.
Very good video. Great tip to paint the filter.
Another good thing to do is spray down the entire engine and other parts inside the ski with WD-49 and it will never rust and look like brand new always. It is a jet ski racers trick. Buy it by the gallon and put it in a spray bottke. After you flush and wash the jetski, spray everything inside the ski with WD-40 and nothing will rust ,including the oil filter.
Oye Fresco, did you end up eating that mango that was on the ground? That thing looked good.
No bro, king ate it lol.
Fresco add heavy duty grease around the oil filter where it meets the engine. It will help with the rust. And buy Yamaha lube use it after every ride to protect the engine.
Nice video! It’s gonna save me a lot of money i think.
Glad to hear it! Thank you
Thanks so much for posting this video I need to also drain all the fuel in my gas tank do you think that pump should work for that as well. Thanks again this was really helpful.
Thank you, i have never tried to use gas but i suggest you research it first
The oil is what lubricates the pump ,gas or water will burn up the pump
If you are wanting to remove the fuel for winter storage, that is the worst thing to do. You should fill your tank to the top and add a fuel stabilizer for storage. you want to keep the tank full of gasoline to prevent condensation fron forming inside your tank.
Thanks Gerry I was needing to just drain so old gas and replace with new because it sat for a couple years.
This was the most entertaining and informative video I watched on this. Thanks my man! Gonna make my job easier for sure.
Glad you liked it!
Deberías calentar el motor un poco antes de extraerlo para que estuviera más liquido fuese más fácil para la bomba. Un consejo de mecánico. Un saludo y ánimo con el canal
Fresco: You Can Write the Date of Your Oil Change On Your Oil Filter Too Sir ⚓️🚤⚓️
Thank you , it was helpful. ,.God bless you
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! I use silicone spray on mine after I rinse it out. No oil change yet for me. Still riding a 2 stroke lol!
Thanks for the lesson; castaic would have my ski for two months and $$$ to do this.
No problem, thanks for watching
All you need to do is after washing the ski, put wd40 with silicone. The can is silver and yellow, it's sold in Wal-Mart or home depot. I've had my vxr for 2yrs and the engine still looks brand new. Try it and let me know.
thank u im going to try it
Thank you ... Very good 😊😊😊
Welcome 😊
@@frescochannel 🥰
Mi consejo de mecánico de yamaha es que si puedes utiliza siempre filtros originales. Un saludo
Nice. ...capetine
Fresco 🎉👍
thanks
good idea painting the filter...good vid
Good job bro. Love the video
Thank you!
Good video 👌🏼
Nice work bro!. Ive done similar things and was confident I could do it. You've confirmed my suspicions thank you!.
You can get a measuring jug to see how much old oil you've taken out, so when you put the new oil in you do under or over fill.
I was thinking of either changing the spark plugs or cleaning them up.... optional I know was wondering..
Also was thinking of putting new oil, in the filter before installing it.
Does it have an air filter?? Should the be changed too? Just curious brother? If anyone could answer that would be great?
Thank you! Not really sure about cleaning air filters I never did that.
Hola !!
Fresco sigue con esos videos
Bendiciones .
Thanks for the video
My pleasure!
Great video, thanks for sharing all of the information...
is it a gallon that is supposed to come out inside all jetsky?
Good job man
Always coat your oil filter with red grease to keep it from rusting!
What type of oil would I use for 2002 Yamaha gp1200r .?
Thanks for making the video and sharing, but you said that your other waverunner is faster then your supercharged one? but it is more comfortable?
The GP is less comfortable.
Use a chip clip to keep hose in the bucket
Rivas charges 180 to 220 for the basic maintenance wich is just the oil and filter. And the other maintenance wich I'm not sure exactly what they do cost around 420. Believe or not prices vary depending on wich Rivas you go to.
Mucho Gusto from Atlanta, GA!! Awesome How-To video, I have always wondered how an oil change was done on "skis" before man Lol. Have you ever thought about Private Labeling (putting your name on a product) any of the products you recommend and sell them on AMZ personally? Just curious
Thank you bro i appreciate it, yes i have ideas, just haven't put them into use yet.
theres a spray they sell i forgot the name but it protects everything just spray all over a good amount and theres this purple lube and get a small paint brush and pass over all the screws
fluid film
In California oil and filter $205. Oil, filter and spark plugs over $300
Way cool video Fresco, dig the mangos bro!
Thanks
And a finger full of oil around the gasket to make the seal tight(old mechanics trick).
You save me $500 my man 👍
A mi me están cobrando, 185.00 por el mío. Ahora lo voy a ser yo tambien, gracias por la información
This video was super helpful hopefully one day I’ll see u at hallover
I just ordered the oil pump. How has it held up ?
Still working good bro lol
@@frescochannel sounds good 👌
Does it hurt to run the engine out of water?
Only if its without water and you run it for very long lol
No it dosent. Only thing is that it will overheat if you leave it running out of water too long. Because engine is water cooled.
Thanks you my brother
Any time
hello boss. I want to ask. My jet ski has a problem. after I changed the new filter. then I tried to turn it on suddenly my jet ski didn't want to be gassed even though I had pulled the gas there was no power at all
can you explain what the problem is and also how to solve it
Wena fresco de chile te saluda pescador y mekanico DIOS te guarde
saludos de miami
Buen video, se puede decir que es educativo...Poe lo menos lo hiciste ver como que es fácil---!
what year is that jet ski?
2018
Sweet, appreciate response and this tutorial saved me from 2-3 week wait on shop.
By the way if you spray your engine with salt Terminator and wash it off and let it dry good all of the salt water residue will go away and wash it like that each time. I live in Virginia and ride in the ocean and it alwaya work. Also roll up a towel and put it under your seat so moisture will evaporate
and the spark plugs super easy stuff
Add (strap) a weight to the hose and it will stay where you put it
I hate to be that guy, but I have to correct you on the oil taken out. You will never get the full amount of oil out. You will only be able to get 3/4 of it unless you remove oil from the bottom of the engine. There should be an oil pan nut on the bottom, but it is extremely difficult to get to. You would probably end up with a lot of oil in the hull. The way you are doing will only yield 3/4 oil capacity. Each oil change you are actually mixing old with new oil. It won't hurt the motor at all. As far as the oil filter rusting, you need to change the oil more often bro! Just sayin. Fluid Film is the best for anti rust. The stuff smells like shit but can be used on all metal, plastic, and rubber surfaces. Still enjoyed your video man! No video is perfect but, but something can be learned from each!
Hey question.. can we get eletric pump and also do u keep skis outside mostly i live in Texas weather here like urs...
Yes, you can keep them outside.
Engine bay is horrendous in this ski. I ride salt water all the time and it has never looked like this. Bad maintenance lack of cleaning that is the result.
For heaven's sake, I'm going to save a lot of money😂😂😂
Tenias que ponerle el mango encima de la manga para aguantarla lol jk, Good video.
Traditional oil filter wrenches proved useless. Finally used a standard channel lock and it worked like a charm.
Thanks bro
They also make oil filter sockets that go on a 3/8 ratchet that work good to
How often do I need to do an oil change?. How much oil is in the jet ski?. Thanks for the video,
Thanks for the support bro, i believe it usually depends on what engine you have mine holds around 4.5 quarts of oil
great video well explained thank you
Awesome
Fresco y donde votas el aceite viejo.
wow thank you and a quick comment i wish i can eat the coconuts fresh of the Palms👍
You can do whatever you put your mind to, one day you'll be munching on the coconuts you've always wanted
Nesecita alguna licencia para guiar jet ski
Fresco are you sure of what you are doing man? Is that jetsky going to run again....
yes lol
Fresco: I Think 🤔 You Need to Weight the Rubber Hose to Keep it in the Bucket Sir ⚓️🚤⚓️
Como estamos fresco.olle como tú le ases cambio de aceite a un motor como el gue tu tienes en el bote 🚣♀️
My oil pump is self contained but a clothes pin would always work!
3.1 L of oil with oil filter replacement. You will hit the perfect oil level every time.
If you painted it w clear you could still read the part number :)
Do spark plugs, the Croation don't do nothing good.
You make it easy...
How about absorbent baby diapers to sop up the oil?
That's a good idea, i will try it next time
It cost about 400 bucks in tx
@ 5:20 that camera angle thooo
Man, someone abused that machine.....
That oil was thicker than Amara la negra.
Your engine look pretty affected by salt you should wash your engine after every use with fresh water for every part and use a water displacement oil like WD-40 or similar for every part for keep your engine perfect and not rusted
i do wash it with fresh water but the covered parts dont get it
do not use wd40 , it will break down rubber and plastic. use fluid film
Yes get a couple cans of fluid film with the hose attachment from amazon and spray the engine, mounts and all the metal parts. I wash out the engine compartment every ride but only have to wash the engine every ~3 months. Good stuff.
@frescochannel
Put a sponge under the filter
So you owned a race boat but never changed the oil?
Suck up the water in engine bay
ثول حته ثول صور عدل
Great vlog. U right u do talk too much 😆👍
Thanks bro lol
Kidding brother... that makes vlog going Interesting
Sorry you had so much trouble with your little hose.
